Great Little Studio

LOVED The Studio! Cheerful colors, big yard and short drive to the beach which thankfully there was plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the sound of the ocean and seagulls. It is close to the bridge for going to Southport where the waterfront dining is spectacular! We had coffee on the screened porch while our fur-baby played in the yard. It was clean and comfortable. We can't wait to go back!

Needed more room for a wedding

Came down for a wedding that wound up being moved but kept the rental anyway. Quiet area. I am familiar well with this area due to a friend owning at one time on the same road. I actually live in OKI but needed more space due to the wedding. Overall clean. Due to the rain there we quite a bit of waterbugs in the studio.

quaint, very cute

Very nice, just could use some upgrades and minor repairs,, pest control for red ants outside, and spiders interior. Overall though, a very nice experience.

Perfect Studio

We enjoyed our trip to the beach while staying at this pet friendly studio with the convenience of a private, fenced in back yard. The studio is as listed in the description and included all the amenities needed. The one complaint would be that the bathroom needs a good cleaning and updating. The air vent in the bathroom was filthy with caked on dust, walls had stains, and light fixtures also had standing dust.

Nice little place for a couple and their pooch!

My wife, dog and I stayed in the studio for a couple of nights and it was exactly as described. Great location and communication with Liz was on-point. The only drawback is the lack of a kitchen, but there are plenty of pet-friendly restaurants nearby to make this a very minor issue. Thanks for everything, Liz!

Good for a short trip

Overall was decent place. Good area for our lab to spend outside, not too far from beach. Could use a good cleaning (dust under tv stand, in the closet floor and under bed) and overall spruce up as the bathroom door was nearly impossible to open and close but nice for a short trip, just a couple nights.

Circumstances led to bad impression

Had not been cleaned..housekeeper had been taken to hospital and owner didn't know. Cable tv only has basic channels.

Wanda- Thank you so much for your patience. The caretaker's cleaning partner was hospitalized with a collapsed lung. I appreciate that you were so understanding when the cleaner arrived to clean at check in time. It was unusual circumstances that day! The TV does have HDMI for streaming as well as about 10 cable channels including the local channels for any important local news.

Perfect for Dog Lovers

There is plenty of room in this studio and everything you need for a vacation close to the beach. The fenced-in backyard and screened-porch are great for keeping an eye on the dog and enjoying the weather. There are several excellent restaurants very close by (Flying Fish, Turtle Island, and Joseph's), but make the. Try the short drive to Southport for the shops and restaurants, as well. Great location to enjoy this quiet beachside town.

Couldn't have asked for more

This place was amazing. It is small, quiet, and adorable. The location was perfect for us and the dogs. There is an attached property with a shared drive but it was never an inconvenience. The fenced in yard is an amazing bonus. We stayed for a week and never felt cramped despite the size of the room. It's literally an easy 10 minute walk to the ocean and a couple minutes drive to any restaurant. The room was extra clean, which made it hard for us to leave it better than we found it! It appeared that most of the neighbors were full time residents, which gave it an extra comfy feeling. Liz was very helpful and very considerate. She made the trip even better. This will be our go to spot from now on until the family grows. I would recommend taking a griddle or portable cook top so that you can make dinner and just relax in the room!

A delightful studio stay!!

The place was tidy, cheerful, and the owner was very accommodating while still respecting our privacy. It was wonderful to have our dogs with us! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the lack of a proper kitchen, but on the grand scheme of things not a big deal. We brought our portable grill and did some microwaveable dinners. I will absolutely be staying here again on our next trip to Oak Island!!

The Perfect Spot for Couple and Their Dog!

Nice little studio

Nice location for our purpose in going to Oak Island. Great fenced in yard for taking fur babies. Has mini fridge and microwave and coffee pot only, so eating out is mostly what you have to do, or microwave meals. Great place to stay for a few days for sure.

Cute, Comfortable, Clean and so much better than Hotel!

I loved my stay in the Studio. It is decorated in cheerful beach colors and decor. Traveling alone I was happy to be in a safe neighborhood. Being attached to the house it was surprisingly quiet and private. The whole back yard is for the Studio so it was peaceful to read and let my dog run. It is a nice walk to the beach but if toting beach towels and chairs (both provided and a cooler it was easier to drive and park at one of the many beach accesses. I stayed for a week but could easily see staying longer. Although it is just a Studio the back yard and screen porch make it feel much larger. The bed was comfortable and I loved being able to make coffee in the morning and keep items in the little refrigerator. I will definitely return. The host is very responsive with any questions. I highly recommend this little get away spot.
