Family vacation to Port St Joe

I loved the location and off the road but close to the beach. Our 3 and 4 yr old loved the pool. The 3 yr old learn how to swim while there. I am ready to go back but the price needs to be lower.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a great location. The house needed basic maintenance. Broken chairsLeft at the pool, light bulbs needed replacing. Maintenance was super responsive when our pool heater kept going out. And bears got into our trash. Oh and the sheets didn’t fit the beds very well. The corners came off.

Great week

we come to this area every year for last 7+ years. We had a great time despite a couple of days of mosquitoes swarms(when wind not blowing these things are vicious!) Trick or treating in Port st Joe was a fun time and the kiddos enjoyed the huge paddle board we rented with the equipment credit Coastal Realty offers. Could use a few extra mats and some dusting and be careful not to walk around the pool at the base of stairs(you will either fall in the baby pool end or hit your head on stairs ), but love the master suites and everyone including kids bunk room having each its own bathroom, plus the half bath on the kitchen level. Kitchen is so well stocked with Keurig coffee pots pans etc. Views/sunrise/sets are amazing and beach was so quiet . Even the last couple of days where temps dropped to nighttime 40s- had a wonderful fire on beach. The trading post on Cape San blas is maybe an 8 min trip for nearly all the basic groceries you may run out of and ice cream!! Thanks for a great week.

Multigenerational Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 13 stayed here over Thanksgiving week. Ages ranged from 1 1/2 years to 80 years old. The house had plenty of room for all. I would agree with other reviewers that additional outdoor seating would be nice. One upper balcony had 2 chairs and the other had none. I asked ahead of time about any baby items that were available and was told that there were none, but there was a high chair, pack & play, and a crib. That would have been nice to know ahead of time so that we didn't have to pack those items. Port St. Joe is in the middle of a beach restoration project. They were trucking in sand right in front of the house while we were there. Our grandson loved watching all of the heavy equipment, but it did make it difficult to get to the beach. There is now a mountain of sand that you have to climb over to get to the beach. I'm not sure how long it will be like that, but you might want to check before your stay. It made it impossible for the elderly members of the family to access the beach. Overall, this was a great house for our family. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved the house

There were a couple of problems but they were fixed quickly. The only downside was that the rate doubled for next year and we will not be able to go back.

We had plenty of space for 3 families and multiple kids. The fact that each bedroom had a king size bed was definitely a bonus. The pool was also great! If I wanted to reach and mention a negative it would be the outdoor furniture. Some of the furniture was rusted and falling apart. Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I with our 2 dogs came to Port St. Joe again this year for vacation for the 4th time and loved every minute of it. This is our 2nd stay in a Cape and Coast property and everything was on point as usual. The property was ready on time as expected, and everything was in its place. Unlike many vacation rental properties, Cape and Coast actually sets the thermostat at a reasonable temperature so that when you arrive your home away from home is comfortable from the very first step! Southern Exposure is a wonderful property right on the a beautiful beach that due to so few homes being in this area, you feel like you are on your own private beach. The dogs had a fantastic time at the beach, and there is an outdoor shower and hose on the ground floor so that you can rinse everyone off before coming back inside, or retiring to the fantastic oceanfront pool.Our entire family had a wonderful time here and thanks to the elevator, our elderly family members were able to stay in whatever bedroom they wanted no matter which floor it was on.I highly recommend staying at any property with Cape and Coast, but especially Southern Exposure if you have a large group and a couple of 4 legged family members.

Southern Exposure at the Cape

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The space was perfect for our group of 8, 3 couples and 2 singles, everyone had a king room with their own bath. The house fit our needs perfectly, we love having a private pool (by the end of the week the pool water did get cloudy and could have used some maintenance.) There are a few places touch up painting needs to be done, that's the only thing negative I could even say about the property. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, a crock pot, we didn't need anything in addition to what was already there. The pantry is a huge plus, we were able to store all of our groceries and had plenty of space. The outdoor chairs aren't the brown chairs shown on the pictures they are white and plastic and could use some updating, some had cracks, there was one broken chair left behind the picnic table. My only other suggestion would be to have more outdoor seating on each deck. The second floor deck only had one chair for two rooms. Overall I would recommend this property to anyone, we have inquired about renting again in the future.

The view from the main level deck was unbelievable and the weather the end of April was perfect. The area is exactly what we were looking for and we could not have been any happier. We had one issue with the heater for the pool but the property management got someone out to fix it in a very timely manner. Would highly recommend and will return as soon as we can.

Great Property, remote location

We enjoyed our time at Southern Exposure, the property was extremely accommodating for our family of 11, with every couple enjoying their own bedroom & bath. We chose to come during Hurricane season from Kentucky because my nieces wedding had to be delayed because of Covid. Having a 7 month pregnant wife and 2 year old toddler forced us to be extremely Covid cautious, so we brought all of our food and alcohol to limit unnecessary grocery trips. This location is very remote, as we barely saw anyone on the beach the two times the weather allowed for us to go. Because of the two Hurricanes (Laura & Marco) in the gulf during our stay, the waves were very rough and the wind strong, having a two red flag warning for every day we were there except our last, which was only slightly better at a single red flag. The water was a dark brown color for our entire stay, which was unfortunate because we were only allowed to enjoy the ocean our last day. After speaking to the property employees who came by, we know that this isn't the norm. The pool on site was a lifesaver as we spent the majority of our time there. The property had all of the cooking pans/utensils necessary for us to cook all of our meals without any problems. The views of the beach/ocean from the home are outstanding, and wished we could have had the same view from the pool. We did have to contact the property manager for not having a coffee maker as was pictured (Only a Keurig), and for the ceiling fan not working in one of the rooms. Luckily, a stand alone fan was available because the ceiling fan wasn't able to be fixed until Thursday of or stay because it had to be completely replaced. A coffee maker was dropped off the next day, to the joy of many of my relatives who drink coffee. The elevator on site worked initially, but we had trouble using it at other times during our stay, which wasn't a huge deal. My only complaint, if there was one, was that the dune area between the property and beach was a mosquito haven. We literally were ate up every time we went out. We attempted to go crab hunting one evening, only to abruptly retreat after making it to the beach because of mosquitoes. I'm not sure if the foliage could be cut back some, as that could probably help. Given the Coivid pandemic, this was the perfect stay for our socially distancing family as we didn't have any interactions with anyone other than ourselves our entire stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family had a great time at Southern Exposure! We loved the private pool and easy walk down to the beach. We were surprised by jellyfish in the ocean the first day or two (several of us got stung), but we didn't see any after that. The house was well-equipped - it even had a high chair, even though I had contacted the management company to find out before we left and they said there wasn't one. So we hauled our own all the way down there for no reason. :-( We loved that the adults all got a king room with their own bathroom - that's hard to find - and the kids loved the bunk room! There were a few small maintenance issues (broken chair legs on bedroom porch chairs, lights burned out in bathroom, bathroom door didn't lock) but they weren't a big issue for us and we didn't bother calling maintenance. We had a great time - and we all came home without any viruses! (Many of our friends were shocked that we were daring to go to Florida at this time. We hardly saw anyone outside our own family!) :-)

Wonderful beach rental!!

This property is well laid out for a large family or multiple families. The elevator is a PLUS!! The kitchen as well stocked. We cooked every night. The air conditioning works great which is a big plus. The views are beautiful and the fact that you can drive down to the beach in two minutes was wonderful instead of lugging everything through the sand. We had a great week!! Overall great experience!! The only place we’ve ever seen with five king-size beds- a major plus!

Great visit to CSB!

Our family - 2 great grandmothers (87 & 89), 4 adult children, 6 grandkids (7 - 15), and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Elevator was so handy. Rooms were attractive. Furniture comfy & plentiful. Pool was amazing. Kitchen well stocked! Only 2 suggestions - light on elevator call button needs to be repaired & a boardwalk to beach definitely needed. I spent quite a bit of time everyday picking sandspurs out of our dogs’ coats?& grandkids’ feet). Also, you might warn others not familiar with the area that bug spray (flies, mosquitoes, sand fleas, etc) is a great thing to have on hand!

Perfect family vacation

Wonderful location! The accommodations were perfect for our family. We brought our two 80y mothers, our 4 daughters and They each had their own room and bathrooms. The elevator was essential and it was easy to use. The management was very responsive. We will be back!
