¡Este apartamento de dos dormitorios y dos baños frente al golfo está ubicado en el corazón de Destin (centro de Destin) y tiene mucho que ofrecer! El condominio en sí ofrece 2 dormitorios completos y dos baños completos, el dormitorio principal tiene una cama king size. El dormitorio de invitados está equipado con una litera completa / doble. Hay un sofá cama Queen en la sala de estar. La habitación 312 ofrece una cocina completa, comedor y sala de estar, todos con excelentes vistas del golfo. Sterling Sands Beach Trip 2019

We love Sterling Sands Condos. This was our 5th visit back. The beach is perfect the pool makes it a great place to come after the beach. The property is well jetted and managed well.

Great location to stay, close to shop, games for kids, an liquor store for adults. Check in was okay, t been nice to have pool code an beach code before we arrive, we were running late an missed HOA office hours so had deal next day with that, but over all we had awesome time

Lovely Unit

The unit was clean and ready early for our arrival. The property and grounds were well maintained, and the staff was very friendly. The view from the balcony was breathtaking and we enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed an extra day. The only negative is that the 2nd bedroom is very small and does not have a closet. We will definitely come back to this property again.

Nice property great views

1st time to visit Destin. This is a great place to stay. I would only go off season as I dont like the crowds and it was busy enough when we went. Unfortunately Hurricanes had caused the water to be turned up so did not spend much time at the beach but the pool area here was great with daily walks on the beach. Destin is was too comercialized for aget away but the condo and location was perfect.. Would stay again in OFF season.

Summer Vacation

We loved the location, access to the beach, and pool. This property was in a perfect location along Highway 98. The unit was not cleaned and did not appear to be very well taken care of… The furniture and some of the fixtures were broken and the floor was filthy.

Fabulous location but the unit is in very bad need of updating and fixing. Carpet was torn and stained, both sinks in the bathrooms were backed up, there was sand on coffee table and bar stools, lots of peeling paint and scuffs on walls and baseboards. Unit needs some love!!!

Great area!

Great and safe area and beautiful view from this unit. The building is well maintained. Our unit could use a deep cleaning but it had everything we needed. A little mishap with our bracelets was immediately fixed. The shower didn’t work and they had it fixed within an hour. We would definitely return!

Nice condo, up close to beach/ocean, quiet, close to everything, the only complaint is that beach chair rental company takes up the entire shoreline & you are “not allowed” to sit anywhere in front of the rental chairs if you brought your own chairs. I felt like I wasn’t important enough as a guest to have this option.

GREAT LOCATION NEEDED WORK INSIDE APARTMENT

Overall it was a great location and enjoyable beach access. Inside the apartment the couch was very old and smelled bad. The couch definitely needs to be changed. Also the ac needed to be looked at as it did not cool the place like it should. The glasses were on window were not clean.

Great stay!

It was just my husband and I so it was very simple and uncomplicated. We would not bring kids there bc the glass on the balcony looks like it’s about to fall out and kitchen was not well equipped. The kitchen faucet leaked really bad and ruined the paper towels. So just needs some attention to fix a few things. Other than that the view is beautiful and it was very clean. We had a great time.

Property listed as 2 bedroom but second had no closet and bed shoved against wall and chest of drawers. No extra blankets. No kitchen basics like salt and pepper. Dishwasher needs attention. Clock on wall doesn't work. Cracked floor tile in kitchen. living room chair needs replaced.

Not acceptable

The condo: needs extensive updating. Couch moaned every time it was sat on, nails in the walls, walls and moldings full of marks, floor tiles broken, rusty stove, cupboards delaminating, both bathrooms old dirty caulking. The contents: lacking in basic kitchen, cleaning needs. No broom and dust pan, not enough bowls to serve 6 people, rusty baking pans, carving knives steak knives rusty, no pot holders kitchen towels. Do not recommend staying here.

The second bedroom does not have a queen sized bed!

The best parts about this condo were the view, living area, and master bedroom. The kitchen was disappointing and the second bedroom was very disappointing. The second bedroom did NOT have a queen bed. The bed was a full bed, rigged up on a twin headboard. The mattress was so bad my daughter and I were worried it was going to crash to the floor each night. The carpet was worn in both bedrooms and there was evidence of water damage on the ceilings. The kitchen was lacking in basic measuring spoons and cups that had the measurements listed on them and a basic 9x13 pan. All in all we had a good stay, but this property is not as advertised.

Fun family vacation

I booked this property for me and my parents for our family vacation. I had my own room and bathroom & they had theirs. It was fairly clean and very well stocked. We also had an in unit washer/dryer. The view of the ocean from our balcony was gorgeous. Ocean Reef allowed us to check in a couple hours early because the room was ready. There are on site elevators that were very handy during our stay on the 3rd floor. The only downside was the beach in front of our condo does not allow you to use your own tent/umbrella & the rental service is expensive. Their umbrellas are enough for one person to be shaded from the sun. One umbrella is $24 per day. That’s $432 on umbrellas for three people for 6 days & that doesn’t include chairs it’s just for the umbrellas. We overall had a great time and enjoyed the public beach we went to. It wasn’t too packed this time of year. If you don't mind spending some money on the umbrella and chairs, then this is for you. If you have equipment and want to use it, I’d recommend elsewhere. We ended up driving to a public beach everyday which defeated the purpose of getting a beachfront condo so we most likely won’t get this room again

Sterling Sands is nice but this room was not

We love Sterling Sands and will continue to come here but not back to this unit. We don’t mind older units & decor BUT we do mind dirty! The condo was not cleaned properly - spots in the tub, stains on bedding, dirty carpet and baseboards, stinky vacuum cleaner with unemptied container. There were a lot of fruit flies in the kitchen that someone was supposed to come get rid of but never did. Nothing smelled clean, it just felt gross. Three out of four TV remotes did not work. The 2nd bedroom was advertised to have a trundle bed but did not. We called the management company and they got us an air mattress and roll away bed right away. The glass on balcony had handprints all over it, obviously not clean. The unit did not include beach chair service to our chagrin. It was disappointing.

Very small unit

This unit is very small and dated. One bedroom you can not even walk around one side of the bed. The living area is sufficient but small bedrooms and bathrooms. Bathrooms not real clean. Some mildew in tile grout and old rusty shower curtain rod. The patio in these units has a glass or clear plastic "railing" which makes the patio so hot you can't even enjoy sitting out there. It blocks any breeze. Ocean Reef manages this property and they were mostly quick to respond but the HOA office here obviously doesn't like them and so they were not nice or helpful to us at all. We would receive a text from Ocean Reef saying to go to the HOA office for the door code (when we extended our stay) and the HOA office would not give it to us so we were "locked out" until we were able to get in touch with Ocean Reef directly. In fact the HOA worker was rude a few times. They even made us pay for pool bracelets even though that was supposed to be included in our rental price. Nice pool, nice walkway to the beach. Bottom line if we had actually realized how small this unit was we would have picked something else. Also, the patio "rail" would be a deal breaker for us (unless it was winter time).

HOA and property manager are terrible

We visit Destin every year and this was our first time staying at this property. It will also be our last. You have to pay for wristbands that allow you to use the pool and gates on the property. You will get reprimanded by “security” and not allowed to pass through if you don’t have your wristband. No drinking of anything within 4 feet of the pool was strictly enforced during daylight hours. The door to our room was left open before we arrived, and the room was not cleaned properly prior to our stay. I visited the HOA office to make sure we had everything we needed. They rudely explained I didn’t and acted put out for having to assist me. While I was filling out the paperwork they needed, one of the cleaning ladies was complaining to the office manager about mildew in all the rooms and that it’s not her responsibility to clean mildew, and the person whose responsibility it is, isn’t taking care of it. We were in the elevator with a couple who thought they had bed bugs in their room. We couldn’t wait to be done with our trip and actually left a day early. I hate to rate this poorly because I don’t feel it’s necessarily the unit owners fault… but someone needs to fix the issues and hire staff that likes the hospitality industry. Speaking with other guests, everyone had the same experience with them as we did, and not a single interaction was even mildly pleasant. They ruined our stay.

Cute place, great views, problematic mangement co

This is the second time we have stayed in Sterling Sands, last spring break was in a different unit. SS is a nice condo complex, good location in Destin, nice private beach, not crowded, great heated pool (rare), amazing views (dolphins from the balcony in the morning!). This unit was decorated nicely, cute beachy vibe. Bedding (decorative) was cute, unit was clean, the appliances in the kitchen could use some updating but you don't go to the beach for appliances :). Bedrooms are small but the owner managed to utilize the space very well and there is plenty of room for sleeping. Our last condo included beach service which was very nice, this unit has a couple of chairs you could bring down, we left an umbrella in case anyone wanted to use it. Overall I was happy with the condo. However, the management company, Ocean Reef, is another story. The linens on the bed were like sandpaper, I'm not a picky person and tend to be pretty forgiving on rentals as I know this stuff costs a lot for the owners BUT these sheets were cheaper than cheap and very uncomfortable, can't imagine if we had gotten sunburned. The towels were the same way, very small and a few "new" towels were getting holes in them by the end of the week...we only used them for showers. My biggest complaint, this is BIG, we were never told that the complex was renovating the end unit balconies during the rental time (we were not on an end unit thankfully). ALL OF THEM. SO we had the pleasure of listening to jack hammers, tile saws and more pleasant sounds all week that could be heard from the pool and the beach. This was not last minute construction, there were snowbirds there that had been dealing with it for weeks. We should have been offered a discount or the opportunity to book a different property, I feel this is very shady business practice and it really did effect our trip negatively. I hate leaving a negative review. If you are considering this unit I can honestly say it is super cute and clean, I think the OWNER has done a nice job with the property and you can't beat the views! You will enjoy it if you take certain measures (I'm thinking this is for all condos now, not just this one) #1. find out ahead of time if there is construction because the mgt co obviously is not going to be forthcoming with the info; #2. bring your own sheets and bath towels.

Not as expected

This unit was in pretty bad shape and did not appear as it did in pics. Carpet was dirty and shredded at the ends. One bathroom was pretty gross. Second bedroom is tiny and picture was misleading. Beds were comfortable and the property/building itself was great. Ease of check in and check out was nice. It took us a while to get wristbands from office due to strange hours. The view was amazing.

Nice location near restaurants and lots of a activities including Harbor Walk Village.
