Impresionantes puestas de sol, brisa del mar y tranquilas noches estrelladas te esperan en esta casa muy limpia y acogedora de 1 habitación situada a 400 pies de altura en dos acres y medio en las colinas de la costa de Kohala. Desde aquí, está a solo minutos de las mejores playas (como Hapuna), actividades acuáticas (como navegación, pesca, avistamiento de ballenas, excelente snorkel y buceo), restaurantes y golf que la Isla Grande tiene para ofrecer.

Hale O Pueo está bien construido, es amplio, luminoso y está ubicado donde el sol brilla 350 días al año. Esta tranquila propiedad al final del camino está lujosamente ajardinada con una variedad de plantas y árboles con flores tropicales. We loved our stay. Such a peaceful place with an incredible view. The hale itself is super comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Excellent location for the best swimming beaches on the island, which are a short drive away. We were a bit unlucky with the mosquitoes in what's normally a very dry area—hopefully next time will be more typical. A very special spot that was exactly what we were looking for. Showering under the stars was especially memorable!

20th wedding anniversary

This was the most amazing property. It felt like we were in a botanical garden. Kalia, the host, was wonderful. She was unobstrusively attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. She even let my wife borrow her personal snorkel fins because they had the same size feet. And the shower...so spectacular. It was the perfect paradise. Did not want to leave.

Relaxing Stay close to great beaches

My wife and I had another great stay at Kalia's property. This was our 4th stay with her and it was excellent again. The gardens are still beautiful and we love the elevated view of the ocean. We enjoy being somewhat secluded but also with easy access to all the great beaches and sites north of Kailua-Kona. We particularly enjoyed Kiholo Bay, Makalawena beach, Keawa-iki, and Mau'u'mae. In addition, we took a longer trip down to Volcanoes National Park, but just missed the amazing Kilauea fountaining by 10 hours! Kalia is such a helpful and accommodating host and we enjoyed catching up with her. Mahalo!

Kalia's place is so quiet and serene, the views are stunning. Very clean and comfortable. Kalia was available whenever we had a question before and during our stay. The space is well stocked and there are grocery stores nearby. Beaches in the area were gorgeous and we found a lot of hikes within 20-40 minutes of the house. We had a mockingbird sing to us nightly as it perched a top the cactus out front. The area in which the VRBO is located is beyond perfect for a peaceful, island getaway. We could not have asked for anything more.

A little slice of heaven on earth

This little gem is incredible . The views from the lanai are amazing and the owner has meticulously landscaped the grounds with the most beautiful plants and flowers . It’s truly an oasis away fromThe hustle and bustle of the city . If I could give this place 10 stars , I would. The owner was the most perfect host of all the places we’ve ever stayed. She was very responsive anytime we had a question or were looking for advice on things to see and do. Her hospitality was over the top !!! She is simply one of the best ! Book this one! You won’t regret it !

Perfect stay for our 35th Anniversary!

We stayed for 8 days here and I don’t think any amount of time would ever be enough.When we arrived and walked up on the lanai and felt the tropical breeze coming off the ocean, it was so calming and peaceful! Note that the place does not have A/C—- it does not need it with the cool breezes and the ceiling fans! Kalia was an excellent host and provided detailed directions prior to our stay on getting to the property. Even though she is an onsite host, we felt complete privacy during our stay. After spending most mornings at the beach (the place really IS close to all the best beaches- owner has provided a listing of them in the guidebook), we would come back for lunch on the lanai. Although we had planned on venturing back out for the afternoons and evening, often we just stayed there and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and view. Owner provided everything possibly needed during our stay… and the bed was extremely comfortable! We also LOVED the outdoor shower. Hoping someday we can return to this beautiful paradise!

Great House, great view, great host

The view on the ocean and the sunsets is truely amazing. What makes this place so special is Kalia and her love for a fantastic garden. We loved our stay, the well equiped kitchen and the peace and silence.

Kalia was delightful! The place was adorable and had all the comforts of home., especially mosquito spray! While it would have been hard to find, off the beaten path, Kalia's directions were perfect and she even waited to hear that we arrived safely before turning off her phone. Thank you, Kalia!

Beautiful hale & location

This home is very clean, beautifully decorated and very well equipped. It has everything you’ll need for your stay on the Kohala Coast. The lanai has splendid views up and down the coast & incredible sunsets views. Lots of whale watching, too. It’s close to many beaches, historical sites & good day trips such as up to Hawi & the Pololu Valley Lookout. Kalia is a gracious & helpful host. We highly recommend staying here—5 star all the way!

Paradise Found!

Warning! You may never want to leave Kohalo Estates 😊. My wife and I spent a week here and loved every minute. The views, location , gracious host. Everything you need for a relaxing and perfect time away. Kalia was so nice and helpful. Always responsive but never intrusive. We explored the Big Island during the day but back in time for beautiful sunsets. Could not have been happier with our stay. Mahalo, Kalia, for sharing this piece of paradise.

Wonderful place to stay

This little house is tucked away in the most amazing location away from the hustle and bustle of daily living! Everything was wonderful! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook a few meals, bed was comfortable, lovely outdoor shower, and plenty of privacy. Breakfast on the patio every morning was a real treat! The geckos visited every morning to see what we were eating, so much fun to watch them! Looking up at the stars at night was just amazing. Loved the quiet (note the birds sing from sunrise to sunset), so we knew it was time to rise and shine when the birds awoke. Kalia was a perfect host! Answered questions quickly and helped us if we needed something. Great place to get away and the views are amazing! We were able to see the whales one day when they are active in the water with the binoculars that were provided. Overall great experience, thanks so much for sharing your little piece of paradise!

Second time around - even better

We love this cottage. Absolutely everything is carefully curated. We stayed here six tears ago, loved it then, love it more now. The location is excellent, the decor is superb and the view from the Lani is to die for. Kalia is a wonderful host. I recommend her place unequivocally.

Perfect get-away in Kohala

We absolutely loved our time at Hale O Pueo. The accommodation is very comfortable, and the lanai is a beautiful spot to relax and look out over the lovely garden toward the ocean. Kalia was so pleasant and helpful, and made us feel at home right away. We're looking forward to our next stay!

Rejuvenating and relaxing. Perfect. We never got out of our lounge clothes because we couldn't bear to leave our oasis. The flowers, the birds, the curious sweet little gechos. The kitchen was well equipped. The lanai was so comfortable--even a hammock for naps. Lovely outdoor shower and the bed was so comfortable. Wifi was excellent, if you need it and tv offered sufficient options if you felt you needed that. Overall, so peaceful and just superb.

Oasis

Kalia’s property was an absolute dream. My fiancé and I spent a week at the property and loved it. From enjoying coffee on the lanai in the morning breeze to dinner outside watching the sunset. BEAUTIFUL! We loved all of the flowers and gardens surrounding us and admired the birds singing in the morning. Kalia was so kind and helpful. She was quick to respond to questions and available. She has really made a special place unlike any other!
