'Dolphin View' is a 2 bedroom (loft can be used as 3rd bedroom), 2 bath condo located in Duck, NC. The condo has the biggest loft in Barrier Island. Incredible direct ocean views!

First Level: Great Room w/Flat Screen TV, Sliding Door to Outdoor Space w/Amazing Ocean Views, Dining Area seats 8, Kitchen w/Breakfast Bar seats 4, Bedroom w/Queen, Semi-Private Hall Bath.

Second Level: Bedroom w/Queen, Loft w/2 Twins (used as 3rd bedroom), Laundry w/Washer & Dryer, Full Hall Bath.

In addition to its wonderful oceanside location, Barrier Island Station offers a wide array of amenities including: large outdoor pool & baby pool, & hot tub, steam room, game room, fitness room, tennis courts, basketball, shuffleboard, grill areas, and fish cleaning tables (see a complete list below). Additionally, there is a large sundeck and an ocean view snack bar that is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day and a handicap ramp to the beach.

The entire BIS building 200 has completed renovations, including new sliders, windows, decks, staircases, entry doors, and siding.

Great Beach House

The kitchen was well stocked with glasses, pots and pans and utensils. Our only complaint was the light at the entry door was quite bright, and disturbed our sleep because it was shining brightly in the bedrooms. We will definitely return to this beach condo.

So much potential

Reviewer Comments: We recently stayed at Dolphin View, located in the Barrier Island Resort Community. There's a lot to like about this property: it's quite spacious, it is superbly located near one of the widest beaches we encountered, it's got a fun beach vibe, nice views for morning coffee, and a community full of amenities. However, there were a couple of things that left a lot to be desired. 1) The furniture (particularly the couch, but also the beds) could not have been more uncomfortable. The couch has virtually no cushioning, and required multiple layers of blankets to even sit on it without feeling the frame pressing through. 2) The overall furniture condition was quite basic and warn -- there were multiple visible stains on the couch, the dining room chairs; and the two larger beds were little more than basic metal frames with very hard mattresses. 3) The floors felt like they hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long ... walking around barefoot turned your feet black. It's really a shame, because a small amount of investment in this property could really make it desirable, but I won't be coming back.

Plwasant stay at Dolphin View

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was overall very good. We could have done with some instructions with the cooker & Microwave, coming from the UK these appliances are quite different to what we're used to. Also in all the years of renting self catering accommodations in various parts of the USA we have never had to pay additional costs for linen and towels! Cookware i.e pans/lids were somewhat lacking.The only other thing to mention is the the couch, it was extremely uncomfortable and very grubby, it needs to be replaced. We would stay again but the linen costs seem an unreasonable addition to an already expensive rental, and we could hardly bring them from the UK!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property was renovated several years ago. Nice effort but falls short of what one would expect for a week or more stay. The furniture is 2nd rate. Three TVs, only the main on cable; the other two are local channels. Poorly furnished kitchen - example: the only skillet is 8" Biggest issue is outdoor lighting - security light on stairs and over front door inoperable. Caution to people who have trouble climbing stairs - there are many!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The room is in a great location. Close to the ocean and the pool. Condo has a great layout with privacy on the top floor. There is very little insulation, so you will hear every noise. I brought a fan which did help drown that out. Also, the upstairs bed was pretty uncomfortable. The stairs going to the top floor and the couch need a good cleaning. Other than that, it is a great place, just needs a few minor changes.

Terrific home, neighborhood, and rental company

We absolutely loved this rental home. Very short walk to pool and beach, and both were gorgeous. Note that you'll have to walk up to the 3rd floor for this rental. And if you'll be cooking, bring your favorite cutting board (they have glass boards), tupperware, garlic press, etc. Bring sports gear if you like tennis or ping pong. Pack very light clothes - it's steamy!

A nice place to get away.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was pretty much as advertised. Ocean view, clean, and a pool close by. We did have a few issues that took away from the 5 star rating as it took a long time to resolve with multiple follow-ups (TV needed to be replaced), or was not resolved (Dishwasher leaking and were unable to use for the majority of our 2 weeks). Good news: Clean place and the Beds were good. Bad: maintenance issues (noted prior), and the furniture was very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced (especially the couch...ouch); the deck table and benches need to be replaced with the composite furniture as the current one is well worn/splintered/weathered wood. Location was great. It would not take much to get this to 5 stars...just a little attention to make this place a perfect get-away.

Great location

Beach was easily accessible and the pool was great. The outside of the unit needed updated and some of the furniture could be replaced. The unit was not cleaned very well and we found a cockroach on the last day of our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Duck, NC, a quiet little town, so cozy and family/friendly!

This property was perfect for our family and our week get away to the beach! The pool was open so my girls enjoyed swimming even though it was freezing water yet this time of year! Hahaha The beach access perfect and just an overall wonderful experience!

Duck-tastic

Duck is a cute, friendly town, ocean is beautiful. Complex, condo was good, a little dated and nothing unique but clean, convenient and as described. Overall good experience.

Stay at 206 Barrier Island Station

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the unit and thought it was well supplied and furnished. We would stay there again in a heartbeat except for all of the steps. I have a very bad ankle and the was hard. I did find a dead cockroach on top of the coffee maker when we arrived (my son said it was a North Carolina water bug, but it looked like a cockroach to me). This was a very minor thing and would not affect staying there again—-I just thought the owners should know. Great location.

The deck needs deck chairs though, there’s only a picnic table up there and benches which aren’t great for lounging and enjoying the view. The photos had deck chairs so I’m not sure what happened there.

Updated property with great location but not well maintained

Reviewer Comments: The property looks like it was updated recently but it was not cleaned when we go there. There was sand everywhere. The management company was responsive and sent the cleaners back over as well as someone to fix the tub drain. There were also huge amounts of midges outside our door that would swarm in every time we open the door. The management company said nothing could be done so we ended up buying our own bug spray and spraying around the door. There was also a pipe under the kitchen sink that was disconnected and leaking water. We told the management company and they never sent someone over. We finally put a bucket under the sink to capture the water. The dresser in the bedroom upstairs had a few drawers without bottoms. The location and view of the condo was great but it needs to be managed and maintained better.

Fun & Stress Free

The renting experience was extremely efficient. I was to use text the entire stay and never had to wait on the phone or at the condo for someone to show up. It was super easy! The condo was the perfect location to the pool and beach!! If I had to give a negative, with all the hatching of the midge flies, the condo could have been a bit cleaner. There were a lot of dead flies on the window sills at the condo.

Memorial Day weekend

Although the weather was bad, the property was beautiful, perfect balcony spot to sit and watch and listen to the ocean. Our condo provided games so for rainy day we sat and played games and it was a perfect weekend away. Walking distance to shops and food! A must is to try Ducks donuts! Yum!

Easter weekend with friends

Very nice stay, sunrise on the front deck was beautiful. Nicely furnished. We had 6 adults, would be better for 4 adults as loft is noisy. Loft would suit kids fine.
