Overall was a good experience. We never did receive the access code and had to wait until roughly 4pm before we could get in. Since the service was pretty spotty, it would have been nice to have had the code the morning of or the day before arrival so we don’t have any issues with arrival. There was no hand soap. The bathroom was just water in the container and the kitchen had nothing. We used dawn soap the whole time. The upstairs beds were really cool, and we enjoyed them, but it would be nice if they had a way to not rock. The heat we couldn’t quite figure out. Thought it was set at 73 but woke up in the middle of the night to it being 88. Lots of head bumps upstairs (but we’re aware of this being a possibility due to other reviews)! :)The washer took forever to run a cycle, probably at least 2 hours.We used the tub but cold water kept dripping down the whole time from the shower head. Bath wasn’t filling past 5 inches and wasn’t hot at all. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t knock a review down for the minor cosmetics. But we want to make sure others are aware of the things we ran into.The lights were a little hard to figure out, but we figured it out pretty quickly. You just need to check the sides of the lights because a lot of them are switches on the sides. One recommendation we have: invest in a journal book for people to share their experiences (pros and cons) so other guests can see in case they want to know! [if you had one we didn’t see it!]

The cabin was a great location to stay for a few day trips in the area (Galena and Dubuque). Access was easy and everything was clean and tidy. Kitchen was adequately outfitted. Only notes for others to consider: - the loft ceilings are about 5'9, and resulted in some thuds,- the suspended beds are interesting. Fortunately the motion didn't cause any issues, but if you are motion sickness prone that may be a concern. I had figured there may have been some system in place to secure them if needed but didn't notice any.

I do not leave bad reviews ever but this was our wedding anniversary....Property is very dirty. Has mice coming out of an open wall in the bathroom. Beds are most horrible hanging weird things. Its 45 min trip around to the bridge to get to Galena. Not a single porch light worked. Dirty windows floors fousets pots stove ets. Half of the lights in the house dnt work. Eight cheap plugins in a very small space. Barely got a bit of heat to work. Slept on top of the sheets and used my clothes as blanket. Not what it looks like in the pictures. Its just a slab near a field. Gravel oatch super dusty. One plus was the horses next door. Paid for two nights left after the 1st.

Location was perfect for our itinerary. Loved having breakfast on the porch swing observing the wildflowers with butterflies. Nice and cool in the cabin when hot and muggy outside. Only 2 criticisms: would have liked to have tissues and the freezer needed a good cleaning.

Perfect getaway cabin

This cabin was a perfect place to get away from work for a few days. It was peaceful to spend time on the porch each morning! The cabin was clean, in good shape, and had everything we needed!

Cozy cabin!

An amazing cabin to stay in. Though if you are taller than 5'7" you'll have to duck your head upstairs. I personally fell in love with the floating beds and the skylights it certainly add a touch of whimsy to the whole stay. It was also well stocked and furnished.

A fantastic weekend!

The cabin was less roomy than pictures suggested. Definitely not a disappointment, tho. The hanging beds were a concern that I would need Dramamine! lol But they were so very comfortable. Previous reviews about cleanliness gave me pause when reserving this location, but my experience was that it is an older cabin and cleanliness was as you'd expect for the age of the home. Bathroom, bedding, countertops, tables, appliances, etc... were clean and acceptable. My brief communication with Tim and Kayla was friendly, prompt. Should I find myself back in the Bellevue, Galena area, I will definitely consider this location again. No complaints whatsoever and highly recommend.

Good area/im looking at it as a one time accident

Stayed in plenty of cabins so we know what to expect. I’m saying it must have been a one off since we spent over an hour cleaning apon arrival . We took pics just to show before/afters. The kitchen looked like someone took coffee and spilled it over the cabinets,floor,ect. Dead Bugs, were in/ around the the glasses, hair was just laying around , one towel looked like it had been used then folded up to look new/ pee was still on toilet/ dead bugs in the queen bed/ king bed was good though. We left the cabin almost better than what it was when we came.. no place to put garbage outside that will not get torn into by wildlife since the garbage can is broke on bottom and has no lid so we just put the extra bags inside, under the stairs until it was time to go. Could not use the wood burning stove as it has a lot of built up ash and there was no place to clean it out and put all of it, same with the grill. The stairs and loft walkway are super loud so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Good location, property was good except for the garbage around the outside of cabin we picked up and put in a white plastic thing next to it, close to Bellevue and hiking places, forests,ect.. nice dog visited us a few times, hung out on the porch with us.. I’m saying it may have been a one off since maybe the company who owns it does not do actual check ups on the property every time the cabin is turned so they may not know that it was not taken care of this one time.

Stay at cabin

The property was very nice. Could have used some TLC both on inside and outside. The cleanliness of the inside was not the greatest had to rewash most of the dishes and the overall cleaning was not at all done. Most of the light pulls and some switches and even cups up on hooks were too high for the average female. All of the hanging planters outside had dead plants or just dirt in them should probably take down not appealing. The beds were comfortable would have liked to open some windows but most had no screens. Was very quiet and relaxing was nice to sit on deck in morning and evening

Rustic cabin surrounded by corn

Cabin was clean and has very unique comfy beds. We had a little trouble figuring out how to turn on light in the bathroom because the switch is on the light fixture instead of the wall. We enjoyed watching a movie on the comfortable furniture in the living room. If you’re looking for a place to disconnect and get away from everything this is it.

Nice Setup

We stayed here on a weekend fishing trip. Everything was good, would recommend, and would stay again. A few pros, good kitchen setup with little things alread there like coffee, spices, etc already there. Washer & Dryer on site, we never used, but nice option to have. A few things I think could be improved, better lighting in the bathroom, and maybe anchor the hanging beds to something. Thanks we enjoyed our stay!

Cabin Stay

We enjoyed our 2 night stay here. The things we appreciated- host is very friendly & helpful. We asked for more washcloths & they brought us plenty more as well as towels! The firewood was already there for us & burned great! Also the beds upstairs are very comfy. Things we didn’t care for- unwelcome dog & cat, the cabin could use a good cleaning upkeep outside needed a little help& the kitchen has very limited supplies.

Loved this property!

Wonderful place to get away. I'd love to come back when the corn is gone so that we could enjoy time outdoors. I suspect it was so buggy because the corn field is so close. Absolutely loved this home.

Very cozy and unique. We liked the beds suspended from the ceiling. The light fixtures were not easy to figure out, but overall we had a nice stay. If you have multiple people and are staying an extra night you might want to bring extra toilet paper.

Beautiful cabin

This place was exactly what we needed. I loved that I could do laundry as soon as my kids got out of the shower. The pass through window made making dinner a breeze. There’s a cute little grocery store and a family dollar 5-10 minutes away which made getting groceries a breeze. My kids thought the beds were the coolest thing and asked me to do it to their beds when we got home. The yard was huge so we played kickball as a family and had a blast. It was quiet and peaceful. The drive to the caves and the trails wasn’t too bad. Definitely recommend if you’re wanting to see the parks in the area!
