Historic Downtown Carriage House

This upstairs apartment is in a classic looking 1920's stone carriage house in a prime location in center of historic downtown Flagstaff. The property is entirely enclosed with a quaint lighted stone and cedar wall with free off-street parking, stone fire pit and sitting terrace, trees, seasonal flowers and vines, and grassy lawn (Please Note: they all lose their foliage during winter months. Yes, some guests have asked why the landscape color is gone in the winter time ... :). You'll be within just a few minutes walking distance to dozens of shops, restaurants, nightlife, and public transportation. It's warm, cozy, secluded, accessible - you’ll love my place because of the ambiance, the location, and the lighted enclosed exterior and fire-pit stone terrace. This is a perfect place for all types of travelers and activities.

This malapai stone house is a perfect mix of classic and modern, with warm wood interiors and modern updates, including hydronically heated wood floors and a freshly remodeled bathroom. The kitchen is original with a few aesthetic improvements, and the queen bed is new and comfortable. In addition, the entire house is on a charcoal filtration water system.

So cozy

It was unfortunately a quick trip but we loved staying in this cozy place for night! Location was perfect and close to everything. Jac was pleasant and greeted us upon arrival to give us the rundown, which was a nice touch. Recommend!

Cute Carriage House

We had a great stay! Jac was great at communicating with us. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The outside area was a great place to relax after hiking. The location is perfect for walking downtown.

Carriage House

The location is ideal for staying in Flagstaff. You can walk everywhere. The place is cozy and just right for 2 people. Jac (the owner) is very welcoming and response right away to any questions you may have. We really enjoyed our stay.

Comfy and convenient

Jac’s place is nicely set up for any length of stay. He’s decorated with attractive local and historical works and equipped the kitchen perfectly for travelers who tire of having to eat out. The house is a short stroll to downtown and in easy reach of hiking, museums, and other attractions. Very comfortable!

Amazing Experience

My boyfriend and I came to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon and stayed at this amazing place. It's so cozy and homey I definitely recommend for any couple looking for a place to stay for a good price. The host Jac was very understanding and tried to help us when we got lost. Overall the best Anniversary ever and we will be coming back again. Seriously an amazing place and a cute area.

Spotless and beautiful

The apartment was beautiful and in a perfect location for enjoying downtown Flagstaff. I would have loved to hear more about the history of the building when Jac was showing it to us but we were tired after a long drive and didn’t ask. I do regret that. Perfect spot and I would definitely stay there again.

Relax and recharge!

Fabulous stay while in Flagstaff…Jac was extremely communicative, thorough upon check-in; we were about mid-journey on our road trip from MN to the Grand Canyon, and this property was so inviting and relaxing, and the weather was chilly, so we took advantage and hunkered down for the night! Lots of space and the full kitchen is awesome! Even though we didn’t venture out, the property is very close to anything and everything in downtown Flag, you’re just a short walk from restaurants and shopping excursions, and short drives to what Flag has to offer in terms of hiking trails, scenic drives, etc. I used to live in AZ, so to come back as a “tourist”, this was a great place to feel back at home.

My name is John, but I go by Jac. I grew up in Upstate New York, but I've lived and worked in beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona for over 40 years. I’m retire from my job in Astrogeology for the U.S Geological Survey (solar system research and mapping). It was a great career in a great place. I have four grown children, all boys. They are the center of my world! I love outdoor sports, adventure, and travelling to meet new people and see new places. I hope my road takes me to you, or yours takes you to me! Cheers!

The neighborhood is the old residential west side part of Flagstaff. However, it's also right on the edge of the downtown district and in easy walking distance to everything the city has to offer. City Hall, Wheeler Park, and the public library are just one block away; Northern Arizona University is seven blocks to the south; Flagstaff High School is two blocks north; and Lowell Observatory, Thorpe Park, the local softball fields, and one of Flagstaff's famous disc golf courses are just six blocks to the west. In addition, Basha's grocery store is six blocks up Humphreys Street. This is a classic property in a classic location!
