Lee is an amazing host. This was our second experience using VRBO and I have to say that I would definitely return every year if I could. Lee was right there if I called or texted, He took the time to share some of his memories with my wife and I and also spoke with my mother about her memories of his family.Would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. Simply and amazing memory I will cherish.

Lee was a wonderful host. Very responsive and friendly. Took care of a small issue right away. The property is lovely, water was warm and weather was great (thanks Lee ;). The house is definitely cottage, but was well stocked with everything you need for cooking, gaming, reading and relaxing! Even working if so compelled (available WiFi). The covered porch was a perfect shady place to read and paint rocks. Thanks Lee!

Hidden Gem

Everything you’d want in a lake cottage. Enjoyed the beautiful sunrises, coffee in the Adirondack chairs, seashell treasures and refreshing dips in the lake. Enjoyed having all the windows open at night to hear the waves crashing. . I would recommend wearing water shoes as Owasco lake is know for having sharp zebra mussels that will easily cut your bare feet. This property was easy to find and close to town if we needed a store run. The owners are very welcoming and close by if we needed anything. Highly recommend and will make this an annual stay for years to come!

The perfect Lakeside sunrise view

We had a wonderfully relaxing Labor Day weekend at this quaint and classic lakeside home. The private dock was great to sit on for hours reading or go swimming, and the house had everything we needed. Seeing the sunrise every morning was the absolute best experience!

Great Lake cabin

We really enjoyed our stay! Sunrises on the lake were beautiful! Kids enjoyed swimming out to dock & jumping in. Great campfire by lake at night. We enjoyed playing games on large table in sunroom overlooking the lake. Close to a beautiful hike at Filmore Glen. Will definitely come back! Thank you, Lee!

Lakeside gem

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage easily accommodated our family of five and 2 active Golden Retrievers. Our host was immediately responsive to our needs and greeted us upon arrival. The location on the lake is superb with a lovely deck and a dock for our boat. Great time and we were up to see the beautiful sunrise every day!

Lee was very accommodating and nice. The lake is awesome. It's a cottage. Remined me of my grandfathers cottage on Lake Erie when I was a kid. Had fun.

Awesome mini vacation

We had a great experience staying here! Communication with the owner, Lee, was easy and prompt, especially since this was our first time using VRBO. Easy to find the property. Very quiet; never saw neighbors, and just occasional vehicle traffic going to other locations. Cottage fully stocked with kitchen supplies for cooking and eating, games, etc. Wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely choose to stay here again in the future!

Slice of Heaven

Great location! Perfect for family (and dog) getaway!!! Right on the water, so easy access to lake and all its beauty. Gorgeous sunsets! Quiet, private neighborhood. Nice to stroll through. Bonus…. Owner Lee was a nice guy and easy to communicate with. Thank you for sharing your little slice of Heaven with us, Lee! We had a great time!

Great Camp Stay!

My cousins and I loved staying at the Camp. The neighborhood is quiet and serene. The birds and other water fowl, along with waking to the sun were treats. Owasco Lake is unbelievably clean and we enjoyed time in the water and relaxing on the waterfront. Mr. Holmes is such a great host. He greeted us and walked us through the camp. He was responsive to any questions. We would love to return.

Wedding vacation

Several days before the our stay there was a problem with our reservation. There was a 24 hour period that our money was refunded and we had no rental and a wedding to go to. Not sure what happened but the owner corrected it and we were booked again. This camp is right on the water. Beautiful setting! It rained a lot while we were there but there is a roof over the patio so you could still eat outside. It is an older home so there were some nails sticking up on the side dock area. The dock does not have a lift like I had seen in a picture. Overall we had a great time?

Fantastic location!

The deck right over the water was great!! And the house gets morning sun and then stays relatively cool since you’re out of the sun for the heat of the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Lee was accessible and attentive if anything was needed. It is not a luxurious place, more of a camp but right on the water! Don’t forget sheets and towels and anything else you might need for the kitchen. Kitchen was stocked w appliances and dishes etc but make sure you remember butter, condiments, etc. The deck on the water is a flight of steps down from the main house - so often we ran up & down as we spent much of our time down there. Had company over and parking was not an issue. The house had a great indoor area overlooking the lake which I’m sure we would have used had it not been great weather! Lots of furniture and games out there for a rainy day! Great dock to jump into the lake from and we had a great time.

Great Views/Very Clean

My wife, 15 month old daughter, and 2 year old Goldendoodle loved this property! The owners were highly communicative and left a complimentary bottle of wine upon check in! There aren't many pictures of the property online, don't let that fool you; the view is spectacular, and the seating on both the porch and in the living room is ample. The wi-fi was easy to connect to, and the property was VERY clean. We didn't hesitate to let our little one crawl all over the floor. The master bedroom is a full size bed and a twin bed with an awesome view of the water. The second bedroom has a full size bed. The bathroom has a shower stall. The kitchen was appropriately equipped (we only used the grill once, chose to eat out in Auburn and Aurora). There were very comfortable chairs and sofas all over the entire house. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, or by the fire pit in the evenings. Great vacation, very relaxing. Would definitely book this again.

Very Happy. Beautiful place, would visit again.

I was here with my family, and we had two Golden Retrievers. There was plenty of space and privacy for everyone. Water area is nice and relaxing. Just bring water shoes as there is no sand and it’s a bit rocky and has sharp mussel shells. Lee, the host, was Very polite, communicative and accommodating throughout the check-in and checkout process, and was also very responsive over email and text message. Some of the pics of the docks are outdated and Do not reflect the actual dock that comes with the rental property. The pictures make it seem like there is a boatlift associated with the rental property, but that dock / lift has been moved to their personal property. The boat lift was actually one the main reasons why we chose to stay here, however, We were fortunate enough that there were no major storms so we were able to leave our boat in the water. Boat launches are at the farthest ends of the lake.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

Did I mention this place has a great location, lol? The cottage is on Owasco Lake, westside, 10 min. from Moravia. and 15 min. from Auburn. Both towns have great state parks, and conservation areas plus good restaurants. We were located just feet from the water and accessed the large front deck area easily by 14 steps outside (with a hand rail). Entrance to the cottage was 1 step and parking was close and convenient. Inside we found an open living/kitchen/dining area with big screen tv, bedrooms, a remodeled bath, and a huge sun porch (the length of the house). Everything was clean, well decorated and comfy. The sun porch had a huge dining table and tons of lounging space including 2 sofabeds. I put that porch to good use, sleeping nights out there listening to the soothing sound of waves down below. It felt like I was on a cruise ship with the balcony doors letting in the sounds of the water. Waking up to a gorgeous sunrise over the lake was a treat. Outdoor features were its huge deck (half of which has a roof covering from the overhang of the sun porch), side yard overlooking the lake, stone beach, swim platforms, and fishing dock. It is fairly private with no close neighbors. Our welcoming host family provided us with suggestions for dinner and a perfect spot high above the lake to watch the sunset. Lee even brought us wood for a campfire by the water. We were only able to stay 3 nights this trip, but are already in the process of reserving a week for next year! To top it all off they allowed our 2 golden retrievers to join us. We were able to arrange the outdoor furniture to block off the deck, so they could relax safely outside with us. Under our watchful eye they chased each other around the beach, splashing in the water and chasing balls and sticks. The family's granddaughter loved petting and playing with them. Our hosts told us about a good area for walking them along the lake and every night we had happy, tired dogs snoring away! It was a perfect spot for our family and we are so glad to have found it!

Amazing Stay on the Lake

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing long weekend away at Lee's lake house. The house was perfect for us and plenty of space, with a kitchen, two living areas, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The outdoor deck was great and the view is amazing. What really drew us to this property is that it was right on the lake and is pet friendly. We brought our two dogs along and they loved getting to run through the water and play in the lake. Lee was very helpful and communicative every step of the way and I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Quiet private beautiful space
