The house is perfectly appointed for cooking at home and is walking distance to downtown restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops. Communication with friendly staff was easy when needed via text messages. The home and yard are nicely maintained - perfect for our 2 person stay and our two little dogs.

Appliances were top notch and the home even supplied beach chairs and umbrellas. It was nice to have the extra space outside to use as a home office. Would love to stay again at a future date.

Wonderful Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was great, the location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again. The master bedding was so comfortable and wonderful. I would have liked to know the ice maker in the fridge was broken for 6 weeks before moving in. I would have liked more of a sense of urgency when fixing the ant problem, which no one seemed to care about, and there should be instructions on how to use the coffee maker and oven, as they are Italian appliances and I had to google the manuals for each.

Thanks for your review of you stay in Ohana by the Sea. We are very pleased that you would like to stay in the home again despite some of the challenges you faced. Unfortunately in times of COVID deliveries of items like the ice maker were on again and off again continuously and we apologize we weren't able to rectify this situation earlier for you. The ant situation has now been rectified. We have made notes for the House Managers to put some better instructions into the home about the coffee maker and the oven to hopefully make it a bit easier for the next guest. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Lovely stay in Carmel

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ohana by the Sea is a lovely home. It is well laid out maximizing the common areas while still managing to have a generous primary BR suite and 2 addl BRs. The outside patio with gas fire pit provides a lovely extension to the inside living space and we spent most of our time there. The house had a well equipped kitchen including some common spices. The couple of issues we had were dealt with quickly by the management company. There are only two drawbacks to this home, neither of which would prevent me from renting this home again: one is that it is on a fairly busy corner for truck traffic so the guest bedrooms can be a bit noisy in the morning for late sleepers and two is that the house is an uphill walk from the town and beach.

Lovely Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We spent the month of June in this wonderful property and wish we could have stayed longer! The home is well laid out, and there is plenty of room to gather downstairs to prepare meals, dine, or just congregate in the family room.We especially loved the outdoor area and fire pit. The vibe is even better than the online photos! While we and our guests were quite comfortable, if you don’t like the morning light, you may want to consider sleeping masks as none of the window coverings in the bedrooms block out the light. Also, as another reviewer noted, there is some occasional early morning traffic that can be heard in the 2 downstairs guest rooms, if one is a light sleeper.Neither of these were issues for us, and neither would prevent me from renting this home again. In fact, we are already considering it for a return trip.Lastly, if there were any minor issues or questions we had during our stay, Sanctuary responded in a very polite, professional and timely manner.Thanks for a great getaway!

October 2020 Stay

The house was beautiful and had all the amenities you could think of including beach chairs and even a tent for the beach. The kitchen included Penzy’s spices and Sur la Table utensils and Cuisinart appliances with nice Italian gas stove. The fire pit was great at nite. Would absolutely recommend

Lovely home

Ohana-By-The-Sea is a lovely home. It’s within easy walking distance of Ocean Avenue, and a comfortable walk to the ocean. (Note: it’s all uphill on the way home, though!) The open floor plan and vaulted ceilings made for a very livable and cozy setting. With French doors off both the kitchen and living room to the backyard patio, the inside and outside flow beautifully. The fire-pit was a wonderful spot to hang out in the evening. The house is new construction so bathrooms and kitchen are well-appointed and spacious.
