If you love the beach, this is the place for you. The walk to the beach is about 2 minutes.

Excellent views, exceptionally clean, convenient location!

This is a wonderful unit with a great view, close to the beach, exceptionally clean,updated furnishings, great location to everything, nice screened in lanai. The only drawback was having to pick up/drop off key cards for the unit at an office, would prefer keyless entry at any beach unit.

A beautiful spot

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the unit was great and would stay again. It was clean, the decor was nice and the screened in balcony with the beautiful panoramic view was the best part. The unit had just about everything you needed to enjoy time with family at the beach or inside the unit. There were a couple minor things that need improvement like the drain in the master shower and there were issues with the smoke alarm going off. The pull out couch bed was so much more comfortable than typical metal frame ones. We loved our stay as a family!

Million dollar view!

The condo has a fabulous view of the Gulf. Loved sitting on the lanai eating breakfast and soaking in the view. Beautifully decorated condo, comfortable beds and furniture. Well stocked kitchen and beach supplies. Only downside was 42 stairs to get to the condo - no elevator, and the noseums are bad on Sanibel right now. Otherwise, LOVED the place!

Relaxing spot on Sanibel

Condo has nice views of the sea and it's a wonderful place to relax. We have gone end of August or labor day time so I can't speak for the high season, but at this time it's very HOT and nice thunderstorms in the evening. We vacation all over the world and there's something peaceful about Sanibel. The shells, turtles, many shorebirds, low rise buildings, that keep it on my list of favorites.

Perfect Family Vacation Spot

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is located close to the beach and pool, and has beautiful ocean views. We had a wonderful family vacation with our 3 kids. The pool is large, and has steps along an entire side, which were great for our youngest to play on. The pool never seemed crowded, and there is plenty of seating. The beach path is well maintained, and the shelling was wonderful as expected. The grills are nearby, and we used them for dinner every night of our stay. One of the best ice cream spots on the island is within walking distance too!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Check in and out were both very easy. The property although pretty and decorated nicely is definately worn. Couch is sagging and the furniture was dirty. Caulking was missing in the shower, and there were razor covers left in the shower. My husband had to get a screw driver and reattach the kitchen cabinet doors. The towels all had to be rewashed because they were damp and mildew smelling.The property needs some tender loving care. It is a beautiful location with a beautiful view.

Shell Island Beach Club - Sanibel Island

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Select Vacation Properties does a great job, have rented from them many times. Courteous, professional and knowledgeable about the property. Two issues that could be improved - one is the delivery of the keys for the unit. Our unit is on east end of the island and we are required to drive about 10 or 15 minutes each way on arrival to the rental office dealing with island traffic to get the keys to the unit. Would be much preferred if they can have the keys on site at the property for us upon arrival. Same goes for returning the keys on departure. Second issue is that the unit is rented by Select Vacation but managed on site by Shell Island Beach Club, whose people, one in particular, is difficult to deal with and has an attitude. Important to stress this is NOT a Select Vacation person (they are all great) but still takes away from the experience.

Quiet, East End Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Shel Island 5D provided a great vacation condo for my family of 5. You can't beat the east end location and the pool at Shell Island is one of the best around. The beds were comfortable. If you're a foodie like me and enjoy cooking, the kitchen is likely to disappoint. While it was satisfactory, the knives were all dull and the layout was clumsy with a small food prep area and a poorly located garbage can. Also, the door to the laundry area was difficult to open and close, while several of the lights in the master did not work properly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay since we were really there for the weather, the pool, and the beach.

The view from the Lanai each day is spectacular and the unit is perfect for a family of up to 6, 4 being more comfortable. There is something for everyone on Sanibel and this is a great spot to experience it all from.

It was steps from the beach or the pool, located on the property. You are walking distance to the Lighthouse or to shops & Ice Cream store. Great location!

We loved this condo. Not only does the whole complex have a great location on Sanibel, we think this is one of the best units on the property. Awesome view and convenient walk to the beach and the pool. One of the closest buildings to the ocean, so you’re not staring at other buildings. We would love to stay here again!

Beautiful oceanfront view

We enjoyed staying on this property. The view was beautiful.The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals.The master shower was very spacious. The master bed was very comfy.The hall bathroom ceiling vent was dusty & needed to be cleaned. We enjoyed the convenience of the ice, beach chairs & bikes that were provided. The unit did not have an elevator but we survived.

Extremely well located, with proximity to pool, beach and amenities. Unit appears to be heavily used (not surprising given the quality of location and views), might well benefit from some light upgrades in the near future.

Perfect first time vacation at Shell Island Beach Club

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fabulous stay at Shell Island Beach Club, mainly due to the amazing condo, it was beautiful. The panoramic view was superb- beautiful at any time of the day or evening no matter what the weather. The condo was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, everything was to a high standard even the beach chairs that were provided. The location was very near to the pool and beach and there were bbq grills available for guests to use. The only slight downside is the lack of an elevator and with the apartment being on the top floor, if you had mobility difficulties this would be a challenge, particularly if you had luggage to carry up the stairs. It was fine for us and would not put us off staying again but it is worth noting - the lack of elevator was made clear at time of booking. All in all I would say that this is a perfect holiday rental and well managed by Select Vacation Rentals - Nadia was particularly helpful.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is lovely. We definitely recommend it. Select Vacation Properties is very professional and provide excellent service. This is our 4th year at Shell Island, but our first year in 5D. We plan to return again next year. Just a few items need upgrading such as bathroom and kitchen towels, kitchen knives, the coffee pots, and bed sheets. The ceiling fans all need to be serviced, as they make a lot of noise when they are set on the faster speeds. The door to the commode area of the master bath needs repair - it doesn't close, and the vent fan in the commode area doesn't work. The washer and dryer work great. These are minor things that we understand can lose quality over the busy rental season; however, they're the little things that make a week-long stay much more enjoyable for the cost of the rental. We love the location of the rental property. The view of the ocean is fabulous. An elevator would be helpful, especially for more elderly vacationers. Getting luggage and groceries up 3 flights of stairs is difficult. We highly recommend Doc Ford's for lunch or dinner. Traders is a wonderful place for dinner, as well. Cip's is fabulous, although we didn't make it there this year, opting instead for Traditions. The food here was excellent. On the Friday night we were there, they had a piano player and a sax player playing light "elevator" music. It took us back to the vacation resorts of the 50's and 60's, but don't let that worry you. It was a very enjoyable evening even for our 19 year old daughter.

Condo had everything we needed. To get these amazing views you are on the top floor so you do need to walk up a couple flights of steps but for us it wasn't a big deal. The rental company was very easy to work with.

Beautiful Condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Remodeled and well done. Pretty colors and the closest to the boardwalk coming back from the beach and to the pool. Equipped with beach chairs, a cooler, beach towels and an umbrella. So save weight in your suitcase if flying ;) The umbrella was broken however the beach was nice and windy so we were ok. The bed broke upon our arrival but the handyman came quickly to fix the issue. I believe this was mainly done by prior guest shoving suitcases underneath the bed repeatedly and breaking the foot joints. Fans can be changed or renewed, they were pretty loud. Dishes were put away dirty so we had cleaned them as we took them out to use them. Overall though-it was a nice stay.
