As one of the original homes in Sheridan Beach, this stately property has just undergone a complete renovation and upgrade. Unlike any other property in the area, you'll enjoy the perfect blend of a convenient walk to the water's edge, plentiful modern bathrooms and privacy for your extended family, along with a beautiful 800sf private "terrazza" with natural gas firepit and grill. Huge home super close to the beach

It's rare to find a large home that can comfortably accommodate so many different couples and their children, but this one did! Loved the large back patio, two long picnic tables, and fire pit. It was a great place for all to gather and enjoy the weekend!

The space and location were perfect for a multi-generation family. The owners have provided all the amenities needed for a big family that likes to cook. The back patio and fire pit were the perfect gathering place at the end of the day.

Great family getaway

Our group really enjoyed their time at La Terrazza. This is an older home that has been renovated thoughtfully. The kitchen is not enormous but it is very functional and well-stocked. It was great to have six couples in the house who all had their own bathroom. The best part is the location - a very easy and safe walk to the beach access with mats along the dunes to help get wagons to the beach. We had some issues with appliances being finicky, but the owners were very responsive in helping us get them working. I would definitely recommend this property to any family looking for a Lake Michigan vacation.

Great House for a Family Holiday

Our family of 19 people, ages 5 to 73, enjoyed our stay in Michigan City. The house had everything we needed... lots of plates, flatware and cooking stuff! Plenty of room for us to spend time together and privacy when we needed it. The homeowners were great and responsive. The house was clean and tidy! Will be going there again next year!

Friends to the Dunes

Wonderful visit to the Dunes and Lake Michigan City. The VRBO was perfect for our stay. The owners have put a lot of attention to the details to ensure your stay if a great one. Family Gathering

This stay BLEW our group away!! We had a larger group with family and friends in town for the weekend and could not have picked a better spot. Great Stay in Michigan City

This house is nice. Craig was very easy to deal with … we had six adult couples that stayed in the house. Each couple had their own room and bathroom … and that still left several empty bedrooms. We hung out at the fire pit on Friday night - the porch area behind the house is a great spot. Also, this place is literally steps from the beach. The house was clean and had plenty of supplies for cooking too. We needed a slow cooker for dinner on Friday night - I texted Craig and within three mins he texted back with the exact location of one in the house. We would come back to the same house for sure - we had a very positive experience.

Good for families

We were very lucky to find a place like this that has so many bedrooms and bathrooms and also close to the beach. Check in/out instructions were very clear and detailed and we knew exactly where and how to find things. House was very clean and organized. Several rooms and bathrooms have been nicely renovated. There were at least one bedroom and bathroom whose locks don’t work and several doors that should be replaced. A few mattresses were squeaky and uncomfortable. But overall we appreciated the care and thought that went into making the house as comfortable as possible for a large group like ours.

Family vacation

From the time we reserved this home and throughout our visit, Craig was very responsive to all of our questions. Our family of 15 (8 adults/7 children-8yrs and under) was able to relax and enjoy each other with plenty of bedroom and bath space for each individual family. The proximity to the beach and the private back patio are bonuses. The kitchen may be small, but it's very well equipped for a large group and the dining space is ample. Should we ever return with a large group to the area, we would definitely want to stay at La Terrazza again.

So close to the beach!

This property was very welcoming. You can tell the owners spent some time and money bringing this old house up to the modern requirements of today. Multiple bathrooms, all newly updated. A hodge-podge room layout that allows you to get as many bodies in as possible, which worked perfect for our group of 22. A beautiful outdoor setting that allows a big group to eat at the same table with a gas fireplace and sting lighting to help the ambiance. Natural gas Webber grill is also available for use. Beautiful updated kitchen with everything a chef would need to make a delicious meal. We had a great time and would recommend this property for any larger group looking to get away for a weekend.

Comfort in the familiar--even with a face lift!

Call it what you will, but to (all 24) of us, this annual destination for our family is known as, "Our Beach House." We've enjoyed lots of updates over the years, but the well-thought out upgrades that took place during Covid Time are nothing short of amazing. Better still, Craig & Cathy managed to preserve the quirkiness we have all come to love. Important basics: stellar location to beach access (morning coffee & sunrise!), space & bathrooms aplenty, USB ports affixed to headboards & strategically placed elsewhere, sit-down eating space inside & out for all of us, nice water pressure, great kitchen & grill, user-friendly traffic patterns inside the house. Ok--so it's easy to get lost upstairs, but that's why I sleep on the 1st floor. This place is more than a summer break, it's a memory maker, and we have thousands of photos to prove it.

Amazing beach location

This is a wonderful house that is steps away from the beach. We loved being able to walk whenever we wanted without packing up a car. Beach was lovely and not too crowded. House decor was nice and everything was clean. The nearby zoo is a must if you have little kids! The actual town is a bit depressed; no quaint downtown etc. also, be careful on bunk beds as the ladders were not firmly fastened. All in all, great stay!

Family Reunion

We had a family reunion ages 12- 88 years old and found something for everyone at this house. It was roomy, clean, well appointed, and the owner was so easy to work with. We enjoyed having morning coffee and evening meals on the patio, the short walk to the beach and many other fun things to do in the area. We'll definitely be returning to this house.

Wonderful Accommodations in Perfect Location

This was the perfect home for our extended family reunion. Our group consisted of five households totaling nine adults and six children (kids all years old and younger). We had plenty of space to spread out in the good mix of bedrooms and beds with room to spare. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and appliances that one would expect to see in their own home. The kitchen and bathrooms were recently updated and were in great shape. There was plenty of space to spread out for dinners and relaxing -- in the house, on the porches, and in the courtyard. The courtyard is a great place to eat, grill, hang out, and unload gear from the beach. The house is very near the beach -- a quick walk across a quiet street to a beach access. Walking with small children was no problem. Craig was a wonderful host and checked in to make sure all was well with our stay. I would highly recommend this property and would definitely consider staying here again!

We are a couple of travelers living in Chicago, who happen to love the beachfront lifestyle. We love to entertain and cook, and we are excited to be able to bring our creativity and ideas to this house, and share it with our guests.

We have been coming to Michigan City for many years. We looked at many of the neighborhoods in the area, and kept coming back to the convenience of this little Sheridan Beach pocket. We have lovely neighbors all around, and feel so fortunate for the opportunity to become part of the community. We love the moment when we arrive, and get out of the car, and hear the waves of Lake Michigan - it is instantly relaxing.

As one of the original Sheridan Beach homes, this house has been through numerous modifications. At one point, it held at least three apartments. There are several "M" initials around the house, which suggests to us that it belonged to one of the original founders of Sheridan Beach, William Manny. We continue to hear stories of the old days of this house and neighborhood, and they are fascinating.

Few properties offer the vibe that this one does, and can accommodate your whole extended family, and STILL be this convenient to walks on the beach. In 2018, we designed and built the 800 square foot patio (“terrazza” in Italian), framed by the 24 locally-sourced, mature arbor vitae trees, creating an inviting and private space that reminds us of our travels in Italy. This terrazza is unique to the area, and allows your group to linger in privacy and comfort around the gas firepit and extended outdoor dining area. There are so many lovely homes in the neighborhood, but what brings some of our guests back year after year is the convenience this home offers a large group, to stroll 100 steps to the sand with your coffee in the morning, or your favorite sunset drink in the evening - it just can't be beat. In early 2020, we renovated all six bathrooms, and in the fall, we completed a full exterior renovation: siding, windows and doors. Finally, in 2021, we rehabbed the kitchen, its first update in over 60 years. In all the updates, we worked hard to preserve the character, but enhance the comfort this house offers our guests.
