Esta cabaña histórica se ha actualizado recientemente con nuevos electrodomésticos y accesorios de cocina y baño, televisores LED, WiFi y terraza ampliada. Es muy moderno y está convenientemente ubicado en el Heart of the Homer Spit, que lo coloca a solo unos pasos (literalmente) de tiendas exclusivas, restaurantes de primera categoría, hermosas vistas de glaciares, excursiones de pesca de clase mundial, playas de arena perfectas para bodas y todo lo que hace Homero asombroso. No olvides tener tus cámaras listas para la vida salvaje. Las nutrias, leones marinos, águilas e incluso algunas ballenas de vez en cuando parecen estar posando. Desde los barcos que pasan hasta las vistas volcánicas del atardecer, esta cabaña lo ofrece todo.

Nuestra cabina tiene entradas externas separadas (solo) para la parte superior e inferior de la cabina. Esto también permite que la cabaña se alquile por temporadas si no necesita acomodar a 7 personas.

Si tiene fechas en nuestro calendario, digamos reservado, pregunte ya que algunas personas alquilan solo un piso.

Si una boda en la playa es su razón para venir a Homer, háganos saber cómo podemos ayudarlo. Tenemos la cabaña frente a la playa perfecta para el día con muchas otras cabañas cercanas para familiares e invitados. Incluso podemos hacer parte del trabajo de piernas antes de su llegada.

Spectacular

Our place was amazing! We were right on the ocean and once I shipped my husband and my son to their fishing hole I could go grab a glass of wine and appetizer right next-door. We will be back!

The Spit

Great/unique location right over the water! The waves crashing under you lull you into a deep sleep; woke up to otters floating out back! Well-appointed unit with everything you could need for a stay on the Spit. (Highly recommend the restaurant next door “Fresh Catch” terrific food and excellent service.) I was traveling with my husband, and three adult sons- plenty of room for everyone and their gear. We would absolutely stay at, and recommend, Wheelhouse.

Such a unique place!

We’re still talking about our one-night stay here as being a highlight of our Alaskan fishing adventure! It’s such a unique place and was perfect for the four of us (2 downstairs and 2 upstairs). For such a small place, it amazed me at how the owners had thought of and included everything you need! And when our charter was canceled last minute the next morning, the owners gave suggestions on who to talk to for alternative plans, and we ended up having a wonderful day on the Spit. Don’t hesitate to book this place!

Family trip

Such a fun place for kids. I’m surprised we were able to get them to leave. I’m sure this will be the rental that is the measurement of all other rentals in their travels. None will compare to being right on the beach. If the opportunity arises we will definitely stay here again. I don’t know how the owners can change the wording of how the property is laid out to make it more clear about the two areas being separate but I’d suggest they do that.

North to Alaska Friends 2024

We were a group of 6 friends that stayed that stayed for one night of our 1600 mile road trip around Alaska. This is such a unique little stay right on the Homer spit! The cabin was so cute! It was very clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The views are spectacular and the ocean is literally right outside your door! - we’ve never stayed closer! We would definitely recommend!

Great place to stay in Homer!

This is our third or fourth time staying here. Always a great place to stay. Well located. Super clean and feels like a home. Owners are always easy to get a hold of and a pleasure to deal with.

So cute!

This property is amazing! The downstairs is super cute and the kitchen has all you’d need. The upstairs was perfect for 2 older teens to have their own space. Everything on the spit is easy walking distance. Loved it!

Amazing location!

Best spot on the spit! Fell asleep to sound of waves and sat on back deck watching otters swim by. Central to all restaurants and charters. Attention to detail and cleanliness of home along with location was perfect! Owner goes out of their way to ensure you have everything you need.

Charming and Comfortable

Our family of 5 adults and infant grandson enjoyed two nights at the Wheelhouse. Owners have anticipated visitors’ needs in every way and make themselves available, if needed. I grabbed the wrong set of keys and got locked out. Even though Konna was traveling, she made the necessary calls to get us squared away. Location on the spit is excellent! We’re in Homer nearly every year and will definitely make the Wheelhouse a return stay!

Life on the Homer Spit

We loved staying right on the Homer Spit. The upstairs deck has such an incredible view of Kachemak Bay and the mountains. We loved sitting up there playing cribbage and drinking wine. All of the necessities were provided. It would be nice if the upstairs room could así have a double bed so two couples can be more comfortable. But we made it work! Being out on the Spit was amazing. Thanks for having such a great place from which we could enjoy Homer!

Great location! Comfortable Stay.

This property is in a great location! Oceanside with great views, near the fishing charter pick-ups, shopping, and restaurants. Even in walking distance to the Salty Dog Saloon. The inside is small as advertised but comfortably slept 6 friends with the bonus upstairs apartment. I will definitely be looking to rent this place again for my next visit to Homer!

Homer spit stay

Loved this place! Lots of character with a sea theme from the decorations to the setting with its views. Very comfortable. We had five people and it worked well for us. Super convenient location.

Fishing Cabin

Fit the reason we stayed in Homer, a fishing trip. Plenty of restaurants and shops with just about every souvenir you would want from Alaska. Homer Fished Adventures the Black Pearl with Captain Forest Luking was great! The host of The Wheelhouse answered questions promptly and were very helpful.

Awesome cabin, fun location

This cabin exceeded our expectations and was perfect for our family (2 adults, 2 teens). There is definitely room for a couple more! The upstairs access is separate from the downstairs but we felt safe and comfortable with our teens being there… and of course, they LOVED it. You can’t get any closer to the beautiful rocky beach in Homer.

Cozy accomodations, unique experience on the boardwalk!!

This was a very unique place to stay in Homer. A bit noisy with the cafe next door, but not bad after it closed. Very nicely decorated and overall very comfortable. Upstairs was very quiet and had nice room darkening shades as it never really gets dark in AK in the summer. It was a little weird getting used to going outside to access the upstairs, but thats perfect if you have older kids or another couple. Would definitley stay again!!! Saw a big cluster of sea otters in the bay!!

Great view of the water from the boardwalk. Nice food and shops right next door. Walks on the beach included. Fun nautical theme to the room. A bit quirky as you have to walk outside stairway to get to the bedroom and shower that is upstairs. Downstairs has bed, shower and kitchen.

This property was absolutely gorgeous. The kids had a wonderful time playing on the beach and checking out all of the shops. The candy store was probably their favorite 😁. The beds were comfy, the space was cozy and for the location it was surprisingly quiet. The owners are excellent communicators and you can tell that they put a lot of thought and love into the property. Thanks for a great time with family!

Wonderful!

We stayed Memorial Day Weekend for a fishing trip. The property was beautiful, right on the water, and easy access to shops on the boardwalk. I would definitely stay here again!

Right in the heart of the Homer Spit, on this boardwalk alone you will find: Food (from 4 restaurants including world-class entrees, artisan dogs, Thai food and ice cream), Fun (boardwalk games, a bubble station, beach bonfires and the swings underneath) Unique shops (with sea salt. t-shirts, art galleries and a candy shop) and best of all Memory Makers (our cottage for great getaway, photo stops with Big Bear or a submarine, the kiddie boat and even a tattoo parlour).

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The decor is intended to mimic the inside of a ship (hence the name, The Wheelhouse) and it feels so appropriate when you hear the waves just outside your door lapping on the shoreline. The view has been described as “amazing”, “unbelievable”, “incredible” and “breathtaking”. It is what you will fall asleep to and awake with each day. You may even catch a glimpse of a gorgeous bald eagle sitting on one of the rooftops, a cuddly otter floating by at almost any hour of the day or whale spout that can keep you focused on the ocean for so long you may forget time, so have your camera ready!
