Resort is beautiful; our condo was in need to better upkeep

Positives: beautiful landscaping, big pool, quiet location, no one on beach, beautiful view, beach cleaned daily, attentive and responsive staff and good restaurant. Negatives: condo had missing tile in kitchen, was in serious need of TLC throughout due to cracks and little maintenance in bathrooms, curtains don't block light in either bedrooms, missing light bulbs never replaced, flat pillows, remote location that is a 30 min drive from most everything, lots of seaweed naturally in ocean in this area that washes ashore, restaurant only has 2 people so service is quite slow and wifi and TV very inconsistent unlike other parts of the island we have stayed. And like previous reviews there are tiny ants throughout kitchen. I would recommend the resort to get away but not the condo we had. Too bad the units aren't nicer; this could be a very nice resort.

The Good, The Bad & The What you NEED to know

First of all, I want to state that I have owned a VRBO home for 6 years so I am taking that into consideration when making this review. These are things I just feel as though renters need to be aware of whether they are at the fault of the property manager or not. The Good-Feb and weather was amazing, water was perfect on the other side of the island or in Grace Bay(this location does not have any reef or wind breaks so extremely windy but perfect for not getting too hot), resort grounds are well kept and beautiful, pool & hot tub were clean and amazing, grills were huge and made grilling dinner easy, cable tv and wifi was a much added bonus. We also enjoyed being in a gated community. The Bad- unit in the photos was not the unit we were given to stay in. Listing stated 3 bedroom(king, queen, queen beds) with full balcony and what you are actually getting is a 2 bedroom unit(king and fullsize bed) on a corner unit that is 100 square foot smaller. Upon speaking to others at the resort, this seems to be a common occurrence. Currently speaking to VRBO about this situation to hopefully rectify for future renters. We were given 4 beach towels and 4 bath towels for 7 days/4 adults and after asking for replacements, we were given laundry detergent to wash them. The Need to know- Restaurant is closed and will most likely not ever reopen(which is a shame, but COVID....). Absolutely no condiments for cooking(sugar, oil, coffee, flour, spices) because anything that is left behind by other renters, is taken home by the cleaning lady and everything on the island is 4x what normal pricing is so prepare for that. The resort is a good distance from anything else so you won't want to just "run to the store" if you forget something. We were given 4 trash bags for trash (again 4 adults/7 days) so we had to get creative. The road to the Resort is gravel for approximately 3 miles, which wouldn't be a deal breaker for us but I just feel as though renters need to be aware of this. Be sure and look at the location before you rent, North West Pointe Resort because you will have to have a rental car. If your kids love the ocean, this area is not for you because swimming is not feasible with all the sea weed and extreme wind. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at T&C because it was 80 and back home was -8, however, we did enjoy getting back to a king size bed. The unit that we stayed in was nice but misrepresenting what you sell is very shady.

Terrific apartment in a very quiet and somewhat remote location

The apartment was great - very clean and comfortable, and everything one might hope to find in terms of mod cons and utensils. It is located in a 2 building complex in a somewhat remote and yet to be built up area. While during non-covid times this location is no doubt busier, last week it was practically empty.

Spacious and comfortable with the best ocean views

Lisa at Northwest Point Resort was great and we will definitely be back! Loved the condo and the location was nice; we probably saw 15 people over the 8 day’s we were there. Very relaxing, and loved the beach and pool area. We rented a car and everyday packed a bag of snacks and explored all the many beautiful beaches. Just perfect for our family.

away from the crowds

the beaches are delightful and the property was just as described and photographed. the first time you drive out there seems like a long way but by the time we left a week later it had magically shrunk in time. everybody there was very friendly and met some very nice people.

We LOVE this property and LOVE this island. It is simply an oasis in paradise. Forget the crowds of Grace Bay, stay here!

Good and bad

This condo is remote and quiet which is what we expected. A rental car from a local rental agency in Provo was reasonable and essential. We were not happy about not being able to check into our 2nd floor room when we arrived. Instead we were put in a 1st floor room with a good view of vegetation, not the water. Lisa told us that this was due to some burst pipe problem and we would be moved the next day with help from her staff. We finally reached Lisa around 3:00 the following day and ended up repacking and moving ourselves to the 2nd floor room that has an awesome beach and ocean view. Lisa said she would comp our first night and she bought our dinner the last evening to make up for the inconvenience. I suspect our room was double booked on our arrival date which is never acceptable. Our three day stay in a beautiful location got a difficult start.

Quiet and relaxing stay

Just returned from a week's stay in this condo at NWPR. This resort is off the beaten path but well worth the drive (only 15 minutes from airport). We pretty much had the resort to ourselves which was lovely. The grounds are well maintained and the staff was friendly. We were able to lay on the beach (equipped with chairs and huts for shade) and RELAX after exploring the islands each day. The ocean at the resort has a lot of sea grass but a short walk either way on the beach and the swimming is nice. The pool and hot tub were great. Our condo was well equipped and offered an amazing view. The washer and dryer in the unit was so helpful. We cooked almost every evening and had everything we needed. The kitchen facet did break two days before we left but we made do as we were in paradise and who cares about a kitchen sink =) Lisa, the condo owner was very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. Overall I would recommend this condo and resort for anyone wanting privacy and peace and quiet. The islands are beautiful, and we spent everyday exploring. The condo was just what we needed after long days on the go.

The property was quite nice, well kept and clean

Well......If you need any sort of reliable internet do NOT come to Northpoint. They list wifi internet. There is intermittent wifi access at best. I need Internet to stay in touch with my businesses and was extremely frustrated the entire stay. There was no solution to the lack of internet service. I extended my stay for four days after the first three day PRIOR to my arrival. After three days I was informed I needed to "check out" and the "check in". Ok no big deal I guess. But I had to ask for additional towels. We did NOT get clean sheets. The towels were dropped by the front door in a big plastic bag. I am very unfamiliar with such terrible service and I have stayed at many condo rentals both in the US and abroad. People below us were smoking outside on the patio as well. That stinks! The front dest/office is virtually incapable of addressing, solving or usually even remembering requests. I would highly not recommend North point The weather was nice!

O/K but probably wouldn't stay here again

1 - Upon arrival, we became aware that they had booked our unit (after we reserved and paid for it) and was given a lesser unit infested with tiny ants. Everything had to be stored in the fridge. They were even in the dishwasher! After voicing our dissatisfaction, we had to spend a few hours packing up and moving to the original unit after the other people they had rented it to had left. 2 - Unit itself has a beautiful view, comfortable bed, kitchen. Shower and sinks don't drain properly for some reason. 3 - Double check the restaurant hours etc. They had just opened when we arrived but didn't open until 11am so no breakfast menu. I believe this changes depending on which season you visit. 4 - The beach is not great, there is a lot of seaweed and flies. They comb the sand with a large tracker type vehicle which takes place for a few hours everyday starting from about 9am. Not ideal if you want to spend some morning time on the beach. 5 - The place is very isolated, a car is a must. There is nothing within walking distance. Not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely something you might want to know. 6 - Staff was friendly.

Fantastic Property!!!!

This place is amazing and I can't wait to return!! My family and I pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves and could walk for miles without seeing other people. It was the most relaxing vacation we've ever had. The unit is very clean and comfortable and is even nicer than the pictures. The entire complex is beautiful and well maintained. Lisa and the onsite property manager was very responsive and accommodating as our original flight was cancelled and we arrived a day late. The property sits alone outside of town and is a 15 to 20 minute drive from the airport, restaurants, and shopping so a car is required. If you are looking for a beautiful relaxing place to stay this place is for you.
