Nice place close to the beach

Beautiful view off the lanai and a nice unit. Management was very friendly, overall a good place to stay in the middle of Kihei.

We always choose “Maui Sunset”as a “home away from home”. The units are nice, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained, there is security around the clock and the staff is always very helpful. We highly recommend “Maui Sunset Vacation Rentals” when planning your vacation on Mau.A321 is a beautiful unit, with awesome view of the ocean and the grounds; however the living room furniture needs to be replace. Sofa’s and chair’s are very uncomfortable and broken down.The Mstr. toilet/shower room is very small. Outside of that we loved A321 and would book it again.

This time our trip included three separate condos rented by our very large family, all two bedrooms. We had an amazing time, though our particular unit could most definitely use just a little attention. Updating linens, drapes & a fresh coat of paint would go a long way. The view was spectacular & the property is kept immaculate!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 3rd stay at Maui Sunset and we were very disappointed with the unit this time. It was clean on the surface but floors and carpets were dirty area rug in living room was dirty and a trip hazard with the edges turning up. We requested maintenance on a sliding glass door screen and never received a reply or repair. Some sort of response should have taken place. All the TV's did not work properly. The one in the main area would not turn on with the Spectrum remote as was posted on the remote. When we did get it turned on there was no way to control the volume to hear anything. The dust behind the TV and furniture was terrible. The screen to the lanai would constantly come off the track and we had to fix it ourselves. It needs a DEEP cleaning. For the amount we paid for this visit we expected conditions much better than this. We paid a cleaning fee as well as the prior renters so there is no reason this unit was not thoroughly cleaned. This stay did not compare with prior visits. We love the location but were unhappy with the unit. With this experience we could not recommend Maui Sunset to our friends.

Great to have a full kitchen, comfortable beds, washer/ dryer is icing on the cake! And did I mention the views from the deck? We will 100% be back booking the condo. The only drawback is the automatic shut offs of the air conditioning units. I totally understand the need to conserve electricity and not keep them running. But waking up in the middle of the night today warm and sticky bedroom to turn the air conditioning back on was a drive back, but would not stop us from coming back. Closet full of all the things you need for the beach, chairs, coolers, children’s beach toys, even some spare water, shoes and sunscreens left by previous tenants. In case you forgot, something....You won’t be disappointed.

Adequate for Couples or Small Families

Communication and ease of booking/checking in and out was great! The location was also perfect for exploring all of Maui. There are a few thing to be aware of… 1. The place is not cleaned well at all! I actually had to clean the showers before I would let my family use them and I am not even a clean freak. Additionally, there was a thick layer of dust on flat surfaces, and whoever used the pots and pans last did not actually clean them. Gross. 2. I would not recommend the pull out couch for anyone over the age of 5. We actually purchased a blow up mattress at Walmart for our teenager as the pull out is not comfortable and was filled with sand. This property is best suited for 4 people in my opinion. 3. We had to also buy batteries for the remote and lightbulbs for the lights as they were not in working condition. Just kinda annoying to not have spares in the utility closet. But was on trend with #4… 4. There are no basic staples in the rental. So if you plan on cooking in the very nicely remodeled kitchen you will need to buy everything! Including cooking oil, salt & pepper, etc. Also don’t forget to buy ice as there are no ice trays. And last but not least, 5. Property staff are not friendly! Upon checking in at the front desk I walked in and said “good morning, how’s it going?” And she replied “busy. What do you need.” 😳 Overall we made it work and enjoyed the island, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Fantastic View

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Maui Sunset. The view from this unit is wonderful and we loved the nightly sunsets. The bedrooms and bathrooms are quite small, but the living area is large and, really, that and the lanai are where you spend the bulk of your condo time. The Maui Sunset property is extremely well-kept and we found people to be friendly.

The beach is right there to go sit on the grassy shelf and see the sunset touch the ocean. The condo was spotless and so well stocked with everything you need. The beds and pillows were heaven! The pool was cleaned every morning and the grounds were immaculate. Very much recommended this to anyone whether a family or a getaway for couples as well.
