Enjoy a secluded mountain vacation or an extended stay in the Pikes Peak Region of the Colorado Rockies surrounded by the Pike National Forest. Our fully furnished home is located in a pristine environment, with wildlife sightings and magnificent sunrises/sunsets and night skies in addition to hiking trails, whitewater rafting, Gold Medal fishing in South Platte River or Manitou Lake, horseback riding, and other activities.
The house-retreat is conveniently located only 15 miles to the alpine-style Woodland Park with all city amenities and 30 miles to COLORADO SPRINGS.

At sunrise and sunset, colors play off the rocks in a constantly changing show...Each guestroom is tastefully appointed. Neutral earth tones add to the tranquil environment for your comfort. Settle into quiet relaxation or take off to enjoy the forest, the mountains and nature, hiking trails, and prolific wildlife. Walk along the street for a couple of miles to enjoy the spring, wildflowers bloom along the pass...Have a picnic - food always tastes better outdoors. You can take a book or just enjoy nature, or watch the stars right above you - they seem to be so close: you lie on the deck at night and marvel at stars that never seemed so bright before... Watch beautiful sunsets, enjoy panoramic mountain views, relax on the deck with a glass of wine or a cup of tea...
PIKES PEAK RETREAT is a perfect home base for exploring the Pikes Peak Region: Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, Historic Manitou Springs, and Historic Old Colorado City(a part of Colorado Springs) and Colorado Springs. You will find a lot of information about area attractions, maps, and visitor guides in the living room.
If you enjoy hiking, biking, there are a lot of trails around. The Pike National Forest, located in the heart of Colorado, is probably the most well-known and popular National Forest in the state. Pike National Forest offers a variety of recreation opportunities: trophy trout streams, abundant and varied wildlife, seven Fourteeners (mountains with peaks above 14,000 feet), many miles of trails...If you would like to explore other areas, Mueller State Park’s 50 miles of trails also provide a great 'playground' for the hiker, mountain biker, wildlife watcher, and winter sports enthusiast. A popular wildlife watching area. Park visitors traverse the park’s numerous trails on foot, snowshoes, cross-country skis, horseback, and mountain bike, depending on the season. Fly Fishing – Gold Medal fishing can be found in the famed South Platte River located approximately 7 miles from the property. Gill Trail offers Gold Medal catch-and-release fishing along the Platte River.
In the winter, go cross-country skiing right from the doorstep. There are trails and roads in the adjacent Pike National Forest. Great trails for mountain biking. No need to bring your bike you can rent bikes and get trail information at Woodland Park Shop (Team Telecycle).
The property has 3 regular bedrooms + 1 small (non-conforming) bedroom + a loft and two large bathrooms.

The house has a limited occupancy of up to 4 residents due to the septic system limitation.
The lake across from the home is a private lake. You may walk around the lake and enjoy its beauty, but the guests may not use the lake for swimming, fishing, boating, or any other water use due to liability.

I LIKE TO COOK AND YOU CAN FIND ALL SORTS OF SMALL APPLIANCES AT THE PROPERTY FROM ESPRESSO AND CAPPUCCINO MACHINE TO QUESADILLA MAKER. ON THE PICTURE: KIDS IN OUR 'BACKYARD' - PIKE NATIONAL FOREST -EXPLORING THE BEAUTIFUL NATURE AROUND...

WE ENJOY BEAUTIFUL NATURE SURROUNDINGS, GOLD MEDAL FISHING ON PLATTE RIVER, WILDLIFE, SCENIC DRIVES...THERE ARE 'MOUNTAINS' OF THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA. PREVIOUS YEARS WE WERE EXPLORING COLORADO SPRINGS ATTRACTIONS SUCH AS GARDEN OF THE GODS, PIKES PEAK COG RAIL, SANTA'S WORKSHOP AMUSEMENT PARK, CAVE OF THE WINDS, SEVEN FALLS, INDIAN CLIFF DWELLINGS, CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN ZOO, ETC. THIS YEAR WE WENT TO DINOSAUR MUSEUM IN WOODLAND PARK - THEY ACTUALLY 'DIG' THEIR OWN EXHIBITS. WE VISITED FLORISSANT FOSSIL BEDS NATIONAL MONUMENT - ABSOLUTELY UNIQUE PLACE. HIKING TRAILS THERE TAKE YOU MILLIONS OF YEARS BACK IN TIME. YOU CAN SEE UNIQUE PETRIFIED REDWOOD TREES AND FOSSILS. THIS SUMMER WE WENT TO ROYAL GORGE PARK. EVERYONE HAD FUN! WE ARE PLANING TO VISIT CRIPPLE CREEK AND VICTOR HISTORIC MINING TOWNS AND HOT MINERAL SPRINGS.
