Easy walk to beach

Huge home super close to the beach

It's rare to find a large home that can comfortably accommodate so many different couples and their children, but this one did! Loved the large back patio, two long picnic tables, and fire pit. It was a great place for all to gather and enjoy the weekend!

Absolutely seamless reservation, check in, and check out process. House is old but kitchen and baths newly remodeled. Comfortable lodging, super location, and everything a family might need is readily available

Fabulous Stay!!

12 women stay ~ wine trail weekend!! The house is huge ~ plenty of bathrooms to for all these women!!! The decor is awesome!! Loved the retro vibe!! Can't wait to come back!!

Memorial Day Weekend Get Together

Great place to stay, had all useful tools for the kitchen and the gas grill for the large meals we made for a very wide assortment of ages. Kids loved the patio area where they could play and hang out even when the weather wasn't the best. I would 100% recommend Craig as a host and would easily stay at his property again... just need to be promised warmer weather next time :)

Amazing beach location

This is a wonderful house that is steps away from the beach. We loved being able to walk whenever we wanted without packing up a car. Beach was lovely and not too crowded. House decor was nice and everything was clean. The nearby zoo is a must if you have little kids! The actual town is a bit depressed; no quaint downtown etc. also, be careful on bunk beds as the ladders were not firmly fastened. All in all, great stay!

It's a great well-loved beach house for our large group of family and friends!

This is our 2nd time to the Georgia Ave house. The updates this time were lovely. We loved the redecorating, new mattresses, linens, landscaping etc -- it's not the Ritz but it's just perfectly comfortable for our group. We love the location - a nice walk over the dune to a fantastic beach. Linda, the property manager, is wonderful and very responsive, as was Craig, the owner. We are already planning our next trip back.

Amazing

We have been renting from VRBO for a long time and the single best property we have ever stayed in..clean, great maintenance, amazing location and very quiet. Craig was tremendous in communication before during a d after. Not a matter of if if a matter if when we will come back. Been taking family vaca for 30 years as an extended fam of 30 and we all agree the best trip we have ever taken. Thanks Craig!!!

First Visit!

A spacious, comfortable getaway for our Family at Thanksgiving. Beds were comfortable, lots of linens, towels and dinnerware for everyone and the second floor sitting area made a great area for the kids to use their PlayStation. All in all, a wonderful vacation with lots of memories made. Close proximity to the Outlet Mall, some great Restaurants and we even ordered pizza one night. Being from Chicago, (who really has the best pizza around), we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious Albano's was! We would definitely recommend this home, especially if you have a larger group. You can have privacy when you want, or sit together at the huge table and play games. The kitchen is a bit small, but didn't deter us at all from cooking a huge Thanksgiving dinner. We're already making plans for next year!

We had the best week at La Terrazza

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Craig was easy to work with and his communication was the best. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the walk to the beach was so easy (even for my 82 year old mom). I highly recommend La Terrazza to any family looking to enjoy a summer in Michigan (Indiana)!!!

College Family Reunion

Great stay at La Terrazza! We had a large group of 14 adults and 7 children (ages 1 - 5) and it was very comfortable for all. Plenty of space on both first floor and second floor as well. Basement is recently finished with tons of storage space, kitchen and wash area. We did not need to leave the area because the beach is just a short walk away, but the local recommendations for groceries and take out were well appreciated. Looking forward to staying again in the future!

We always have the best time staying at this property. The home has just the right balance of together space and private space for large parties (20+ people). It is clean, close to the beach and comes supplied with everything you'll need to create lasting memories for everyone!

Family Vaca

The space and location were perfect for a multi-generation family. The owners have provided all the amenities needed for a big family that likes to cook. The back patio and fire pit were the perfect gathering place at the end of the day.

Great family getaway

Our group really enjoyed their time at La Terrazza. This is an older home that has been renovated thoughtfully. The kitchen is not enormous but it is very functional and well-stocked. It was great to have six couples in the house who all had their own bathroom. The best part is the location - a very easy and safe walk to the beach access with mats along the dunes to help get wagons to the beach. We had some issues with appliances being finicky, but the owners were very responsive in helping us get them working. I would definitely recommend this property to any family looking for a Lake Michigan vacation.

Great House for a Family Holiday

Our family of 19 people, ages 5 to 73, enjoyed our stay in Michigan City. The house had everything we needed... lots of plates, flatware and cooking stuff! Plenty of room for us to spend time together and privacy when we needed it. The homeowners were great and responsive. The house was clean and tidy! Will be going there again next year!

Friends to the Dunes

Wonderful visit to the Dunes and Lake Michigan City. The VRBO was perfect for our stay. The owners have put a lot of attention to the details to ensure your stay if a great one. Especially loved the new kitchen and the outside lounge area with the gas fire pit. Just a few short steps to the lake. Will definitely go again and stay.

Family Gathering

This stay BLEW our group away!! We had a larger group with family and friends in town for the weekend and could not have picked a better spot. Great Stay in Michigan City

This house is nice. Craig was very easy to deal with … we had six adult couples that stayed in the house. Each couple had their own room and bathroom … and that still left several empty bedrooms. We hung out at the fire pit on Friday night - the porch area behind the house is a great spot. Also, this place is literally steps from the beach. The house was clean and had plenty of supplies for cooking too. We needed a slow cooker for dinner on Friday night - I texted Craig and within three mins he texted back with the exact location of one in the house. We would come back to the same house for sure - we had a very positive experience.

We are a couple of travelers living in Chicago, who happen to love the beachfront lifestyle. We love to entertain and cook, and we are excited to be able to bring our creativity and ideas to this house, and share it with our guests.

We have been coming to Michigan City for many years. We looked at many of the neighborhoods in the area, and kept coming back to the convenience of this little Sheridan Beach pocket. We have lovely neighbors all around, and feel so fortunate for the opportunity to become part of the community. We love the moment when we arrive, and get out of the car, and hear the waves of Lake Michigan - it is instantly relaxing.

As one of the original Sheridan Beach homes, this house has been through numerous modifications. At one point, it held at least three apartments. There are several "M" initials around the house, which suggests to us that it belonged to one of the original founders of Sheridan Beach, William Manny. We continue to hear stories of the old days of this house and neighborhood, and they are fascinating.

Few properties offer the vibe that this one does, and can accommodate your whole extended family, and STILL be this convenient to walks on the beach. In 2018, we designed and built the 800 square foot patio (“terrazza” in Italian), framed by the 24 locally-sourced, mature arbor vitae trees, creating an inviting and private space that reminds us of our travels in Italy. This terrazza is unique to the area, and allows your group to linger in privacy and comfort around the gas firepit and extended outdoor dining area. There are so many lovely homes in the neighborhood, but what brings some of our guests back year after year is the convenience this home offers a large group, to stroll 100 steps to the sand with your coffee in the morning, or your favorite sunset drink in the evening - it just can't be beat. In early 2020, we renovated all six bathrooms, and in the fall, we completed a full exterior renovation: siding, windows and doors. Finally, in 2021, we rehabbed the kitchen, its first update in over 60 years. In all the updates, we worked hard to preserve the character, but enhance the comfort this house offers our guests.
