Grossly Misrepresented, Unsafe, and Not Worth the PriceWe paid 32,000 for seven nights at Alligator House expecting a luxury, 5-star experience. What we received was a poorly maintained, dirty, and unhealthy home that is nothing like the listing photos, which are severely outdated. As the stay progressed, new issues continuously surfaced. Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms had a strong mold odor, with visible mold growth in bathrooms and laundry room. Our children experienced breathing and sinus issues. The kitchen was unsafe, with ants present daily and pots and pans stored on the floor next to rat poison. Mechanical and electrical problems were widespread. A roof leak damaged personal belongings during rain. Numerous lights, outlets, TVs, audio systems, and appliances did not work or barely functioned. Several problems were only discovered days into the stay, not upon arrival, like the grill when we went to use it. The home required constant technician visits, forcing us to remain on-site supervising repairs rather than enjoying our vacation. Relocating was not realistic, as all major travel logistics were prepaid under contract, including flights, excursions, chefs, vehicles, and dining reservations. Outdoor areas were equally neglected, including a deteriorating pool finish, unsafe beach access, exposed wiring, and beach furniture that did not match the listing photos. We travel often and rarely leave reviews, but this experience warrants a clear warning.
