Very accommodating for a large family from young to old! Everything that was needed was provided very close to beach and downtown Duck.

Lovely Stay

Our family had a great week at this house, though some of the furniture in the basement was a little different once we arrived. We also had some issues with some of the doors latching and locking properly, but the property management company sent someone out right away.

We weren’t sure what to expect with the Covid situation. We found this property to perfectly meet our needs and to be very clean!! We’ve stayed in the outer banks before and spiders were a horrible issue. We barely saw any this trip!!

Good Morning Sunshine

The property, as a whole, was pretty nice. The mattresses for the trundles looked a bit worn. The mattresses on the bottom bunk beds may need to be replaced as well. The pool table was nice. The kitchen was very sufficient, even though we had to turn the oven up higher to cook. Could not turn the volume up on the TV in the pool table room. And the bar refrigerator kept leaking water in the bottom of it. All-in-all, the family enjoyed it and would stay there again.

Overall good

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The location is great, only a block away from the beach. The kids loved the pool and the house worked out well for our family. Plenty of space for all of us. However there was a storm that knocked out the router on the 2nd night. It was never fixed or replaced so we were without wifi for essentially our entire stay. There was also some mold in one of the bathrooms

Lots of potential but needs updating

Pros: plenty of space to accommodate our large group of adults kids ranging from teens to baby; the pool and hot tub were great especially for the kids; short walk to the beach and an easy drive either into Duck or out to Corolla. Cons: the house is not well maintained - dishwashers desperately need replacing (one leaked the first time we tried to run it, the other seemed to work but the racks are falling apart); mini fridge in the living area was leaking water; the beds were all extremely uncomfortable; property needs a good cleaning inside and out. The decks and outdoor stairs looked like they hadn’t been swept in weeks and there were even some nails sticking up in places. If some simple updates were made this would be the perfect spot given its central location and ample space. It has a lot to offer but we wouldn’t rent it again at the current price point unless it gets the attention it needs.

Family beach fun

Every summer my 2 sons and my daughter along with all my grandkids and I take a beach vacation. Each year it is a different place. We have never been to the Outerbanks but have wanted to go. This year was the year. We found this house that was perfect for our family of 13 and 2 friends. This house was just what they said on advertising!! It was spacious and had so much to do just at the house!! The beach was perfect and the Outerbanks was perfect to make our trip the best one yet!! I highly recommend this place and house. Also the rental agency was great!! Thank you so much for all the best memories.

The house is beautiful and was perfect for my family. Close proximity to the beach and a pool was a hit for everyone. HOWEVER there are some issues with the house. Namely the appliances. The refrigerator leaked and got our food wet. The dishwasher was full of water and we couldn’t use it for 3 or 4 days. The clothes dryer was broken and we couldn’t dry the clothes, even after the maintenance guy left it still wouldn’t dry the clothes. And my bed in the master suite was so uncomfortable it hurt my back and I slept 6 nights on the couch. The owner needs to invest money in the appliances because most of them are old and broken down. We love outter banks but I wouldn’t rent this house again. It doesn’t make since to charge that much for a week and have appliances that don’t work

Great Stay

My family and I greatly enjoyed this vacation home. Located on a dead-end street but close enough to the beach and center of Duck. Loved the set up of the house. The only suggestion I have is to put a sign of rules near the hot tub (currently they are only located near the pool three floors down). The weather was terrible the week we stayed, so we didn’t even go to the pool. The lady who cared for the hot tub seemed peeved when she found out we weren’t aware of some rules. Other than that everything about the house is perfect!!

Great location, pool was great

Really enjoyed the trip and the communication with rental place was excellent. The ONLY complaint was cleanliness. Not small cleaning either, but the place really needs a deep cleaning. We spent $50 just on cleaning stuff. Went through an entire package of wet swiffers just on the kitchen floor. Counters dirty, windows dirty, floor very dirty. We really enjoyed the layout, really enjoyed the location, communication, just the cleanliness was not good.

A little disappointing, needs a thorough cleaning and some updates

While this is a very spacious house with many listed amenities, not all were available to us. We booked this house primarily because of the pool that was advertised, and we were only told upon arrival that the pool had not been opened for the season and was not usable, which was very disappointing. Furthermore, the whole house required a thorough cleaning. Both the carpets and the couch cushions had numerous stains, and those of us with dust allergies had horrible allergy attacks in the house. Furthermore, one of the bedrooms smelled like smoke, and none of the pans were usable because they were so scratched and old. Lastly, there was only enough dishwasher detergent provided for one load of dishes, although all dishes were expected to be washed upon our departure, which is somewhat incogruent.

Duck in October during COVID

#1 attraction for us was the basement with 6 beds in one room for the kids. This trip was for the teens. Sheets were not 100% cotton in any of the rooms, like advertised, nor was there a working TV, as advertised. We asked for help with the TV and never got it, in our 5 day vacation. However, they left the pool open longer than usual, and the beach was close(ish) to the house, only a short walk away.. Cleaners were breathing down our necks at 8am on check out day (parked across the street watching), and charging in the house with cleaning buckets and more sand-paper sheets wrapped in plastic at exactly 9:59am. They mean business!

Home has Everything you Need & More!

Great Home, with plenty of Space! The home has been well loved over the years, and our visit was towards the end of the Season. This Home isn't for someone that is OCD, we had to wear shoes due to the condition of carpet. if Carpet was cleaned/replaced, and routine maintence was done, we would consider to revisit in the future.

Great place for a group of people

This house was amazing. It was exactly as expected! The pool was clean and so was the house. The came by mid week to clean the pool which was nice as well. The only downfall which isn’t a huge deal is the walk to the beach. If you are carrying cornhole boards, tents, coolers, then I would suggest using a truck to haul the stuff down. If you aren’t hauling a lot it’s a nice walk to the beach with two ways of access. I’d recommend this property to anyone

a great week

We have a large family, the size of the house and number of bed rooms was a good fit for us. The children enjoyed the pool and the walk to the ocean is on a side street with little traffic.
