Bienvenido a Swink Cottage! Ubicada en Southern Shores, esta casa de vacaciones cuenta con una torre de observación con vistas panorámicas al océano. Llegar a la playa es fácil, solo 40 yardas a través de un acceso directo escriturado.

Hay mucho espacio para que familiares y amigos puedan crear recuerdos inolvidables. La casa tiene un plano de planta abierto y espacioso con una gran sala grande, área de comedor con capacidad para diez personas, cocina con barra de desayuno y cinco habitaciones más tres baños. Fantastic beach home so close to the water

Family Vacation at Swink Cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an awesome week at Swink Cottage. The view and sound of the ocean from the house was breathtaking. We had coffee every morning on the top deck. The private beach access made for a very short walk to the beach and it was the most quiet section of beach we've ever used. The location was convenient to all the places we like to shop at in Duck, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head. The only negative was the cactus in the yard kept getting stuck in our dog's paws when we took him out.

We had never been to the area and she sent great information. We have been using Brno or Airbnb, this was MUCH better. Plus we got 7 nights for the price of five! The house was perfect! Clean! We cooked and everything was there that we needed. The beach just steps away. So beautiful! Thank you!

Comfortable Home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was great for our time there. The bedroom was a nice room and bed was comfy. Kitchen pots and pans were usable. Furniture was comfortable. Mgmt replaced a toaster for us within a day. The hot tub had a problem that was fixed eventually, but we only had a few days of use. The beach access is an easy walk, no high dunes. Both sets of steps from the outside have landings which is nice for senior people and dogs. I did not let our dog go up or down the indoor steps. Pie shaped steps can be confusing for them. Five stars without the hot tub issue.

Love Swink!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had stayed at Swink in 2018 before Covid and loved the house layout and how close it is to the beach. This year we came later in the year, during hurricane season and were between them, so no swimming. The house was perfect again, however one of our family members had to sit in front of the open door by the deck the whole time because her pet allergies were so intense. We found a fan to put in the bedroom window to try to help, but couldn't help her. Im afraid this is the last time we will be able to stay in Swink. The almost invisible cactus in the "yard" were painful to pull out of my 12 pound dog's paws and nose, and the sand under the house was absolutely covered with someone elses huge dog's poop. We love this unit, but will have to see if you have a similar unit with tile or wood floors. Thank you for the baby toys, highchair and movies, we enjoyed them thoroughly and the goodie bag was wonderful as well! We will miss staying in SWINK for sure!

Swink vacation

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Swink is a great sized house and we loved the layout! It's so close to the beach and has a great view from the deck and upper deck especially. They had pretty much everything you could need there for us. The hot tub was very nice and we loved all the chairs/table out on the deck to use! Also, really enjoyed the hammock swing and chairs below the deck in the evenings. Cons- the back door didn't lock properly and it was clear from the guest book that others had complained earlier in the Summer about it and the dish disposal stopped working. The house also had ants coming in from I believe the deck. It didn't feel very clean upon arrival - I found hairs in the shower and sinks, as well as dog hair all over the master room bedding/couch and the couches out in the living room. The floor also didn't feel super clean on the carpet, which is likely because the vaccuum is so old! I like to clean up each day from any sand and the vaccuum does not work very well on the carpets at all. Further, it states they have a grill - they do, but it is dirty and in a terrible state. I'd replace that grill or get it cleaned up or just not advertise having one at all. Lastly, there is a door right at the entrance leading to the basement. The stairs are very narrow and difficult to maneuver even for an adult. Shortly after arriving, our 3-year old niece opened the door on her own and took a bad tumble down those hard stairs while we were bringing everything inside :(. That door should have a caution sign on it. We bought the child-proofing doorknob cover and left it for future guests, but a sign is highly recommended as well. However, all that said the property management company was wonderful and handled everything great for us that we brought to their attention! The property management company was very communicative. It's a great affordable option for families, but room for improvement and could easily be a great property in Southern Shores!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was very dirty. There was several stains that smelt like pee/poop. There was ants in the room with the two twin beds. The outside of the house was overgrown with weeds. There was several leaks in the ceiling and the wall to the queen bed room. There was a back up in the drains whenever you did laundry. The vacuum did not work well at all, and the master bed room with the tub had dirt in it. We kept our shoes on the whole time due to the carpet being so nasty.

Great house!

Had a great stay for two weeks with the family. Very close to beach and fairly private. Had great amenities. Living space felt larger than the pictures, deck was great, and the eagles nest was awesome on nights with clear skies. Would stay again

Being close to the beach is very nice. I must say that the house itself needs work. The carpet in the main living area is worn with several stains. The tile in the kitchen was sticky and stained. Worst of all, we saw several roaches. Ceiling fans were caked with dust and the wall in 1 bdr had spider webs and dust all around the window and wall. Lastly, the mattress in the Master is years past needing replacement. We will not return after spending 5-6 vacations in the Swink.

Reviewer Comments: Good except when we arrived at 4:00 pm we found the beds unmade and no sheets so we called the reality office and they contacted housekeeping. Service was provided by 6:30. We have been coming to this house for 10 years now. I’m noticing more the walls and fans are dusty. The master bed makes such loud squeaks when getting up and down to use bathroom at now it wakes the spouse up. New mattress recommended. The indoor outdoor carpet throughout the house is old and worn. Lots of spill stains. New carpet is needed and definitely stains removed if keeping the old carpet.

Great Location & House

Snuck away for a working vacation in October. The house is just off the beach, but a little separated from the surrounding houses and with great views of the ocean. It was exactly what we were hoping for: clean, comfortable, and accessible. Best of all, the internet allowed three people to work on-line simultaneously, with limited problems. Nobody needed to know we were at the beach! Would stay again.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great time was had by everyone. The house was in good shape and the rental agency was helpful in the case of any questions. The house is very close to the beach and that is a real plus! Dune buggy rental with Good Vibrations was a great time.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been reserving the Swink for 10 years. The place was spotless, very clean. We noticed the walls were freshly painted and the new rocking chairs in living room. However the carpet needs to be replaced. The master bed squeaks loudly getting in and out of it. Wakes the partner up. Room darkening shades would be helpful. Thank you!
