Wake up in a charming historic cottage, sip coffee on the porch then stroll just minutes to Little Washington's beautiful waterfront, local restaurants, breweries and boutique shops. Whether you are traveling with your dogs, in town for our many festivals, visiting ECU, or escaping for a quiet weekend, The Tilted Cottage is designed to feel like your own little home in coastal North Carolina.
The cottage has been fully renovated, impeccably cleaned and stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Enjoy fast WiFi for remote work, central AC and heat for every season, plenty of parking and a spacious, fully fenced-in yard where both guests and four-legged friends can unwind.
A few steps away is the newly updated Bug Park with brand new pickleball courts. A 10 minute walk or short bike ride carries you to Haven's Gardens Park on the Pamlico River where the kids can enjoy a large playground and picnic area or enjoy all that Main Street has to offer. If you don't feel like driving or walking back, take advantage of the FREE Tar Pamlico Trolley that will bring you straight to our front door. Then spend your night relaxing with a book, a game night or firing up the grill with friends.
The Cottage is conveniently located just 30 minutes to Greenville NC airport (PGV), East Carolina University and 45 minutes to New Bern and Coastal Carolina Airport (EWN) making it the perfect home base.

We love staying here and our dog always enjoys the big backyard to run it. While we prefer to stay on the water, this is a very fast drive or a quick walk to Backwater Jacks where we like to dock our boat. Convenient to Food Lion as well! Also, the yard is shaded which is nice during the hot months like July! We will definitely return!

We had a lovely weekend in this cute cottage. Patty is a great host, the neighbours are very friendly and welcoming. Short walk to the thriving Downtown area with shops, bars and restaurants. The large wrap around yard was a huge bonus..our dogs loved it!!

This was our first time staying in Washington and we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! The home was perfect for us and our dogs. They loved the yard, the shade from the trees, and the easy walk downtown. It’s a quick 20min drive to Goose Creek State Park as well which is a bonus!We definitely plan on staying here again in the future, and would recommend this cottage to anyone, especially if you are traveling with your dogs!

We had a wonderful stay in this cottage in Little Washington! The cottage is extremely clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. Our schnauzers loved the huge, fenced-in yard. The location is within walking distance of the waterfront, Estuarium, restaurants, and breweries. The owner, Patty, was top-notch in terms of prompt communication and addressing questions. Highly recommend this property!!

The house was perfect - well apportioned, fantastic location, and huge yard for the pups. Patty was a great host: communicative and helpful. We’ll definitely be back.

What a wonderful place! Perfect for our dogs, easy walk to restaurants and waterfront. They even have bikes! Overall our stay was exceptional. We will stay there again and would highly recommend Tilted Cottage to anyone considering a stay in Washington!

Great home/great host
Our family enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It's a wonderful location, easy walk to downtown, and Washington is a great little town to visit. Patty was a great host.

Very beautiful home and yard!
Family stayed at this cottage for a retirement celebration for my husband. They enjoyed their stay and the location is great! Highly recommend!

Fabulous cottage!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Tilted Cottage. It’s very well appointed, with everything guests would need. So close to the downtown area once you arrive you can walk many places. I would highly recommend this cottage!

Great little get-away
Had a great weekend at the Cottage and loved the communication and kindness of the owner. House is very well maintained, well stocked and was very comfortable. Highly recommend!!!

Wonderful Way to experience Washington
Great location, friendly neighborhood, updated comfortable and spacious cottage...big fenced yard and biggest pecan tree I've ever seen. Gracious, flexible hostess made it easy.

Amazing host’s great communication VERY CLEAN
Beautiful, clean home perfect for our stay. We were in need of coming in early and actually leaving late as well due to work commitments and they were very accommodating. We can not wait to come back to stay in this beautiful home!

The house was great. Very clean and pretty and a huge fenced in back yard for our dog. It was in a lovely neighborhood walkable to the historic downtown. The owner was kind and communicative and very easy to work with.

Charming cottage, great area
The cottage is clean, nicely decorated, and virtually everything is within easy walking distance. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. We would absolutely recommend it!

I love hosting! This is my only property and I handle it myself - no management company can live up to my standards. I have met so many great guests and many return year after year. In fact, two of my regulars have now bought homes in Washington! You'll have all the privacy of your own home but, if you need me, I answer.
I love our two rescued Great Pyrenees (all 200 pounds of them!) and our one little spoiled mutt that we rescued from the woods. I have lived around the world and now my husband and I are happily settled on 5 acres in the forest. Life is good and we are blessed.

The Tilted Cottage is all about family. I fell in love with my house in Little Washington but there was no way that my extended family would all fit! The little cottage behind my house was for sale and we fully renovated it in 2017. Our business was strong until Hurricane Florence hit in 2018, flooding the Cottage with 9 inches of water. It was truly devastating but we were not willing to give up. We gutted the Cottage down to the studs, raised it 6 feet in the air and completely renovated it.. again! It is now better than ever with great upgrades like granite countertops and beautiful flooring throughout. It took 16 months of renovation but now The Tilted Cottage is ready for you to visit! Our large yard is shaded by beautiful old pecan trees and, if you are lucky enough to visit at the right time, you can help yourself to the figs in the front yard. We do not spray pesticides on the trees. Our neighbors are wonderful and you will find dog friendly people wherever you go.

The Cottage sits on a large, private, fenced lot on a quiet street. There are two amazing playgrounds and a dog park up the road. I love being able to walk to dinner in town on these beautiful North Carolina evenings. My neighbors are great people and you will find them very friendly. In fact, I'm sure Washington will be one of the friendliest towns you will visit!
