CityPlex West #1, 2 bedrm two bath, 1st floor

This unit has a ground floor, street facing entrance. It features a complete kitchen with dining area, 2 full bathrooms, 2 Bedrooms, a large living room with wood burning fireplace, a full sized washer/dryer and a room safe. All of our apartments are stocked with fresh towels, extra linens, soaps, shampoo, cleaning supplies and coffee. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook with including some basic staples. ( We provide coffee, sugar, creamer, salt and pepper.)
You can access the building anytime after 3 pm on day of check in by using the coded keypad. We ask that you respect our home and the quiet hours of the community.
Each unit has its own private entry. The property has a fenced patio garden area with outdoor grill that is shared by all. Plenty of street parking available in front of the building. The Wi-Fi is provided for free and is shared by all guests staying on the property. For the safety of our guests we have motion detection security lights and security cameras on the exterior of the property.
Host requires copy of photo ID before sending check in/entry instructions.
Any extra guest(s) that stays without being declared at booking or prior to arrival will be charged $60.00 per person per night.

Smoking/vaping is not allowed inside the apartments. Persons violating this condition will be subject to the cost of smoke mitigation and remediation or a fine of three hundred dollars ($300.00), whichever is higher. Smoking is allowed outside 8ft from any apartment entrance. Please do not toss cigarette butts on the ground. Dispose of them in the the provided ashtrays or the large outside garage cans at the rear of the property.

Relaxing stay in New Albany

When we first arrived, it was not clean as we expected. Our host was easy to contact and understanding. We appreciated goat's flexibility. It is a lovely area close to lots of great food and still quiet at night. This is worth looking into.

Unacceptable conditions

I was really excited to stay here. However, it started poorly when it took me 4 hours to get the access code. Partly my fault because the host needed a copy of my drivers license. I should have sent it ahead of time, but forgot to. No problem, I'll just message him a copy. He would only accept it on WhatsApp and I hate that app. I emailed it, but it was never clear. Finally I set up WhatsApp, sent it to him and he sent the code. Each message between us took between 15 and 60 minutes. Finally, I got in. The cleaning people hadn't been there at all. There was trash in the kitchen, beds not made, bathroom filthy. He kindly offered to move me to another unit. Which was exactly the same way. I agreed to go to dinner while they cleaned it. But then, suddenly his cleaning person got injured and had to go to the hospital. Could be true, but I'm suspicious. I cancelled and got a hotel. I a m very suspicious that this is a scam of some sort, but I'm not sure what his goal is. Overll terrible, and my last rental at VRBO.

Cute, vintage home

I was happy with the property. The only issue I had was that it was musty smelling in the basement area, where one of the bedrooms is. Also, it did not bother me, but I did not see an air conditioner in the basement.

Great location, poor communication

Pros: One star each for feeling safe and cleanliness. Cons: *The owner was very dismissive about things brought to his attention that needed to be taken care of before more guests stayed at the property. Said they were out of his control. One issue was plumbing (shower knob wouldn’t budge) in the upstairs bathroom and the other was a serious health issue in the kitchen. *Had to ask for the entry code. He gave basic directions which were incomplete. *Had to ask for Wi-Fi login. The login he supplied was incorrect, which can happen. However, he didn’t send a correction when I emailed him the misinformation he originally sent to me. Trying to use Wi-Fi during the 4 day stay was extremely frustrating. The wifi service was intermittent at best. At first he apologized about the wifi, then questioned my cell phone plan. Very unprofessional. *As stated in the description, only very basic kitchen supplies were supplied. *The upstairs bed mattress doesn’t fit the frame. There’s a wide gap between the mattress and footboard. *Overall, we were not pleased with the experience.

Beautiful Property

Location and price were great! Had alittle trouble with the VRBO app sending us to a house 3 blocks away but the host was able to send us in the right direction. House could stand to be cleaned alittle. You can hear the neighbors. But it was all we needed for Thanksgiv'n weekend and I would stay there again.

Beautiful Home Close to Everything

This home is so beautiful, if you have time to manage it and are one to enjoy a relaxing night at home make plans to stay in a night here. The Victorian ceilings and other architecture of the home is fantastic. Beds are very comfortable as is the sofa and chairs in the living room. The property is close to Louisville as well as different parks so plenty to do. The only things we can think of is check with the owner if your going to run late for check out, he is very diligent about coming in to clean, and if your going to sit on the patio at night beware of the motion light. We forgot about it and made it turn on at about 2a.

Ok - nothing spectacular

Apartment was not cleaned completely when we got there - dirty towels and sheets left on the table. Everything was dated, no hot water in the upper shower. Very disappointed with the apartment. Are was ok, not too far from the river. Brought up the dirty towels, etc and was not impressed with the response at all. Not ever an apology

Spacious but frequent smoke smell

Pros Clean and spacious. Plenty of street parking. 2 front doors with locks made me feel extra secure. Cons Poor communication at beginning due to the host not receiving notifications when I sent my driver's license day of the reservation via vrbo...he said he needed to get the unit ready for me, which I wasn't notified either once the room was ready The apartment is a private unit in a house. When there were people staying in the other units, it was very easy to hear them talking. The front bedroom was quiet through. The unit almost every day smelled like cigarette smoke until I aired it out. The smell would come back at early hours of the night sometimes too.

Smoke smell, shower.

Property was advertised as no smoking. Previous renter had apparently smoked heavily in property, strong odor. Contacted David he said that why he put the air purifier in living room. Noisy, listened to that for 3 days. Odor still prevelent. Shower know very difficult to operate, hot and cold are reversed. Left property very clean, please credit security deposit ASAP. .
