Location was good. Lots of emails prior to arrival but disappointed when 4 PM came on check in day with no house code …. Had to call get code. Ceiling light in one upstairs bedroom did not work. Called about regular coffee as packet on shelf only had decaf. Called and thought regular coffee would be delivered… never was.

Fantastic location in the heart of Ohiopyle!This house is in such a great location if you’re planning a visit to Ohiopyle. Spacious rooms and great amenities. The TV had numerous movie channels, which is great for the evenings after you’ve settled in. The hot tub was fantastic, very well maintained! The place can comfortably fit 3 families with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen has all you need to cook there and again plenty of space for dining. We absolutely will return to this house when visiting in the future!

Very cute old house that is reasonably maintained on the inside. The sleeping situation was the worst part of our stay. The beds in 2 of the rooms were not very comfortable, but the third room with the more comfortable mattress was very hot and didn't receive good airflow from the a/c. It is in the middle of ohiopyle, so there are street lights everywhere and only lacy decorative curtains on all the windows, so it didn't get dark in the rooms at night either. We tried hanging blankets up but there are so many windows that it wasn't effective. It would be nice to have the option to close curtains for privacy and to shade out the streetlights. This is something the owner of this property obviously has no control over, but the firestation is right next door, and one night while we were sleeping an extremely loud siren went off twice, and a couple other nights it went off at least once. After looking into it that's a normal thing in some small towns in PA, but it was extremely jarring. Overall the house worked well for us, as we were able to pick a bedroom that was the most comfortable, because it was just two of us and our dog.

We had a great weekend stay at the River House. Location is simply excellent, essentially in walking distance of several cafes, restaurants, bike/boat rentals and trails including the GAP. The house is historic and unique, yet comfortable with most modern amenities. Very cozy for an autumn stay. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, the hosts were proactive with communication prior to the visit and responsive to questions during our stay.

Rest & Recovery along the GAP trail

Great place in the heart of Ohiopyle. Wonderful porch view of the rapids, walking distance from food, shops and the GAP trail. Clean and updated kitchen and baths plus hot tub to soak away the aches from a day on the trail.

Great location and atmosphere!

Worked perfectly for our friend group of 6. Within walking distance of the falls, hiking and restaurants in town. We loved the covered porch and deck areas! Wish we had more time to use the hot tub. Highly recommend!

Ohio Pyle home

Good location, with the river just across the road. Easy access to the highway, etc. The house was VERY roomy! And despite being located right on Main Street, it was nice and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay:)

Very convenient, beautiful view.

Stayed for the weekend to celebrate son’s surprise proposal. Not much open in the winter, so house was ideal for hosting her family for lunch. Son’s golden retriever stayed with us too. With no leaves on the trees, nice view of the river.
