Beautiful spot with a quick and comfortable house.

It was a great location to stay and a comfortable arrangement with everything you could need. AC or bug screens would make it a bit more livable for the hotter months.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location was really amazing, very close to Deadman's beach and the property was quite spacious with good sized bedrooms. I appreciated that the bedrooms had fans and that the kitchen was well equiped. The property was superficially clean, but could really do with a good deep thorough clean and the throw cushions and grey couch in the living space were not used as some were mouldy and seemed a bit grotty. That being said, we would stay again.

The location of this property was perfect for us, walk from home for a surf, beach walk or dinner at the pub, ticked the boxes.Yep, three levels of stairs add to your daily workout which was fine.As per previous reviews, one of the lounges needs to go.The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We would be happy to recommend this property to others.

A lovely beach getaway

We enjoyed beautiful weather during our week 6-13 May at Quarterdeck townhouse. Value for money with plenty of room for the whole family and so handy to Cylinder Beach and Deadman’s Beach. The whole townhouse was well appointed and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for a holiday. There was a leak of water in the ground floor bathroom. Ray Ehite at North Stradbroke responded straightaway and the leak was fixed promptly. It was the best holiday house we have ever rented at Straddie.

Happy but Disappointed

Reviewer Comments: We loved the views from the top floor, but no flyscreen on door or windows made it difficult to catch any breeze and lots of Mosquitos made it uncomfortable to sleep in comfort. we had to make do as there was no air-conditioning and it should have been stated when we were viewing the property. February is very humid and it made it a challenge to be comfortable.

Well overdue for a clean

As previous reviewers have mentioned over previous months, items like the lounge are stained, mattress protector is stained, and the property needs a good deep clean as there is mould on the walls and ceilings.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at Quarterdeck: the location is excellent for easy walks to Cylinder and Deadman's Beaches and Bob's Shop. It was a hot week so the fans got a good workout. As others have indicated, the double bed in the second bedroom is not up to expectations for a rental at this price. Also, the oven was not working and was replaced while we were there. If any of your party has mobility issues, then this is not the house for you - the stairs do not have railings for the first flight and the garage is very tight. Love the location!

The place could have been dusted a little better, particularly under the bed. The small bedroom had a broker blind. Worst - was the non-functioning oven. Best of all was the forest kingfisher which visited every day and sat on the powerlines.

Hidden Gem!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From the first interaction to the last goodbye on the ferry we had an amazing time. Access to property was kept simple and when we went to pop the keys back in the letterbox, instead we were greeted by a friendly face who took them for us while he was sweeping the footpath - all with a big smile. The views were superb and we could hear the whales singing all sight which was a first in the 30 years we've been going there! Wildlife was everywhere as usual. The place had all the required amenities including wifi which is a must if it's pouring at any stage. The only criticism is that one of the big lounges is unusable but with only 2 of us for most of the trip we made do. Will certainly be back!

Great Location and layout

Very nice layout on 3 levels including spacious kitchen, dining, and living room and 2 outside decks. Very nice view from top master bedroom.Cons:1) first floor shower does not turn off and the flow of water will be audible throughout the entire house. This will be a major disturbance for your stay unless you bring long-handled wrench to tighten2) guest bedroom is right next to outside streetlight and does not have a window/door curtain - it is very bright and you will not sleep well here unless you bring a sleep mask3) guest bedroom bed is on wheels - honestly, why would you do this to your guests? Bed easily rolls away from the wall. Two coasters are provided but they are two small for the wheels and easily fall out (with loud bang)4) Oven is almost impossible to get up to and stay at temperature. Pre-heated for over an hour and could just barely get it to 150C

Good Location

House was good. No curtains upstairs, which meant it was cold on a cold day. Heater did not work, so we had to wrap in blankets. All else was good. Beds were comfortable and a good kitchen.

Quarterdeck stay on North Stradbroke Island

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I always find Quarterdeck an excellent unit to holiday. The inside of the property has well maintained facilities for a family’s needs with views of the ocean, the dolphins and migrating humpbacks from the outside two upper level verandahs. There are many scenic walks including the beach for young and old to enjoy along with local coffee shops, the hotel and convenience store on the eastern side of the island.
