Welcome to Maddie's Homestay - a private and spacious (110 sqm) character home, based in leafy Khandallah, one of Wellingtons most-loved suburbs.

Located just 5 mins walk to Khandallah Village supermarket, boutiques and cafes or just 10 minutes drive to the city centre.

Perfect for a couples’ getaway, a family weekend, or a peaceful weekday retreat while working in the city, this property offers character and comfort.

Enjoy two spacious double bedrooms (one with en suite), a cozy single bedroom, a separate main bathroom featuring a luxurious claw-foot bath, plus an open-plan lounge and dining area with a well-equipped kitchen.

There are two off-road parking spots and it’s located within easy walking distance to the train and bus stops for a hassle-free trip into the central city.

Perfect Wellington Weekend

We were thoroughly impressed with this property and the location, and highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a stay in Wellington. It was a real treat to stay here and we’ll definitely be back.

Quiet neighbourhood close to town.

Really enjoyed the quiet peaceful area. With town an easy 13mins away. Would definitely choose to stay here again. Very warm and comfortable. Thank you for a relaxing stay.

Beautiful house, responsive host

We loved staying at Maddie's homestay. The house is beautiful, it was clean, and Maddie was responsive when we reached out to her. The house is close to a bus stop and a very walkable distance to a decent grocery store. We'd stay here again if/when in the area!

Restful Stay in Wellington

It was a joy to stay at this location - it was clean, quiet, and beautiful. The location is great as it is close to shops and a very easy drive to downtown Wellington. We found it had everything we needed and more, not to mention that it was very well kept and clean. I would certainly recommend this to any others looking for a lovely respite in Wellington.

Great place to stay. Very tidy and clean with comfortable beds. Very convinient to train stations and quick access to the city. Maddie was great at communicating, met us when we arrived and when we left. Would diffenently use this listing again.

Perfect place in Wellington

My family of 5 stayed at this beautiful place. It was absolutely perfect. Maddie had the house warm on a cold winters day, she also made fruit loaf which was a beautiful touch and very much appreciated, she even had milk and butter in the fridge. This was such a nice thing to do as we were in a hurry to get inside get changed to go off to an event we had booked for. I was able to have a cuppa with the yummy fruit loaf. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this place. I definitely would come back again. Thank you Maddie for a lovely stay

The house was very nice. Maddie met us upon our arrival and was very welcoming. My only complaint was that it wasn’t disclosed the oven was not working. It was Easter and I had a plan to cook. Fortunately I am an experienced cook and was able to improvise.

Cute house!

Loved the house, but the driveway was kind of hard to get into. We got confused and went to the wrong one at first. Recommend better instructions on getting into the driveway. Maddie was an excellent host and the house is great! Highly recommend!

Old Charm Accomodation

Comfortable old and charming home. Located in quite a hilly area requiring negotiation of narrow streets with cars parked on both sides, had to take a lot of care as at times there was only enough room for one vehicle to pass through. House was comfortable and clean with all required facilities. Internet modem was located in one of the main bedrooms on a stand beside the bed, which was a little annoying when sleeping due to continuous flashing lights, trade off was the internet speed was really good. To access the property there's a few stairs to negotiate which can make it a bit difficult for carrying heavy luggage and for anyone with mobility issues. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Wedding Stay

We travelled south to Wellington for our daughters wedding. I had some health issues and could not attend. Maddie was very understanding about the issues. My son and wife stayed. They loved the accommodation. Ver up market and met their needs perfectly.. On the Sunday after the wedding they held a small family get together which was very successful. A major thanks to Maddie for working with us. I want to come down to Wellington and stay again. Meet maddie thank her and enjoy what my family did. Overall a strong yes great, repeat booking, what more to say. Thank You!

Short stay in Wellington

We were 2 couples in our 60s travelling around NZ. Maddies home stay was very comfortable with all you could need. The washing machine and dryer was appreciated after driving around the North Island for some days. Beds were very comfortable, two bathrooms were great. Very winding steep roads to drive into town, but short drive to lots of great restaurants and tourist locations. Booking and communication were very easy, would recommend.
