Family Vacation

We had an amazing time! The house worked out perfectly. The location was great. So close to everything. Found a great gym to work out at. Outer Banks Sports Center. The surf was too rough so unfortunately we couldn’t go in the ocean. But sat by the pool and used the hot tub.

Very enjoyable stay

Very nice house on the beach. Excellent location, spacious and well appointed. Overall the property was well maintained, and the management company was easy to contact and readily responsive although we did have an ongoing problem with the hot tub. All other issues were quickly addressed.

Memorial Day Week

Multi-Generation Family Vacation

We had a very enjoyable time. Problems with the property were minimal. The property manager was responsive. However, the stove top needs maintenance and/or replacement as burners were not working properly and small given the size of the house. The biggest problem we had was with the beach as it was difficult to get to the beach from the end of the boardwalk (very steep and soft beach). We had family members from 3 to 75 years old who had considerable difficulty.

Great Outer Banks First Family Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was amazing, clean and had everything we needed. I would not recommend for people that can’t do steps since you need to go up and down to use the pool or go to the bedrooms or laundry room. I definitely got my exercise. Also even though the house was clean we did find a few roaches. Would recommend paying for the heater for the pool if you go after Labor Day, it was well worth it. Overall we would recommend this house for a great location to many good restaurants and right across the street from the Wright museum.

Great Location - Needs Some Cleaning and Updating

Overall, the property provided my family, friends, and I with a great week of fun in the Outter Banks. We got a lot of use out of the pool area and the walkway to the beach was convenient and recently newly built. The outdoor furniture was also noticeably new and a nice surprise. The house unfortunately was not very clean when we checked in - especially the kitchen. The appliances also were very dated and used hard. The dishwasher was in the worst condition. We planned to use the outdoor grill several times during our stay but it was so rusted and dirty we were not able to do so. The propane tank was also empty. Several days into the trip a large leak appeared in one of the bathrooms on the second level. Water leaked down from the ceiling and walls making this bathroom unusable. It was obvious this has been an issue in the past from patches in the ceiling throughout the house.

Just OK but won’t stay there again

Being a full time rental I don’t expect perfection but the issues with our stay are things that should be fixed by the rental company. 1. I let them know the hot tub had no water in it on day two of a 7 night stay. They said they would send someone out and that never happened. So no hot tub was a bummer. 2. We picked up two hand fulls of small glass pieces off the pool deck. Someone had broken more than one bottle and it appears it was never cleaned up. I didn’t call property management because once picked up we felt it wasn’t worth the pool being drained while we were there. But anyone who cleaned the house that walked onto the pool deck would have noticed it. 3. The TV in the main room was not hooked up properly so we spent an hour chasing wires to make it connect to the cable box. There are wires all over with nothing labeled. 4. Their is not a remote for the TV on the main room. There was only a universal for the cable box that turned the tv on and off. The picture was zoomed in so you only could see 1/2-3/4 of the screen. Super annoying when watching sports. 5. Never being to the Out Banks before we didn’t know about the large dunes between the house and the beach. The stairs are helpful but they don’t go to the bottom of the dune. My late 60 yr old year old in-laws had a very hard time getting to and from the beach. They are in shape and walk daily but both have had knees and hips replaced. Beware if you take older folks.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For the most part the house was ok. It did need work on the inside of the house. Every door squeaked from the refrigerator to doors in the house. The upstairs refrigerator had broken drawers and it was a smaller refrigerator. It was a nice location and perfect if you want to have easy access to the beach. The cleaning staff definitely could have done a better job. We found socks in the theater room and other things under the beds. There was a stain down one of the bedroom walls above the headboard. Bathrooms were very outdated. The pool needed a new liner. The patio furniture was probably the nicest compared to any other OBX rental we stayed at. The heater for the pool was nice, but the temperature setting was closed into a box so you had no idea what temperature the pool was, which made it difficult to know how to set the heater. It would have been helpful to have a layout picture on the rental information. Since not all of the kings were masters it made it hard to understand how we would arrange a large group of people based on the bathroom and bedroom set up. All of the pots and pans were scratched so I was glad we brought our own. The kitchen did have plenty of silverware and plates for a large group.

Wonderful House!

The house exceeded my expectations!Pool was great!The only draw back was something that wasn’t the rental house’s fault and no one’s fault but even though it was a beach front property a person could not sit on the deck of the house and see the ocean and people on the beach because of the high dunes. There was a very nice wooden walk with steps up and steps down to get to the beach. It was a big surprise to get to the end of the steps and take a step off and sink down into about 3 inches of hot sand! Fortunately people before us rigged up a rope at the bottom to use to pull yourself up over the sand to get to the wooden steps. My children and grandchildren were a great help getting me to and from the beach! They even admitted to having trouble negotiating it!

Anniversary Celebration

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Horas Feliz to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our kids and grandkids. The house was the perfect size for everyone to come together, but also allow everyone to have their own personal space. The views from the third floor could not be beat. Location was convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. There are a few things that could be done to make this rental perfect:- The pool needs a railing installed. Its was difficult for one of our family members to get in and out of the pool safely without being able to use a railing. - The pool also needs additional seating - very few lounge chairs provided - especially compared to neighboring properties. - Given the size of our group, we ate in for most meals. The quality of the cookware was disappointing - most of it was scratched and damaged. We expected better quality for a rental of this cost. - The dishwasher needs to be replaced asap. Overall, some minor fixes would make this a perfect spot. We would consider it again for a future family stay.
