Enjoy your outdoor adventure in the historical, small town of McCloud, located at the base of snow-capped Mount Shasta. Walking distance from downtown, this mountain wonderland offers hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, golfing, horse riding, boating, skiing, and much more with untouched beauty.

Stay at The Mountain House in McCloud. This charming historical house, recently updated 3 bedroom/2 bath home has everything needed for a carefree vacation. It sleeps 7 guests comfortably. We have fast reliable WiFi and cable.

This spacious home features a large living room, a dining room that seats 8, a family style kitchen, bonus room with washer/dryer and air hockey, front and back deck for full views of Mt. Shasta, and gas BBQ outdoors. It is located on a quiet street, only a short walk to downtown and only 5 miles to Mt. Shasta Ski Park entrance.

We enjoyed our time here very much. Them location is perfect, for a view of Mt Shasta , and within walking distance to everything we needed in town. The house is comfortable. We would use it again

We really loved the place and felt very safe and relaxed. Loved the proximity of the big park , HooHoo, and the walking possibilities up past the fire department. The yard was big and well cared for but limited comfortable seating and no shade...also no fencing for our dog. That didn't realy matter because he stays when told and he had lots of romping time with the neighbors dog. We usually camp when we're up there but will definitely stay here again. Oh, well equipped and friendly kitchen!

We went there so my husband could go fly fishing. The location was perfect for that. Quiet town with not a lot to do. Very good meal at The Butcher Block Grill, formally The Meat Market. The staff was very friendly.

Great location for skiing.The check in and check out were easy.The house is spacious with plenty of beds. Host was easy to contact for any questions. The house has plenty of pots and pans, comforters, towels etc. Will definitely stay here again.

Very quiet house and neighborhood with view of mountain. Clean and well equipped. Quick replies from owner on the VRBO website. The only problem is locking and unlocking the front door from the outside is not easy. Seems to be something not perfect with the mechanism. Easy to lock and unlock from inside but difficult from the outside.Would stay there again :)

Caleb is an excellent host. The mountain House is perfectly appointed for extended stays. The beds and bedding were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the layout and atmosphere of the home cozy and inviting…true to the spirit of McCloud. The location is great for walking around the sweet little mountain town and close enough to Mt. Shasta and Dunsmuir to access restaurants and activities. I highly recommend The Mountain House for a relaxing getaway and proximity to Snowman’s Hill, the Nordic Ski area and Mt. Shasta ski slopes.

Perfect little spot!!

This is a great house for family to enjoy a get away!! Only a few minutes from Mt. Shasta for snow play which is why we were visiting! We will be back again!

We are an outdoor family of 6 that has fallen in love with McCloud and all surrounding towns. We have 4 grown sons that grew up camping, hiking, riding, skiing, and fishing McCloud. We recently purchased The Mountain House from a great family who had owned the home for 65 years.
