Comfortable Cottage

Perfect lake cottage for our family. with five bedrooms, plenty of room for the whole family. Lake level lot is perfect for the grandkids. we will definitely book this cottage again. Thank you for a great stay.

Fun stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming lake house. We had a large group and it was easy to accommodate everyone ( the only negative was only one shower but we knew that going into it and had a game plan). The outdoor area was great and we loved sitting around the fire pit in the evenings watching the beautiful sunset. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Great Family Vacation!

My Family and I enjoyed a wonderful vacation at this cottage. My wife, my sons & their wives, and my grandchildren found the cottage, and working with Lynn, to be a very enjoyable experience. The water was very warm and the sandy bottom was a really nice opportunity for my grandchildren to swim. The cottage was very clean with plenty of room. The yard was large enough to play games & the fire pit was perfect. Lynn has to be one of the nicest and honest people I have worked with, in my experiences with VRBO over many years. We will be back!

Memorial Day 2024

Every Memorial Day we take a family vacation. Our daughter and two sons and thier families. I love spending time with family. This home has plenty of bedrooms to accommodate the whole family. The half bath upstairs is very convenient. The backyard and deck created a ton of memories. The lake is amazing and the grandsons caught fish right of the pier. Of course it is clise to town to run in and get the forgotten items.

Great swimming and sand

The rooms in this house actually were bigger than they seemed from the online photos, so we were pleased with that. The best features were outside. The yard, sand pit and swimming area were fantastic! Our family loved being able to roast marshmallows in the fire pit, and the deck was large with a lot of chairs to accommodate guests. Inside it was great to have bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. (For extra safety, it would be nice to have more light in the stairway so it is not quite so dark.) My 8-year-old granddaughter drew a picture in the guest book and wrote a paragraph about how much fun she had on vacation staying here . . . and she can be a tough reviewer. Family fun is what counts!

Family Lake Vacation

Brought my family to experience "lake time" for the first time and they are hooked!! The quaint Nixon Cottage is exactly what I remember of lake cottages from my childhood. There was plenty of room for adults and kids, alike, to relax and enjoy the lazy days. From the spacious deck with ample seating and wonderful lake views, to the fun of swimmimg and fishing directly off the pier, everyone found something to do to keep themself occupied. Games, books, and television were also availble for the rainy day we had during our stay. The amenities provided within the cabin were lovely, as well. Nice towels available for both the lake, and the bathrooms (seperate sets) were great. And plenty of cookware and utensils available in the kitchen. Being able to grill out every evening made the stay so much better, and the fire pit in the backyard added to the enjoyment and creation of memories. We will definitley be keeping this house in mind as we begin looking for next year!

Relaxing family lake vacation

Our family enjoyed 5 days at the house and it was accurately described in the listing. The beach towels, kitchen supplies, bathroom towels etc. exceeded our expectations as well as the backyard space and deck. The sunsets were beautiful!

Family summer get away to the lake

We all thoroughly enjoyed our 2 days at the cottage on Syracuse Lake. The grandkids got to swim and fish and play in the sandbox area. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook/prepare our meals and we didn’t need to leave the cottage for those two days. We just played and hung out together. There were enough beds for our family of 12 and everyone was comfortable. The air conditioning didn’t work well in the upstairs and that would be a nice improvement. Landscapers came and cleaned out the floating seaweed. There was firewood available too .

Perfect Location

We had such a wonderful time. This was our second year staying in The Nixon Cottage. The location is beautiful with lakefront access and plenty of yard room for games, bonfires and just hanging out. The cottage is nostalgic but very functional and roomy. I would definitely come back next year and recommend to my friends and family.

We love this cottage.

My mother reserved this cottage for us last summer - and my family, and my children especially, loved it. We booked this year with just our family, and we enjoyed it just as much. A beach space, fire pit, shallower water for little swimmers - it was a great vacation for everyone. Thank You!!

Great Lake Cottage!

Lovely Lake Home

Great spot on the lake, loved sitting on the lakefront porch for meals and coffee in the morning. And a great view. Old style cottage, very “homey” and quaint. Owner was very nice. Lots of beds for the family’. Couldn’t rent a pontoon boat to park at the cottage due to the bridge being low but it was only a couple of minutes from the Marina and used the boat on nearby lake Wawasee. If you have your own boat, then I am sure you could launch it on Lake Syracuse and park at their cottage pier.

Great lake cottage!

This is the 2nd time my family has stayed at this cottage, and it's great! Nice lawn for games, little sand area for the kids, and a long stretch of shallow water for kids to play/swim in. The well water smell was even fine this time, I believe they recently treated it :)

Family Reunion

Excellent sleeping spaces for all family members. The pier and lake were perfect, was a bit shallow but great for the kids!! Easy access for our boat to pull up to the pier, the lake was nice and calm. Lots of extra towels, cookware, and available food supplies. Close to everything you need from town. My only comment is the mosquitos!!! Nothing repelled them! Lol, like prehistoric features! Overall, such a fantastic stay! We had a blast!

Amazing lake getaway

We could not have been happier with our stay! Check in was easy, house was very clean and well stocked. The lake views cannot be beat. Having our own dock was a huge plus. The pics do not do this place justice!

Great Family Reunion site

Property is great lake cabin. Plenty of yard space for parking and annual family cornhole competition. We had a shrimp and crab leg boil over the fire pit and used the grill several times. Lots of sturdy, outdoor chairs and shade in yard from trees. Some family stayed at Oakwood up the road. Swimming off dock is perfect with a sandy bottom area. Lynn is very professional and organized. Great stay! Thank you.

Perfect location on the lake!

We had a great trip to Syracuse. The location is wonderful and there was plenty of room for everyone! Close to town if you need to run to get groceries.
