Pandanus Retreat - Point Lookout, QLD

Arquitecto diseñado casa de playa en una ubicación central y a pocos pasos de varias playas, el desfiladero, tiendas, restaurantes y transporte público. Hay dos salas de estar separadas y cada una de las tres habitaciones tiene su propio baño. El área de comedor está situada en una brisa protegida y esta casa está extremadamente bien equipada y bellamente amueblada.
Características: Tres habitaciones (1 King y 2 Queens), dos televisores con Foxtel, Ipod Docks, lavavajillas, cafetera Nespresso y espuma, parcialmente apantallado, lavadora y secadora, estufa de gas, ventiladores de techo en todas las habitaciones y salas de estar, calentadores en todas las habitaciones, barbacoa de gas en el patio trasero, bañera grande, ducha de jardín con agua fría y caliente, puertas para bebés en la parte superior de las escaleras.

Todas las reservas realizadas después del 1 de diciembre de 2018 incluirán un paquete de ropa completo. Tenga en cuenta que las camas no están hechas y es posible que la ropa de cama deba devolverse con las llaves al momento de pagar.

Perfect Beach Retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This holiday home is the best beach holiday retreat I’ve ever experienced. I booked this retreat for my family (for the first time, I assumed there would be air con, but after payment I realised this wasn’t the case). My mistake was a blessing in disguise because this place was just perfect. The downstairs area was great for getting sand off with the outdoor shower and hose. Downstairs was perfect for my brother and his girlfriend to have their own space with bathroom and living room. This allowed my partner and I, and my mum, to share upstairs. The private ensuites were a luxury for all of us. The open air design was beautifully refreshing! Great, big table for games and meals too, as well as a nice upstairs patio. Great spot overall!

Lovely beach house

We loved it here. Situated in a quiet area within leafy surrounds, close to beaches, restaurants and shops. No air con, but cool breezes throughout the open plan design is refreshing. All modern kitchen and bathrooms. Only gripe we had was the couch in upstairs living and king bed upstairs are extremely uncomfortable though tolerable for our week stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location & an interestingly designed house. Could hear the ocean which was wonderful. Lovely upstairs deck area. However the upstairs lounge furniture was old and uncomfortable, two v small TV’s, v little bench space in the kitchen and the barbecue was dirty. The bedrooms/bathrooms were great however mattresses need replacing as they dip in the middle. Not sure I would want to stay there in winter given large areas with fly screens (or none) and no shutters to shut out the wind/breezes. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean.

Reviewer Comments: Stay was ok, the place was described as pet friendly however when we got there it requested that the pet stay outside all the time - this is NOT pet friendly. The bathrooms were spick and span as were the bedrooms but the place needs a thorough deep clean (sticky cupboard handles, light swtiches, bowls/plates had dead bugs in them) and tidy up outside. i was not impressed for the price we paid. We have an investment property and if this place was ours - we would not present it to guests as is.

With a dining space set in a ‘breezeway’ to catch the seabreeze, and a covered balcony amongst the trees for morning coffee or an evening bbq and drinks, this house is perfect for a Straddie beach holiday. Beaches are all just a short stroll away, and you will spend your time surrounded by polished concrete, natural timbers, Kookaburra calls and Kangaroos. Can’t wait to get back...

We can see there are a couple of maintenance issues but we dont really care. Bathroom door knob is loose etc... Only thing that bugs me is the Camphor Laurel taking over the front yard and crowding out the original landscaping. Its a noxious weed and can spread a lot of seed and should be removed to allow the Frangepani to advance and provide screening as intended. Also we dont even use the barbecue because it was really dirty last time and i dont want to have to clean up someone elses mess!

Ideal Low-Key Island Escape

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Pandanus Retreat twice now, and we absolutely love it. It is a low-key island style house that is the perfect place to relax, unwind and get on island time. Its design is unusual, but we love its character and charm that is so unique to Stradbroke Island. It is in a quiet location that is close to everything Point Lookout has to offer. Walk to the shops, cafes, dog friendly beach and the gorge walk. Beds are clean and comfortable, kitchen is basic but has everything you need. Kangaroos hopping past the house daily. Great access and driveway, we could park our car and boat here easily and safely. We will definitely book again.

Horrible waste of money!

From the moment I walked in the house I could smell dog poo, I then located the dog poo under the stairs in the open foyer. The house was extremely dirty with cobwebs, dirty windows and dirty kitchen utensils. The worst part, was the cockroach infestation. The huntsman totally understandable it’s a bush environment but at night the walls were literally alive with cockroaches. The furniture was grotty. Total waste of my money and negatively impacted by very first Stradbroke experience. The location of the building was perfect close to the beach and all amenities. The actual architect of the house was very appealing.

Reviewer Comments: Love this architectural beach shack .Love the design and the garden setting.Nothing nicer than relaxing here after a morning on the beach.It was our third stay a Pandanus Retreat.BUT ?!? Sadly it has still not had a thorough spring clean.Bedrooms are very dusty.And are smelling from the encrusted dust on the walls and windows .Windows need a clean.The mattresses need replacement.As they are sagging. Mattress protector needed washing .There was not a usable fry pan in the draw .They are all black from burnt oil.Seriously?!? Kmart $20 for a fry pan.Change them over annually.The oven needs a clean.Chair upholstery needs steam cleaning or replacing .We had to change gas over when we first cooked.We love Straddie and enjoy this beach shack .Just wish the cleaning and maintenance was better.It’s a great shack that needs some TLC .Also the gardener came while we were in residence.Trying to have a lazy morning and late breakfast.Was like being attacked by an army .If we new they were coming we would have gone out.Perhaps guests should be told what day is the very noisy garden maintenance.As it’s 3 guys on 3 very loud machines all at once.Brush cutter Blower lawn mower .All operating at once .For the minimal amount of garden it was very OTT.This gardening should be scheduled for the clean change over.

Tired and not suitable for colder months

Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately our stay was not like the first time we stayed here. Clean was poorly done, with the place not in the best shape. Home is a little tired now, needs some maintenance. Finally, it is simply not suitable for the cooler months or winter - insufficient heating and open spaces are freezing. Really needs investments in air conditioning or larger heaters in each room for winter months, hardly liveable otherwise - we had to resort to collecting the little heaters from each room and populating 4 of them in the lounge room for comfort then moving each to a bed room for sleeping. Not acceptable for the money.

Reviewer Comments: This is our second stay at Pandanus Retreat this year.We love this Architectural beach house.And will be staying again with friends and family.The bushy aspect is the perfect to relax after the beach.We love the layout with lots of relaxing spaces for reading and chilling.Plus great communal areas for sharing meals and games.But before we return please could you give this property a thorough spring 🌼 clean.All surfaces need dusting and sugar soap wash down.Sorry . . You can’t just rely on your change over cleans.Also a bit disappointed with Ray White lack of communication and attitude when the hot water system wasn’t working.Yes they got it ‘temporarily’ working with a few hours.But we had the inconvenience of No water pressure and we had to stagger showers and use.Unfortunately we were not informed that the new system would not be installed in our visit until we chased them up.No apologies for the inconvenience. Or an offer for a free night stay for the 10 day stay inconvenience.I manage an air bnb and if there is a maintenance problem I always offer some sort of compensation . . . Late check out . . . And extra nights stay . . . Or a least a bottle of wine or chocolates with a sorry card.Hopefully next time we return they will have hot water system fixed.

Everything was with in walking distance.The bathrooms are all modern, the furniture was excellent with a couple of wow pieces.The house was equipped very well, with coffee pod machine, sandwich press just to name a few, plus the usual kettle & toaster. Everything you need to prepare meals.I would recommend this property, we called it the Tree House.We had a very enjoyable stay.
