Cottage is located @ 15 minutes from Williamstown's ARK Encounter and sits directly on Beautiful Bullock Pen Lake, a 135 acre "Idle Only" lake, There are no loud motorboats allowed so your Solitude will never be disrupted unlike other lakes in the area. So If you Need some Soul Therapy, Secluded Relaxation, this is the place. Bullock Pen Lake is one of NKY's Premier Fishing, Kayaking & Paddle Boarding Lakes. Located in Beautiful Rolling Hill Farm Country, 15 minutes to Ark Encounter (16.9 miles), and in the heart of Verona's bustling Wine Country with Verona Vineyards (4.7 miles), Schoolyard Winery (2.5 miles), Brianza Garden Winery (5.6 miles) , Grape Vines Wine Bar (4.4) miles nearby. Plus the Creation Museum (33 miles), Big Bone Lick Historic Site, Museum and State Park (12 miles), Historic Rabbit Hash, KY ( 21 miles) Downtown Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Riverwalk (30 miles), as well as many wedding venues. We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the lake house! Everything we needed was provided and was very clean! Bonus was Roxy the dog who came to visit every day. They kayaking provided was a great feature!

We loved the porch, view and kayaks! You definitely want to put in the directions on how to get there! I assumed it would be easy, but their information is VERY helpful!Nice place to stay not too far from Rabbit Hash, Creation Museum and Ark!

We adored staying at this little slice of heaven on earth!! The house is small but with the porch and the lake who wants to be inside anyway! Perfectly situated between The Ark and The Creation Museum as well!

Once you get past the narrow dirt road, you have reached the most peaceful lakehouse. Quiet, calm and relaxation are waiting for you.If you are lucky, Maxy, the neighborhood dog will pay you a visit.The porch/deck has rockers to sit back with your morning beverage, or relax after a day of adventures. Sitting and watching nature on the lake was fantastic. Kyaks and firepit make for a relaxing day.Kitchen is well stocked, living room has comfy couch blankets, games, information for all the area points of interest. ACs and fans keep you cool.. Very clean bathroom. Chris is a great host, he responded quickly when we communicated with him. Was fast to fix an issue to help our stay be the best it could be. If we return to this area I will be booking with Chirs again.

Nice little place. Out of the way. Quiet and private. Gorgeous view of the lake. The house was exceptionally clean. We highly recommend this sweet little place if you are looking for something different and peaceful.

Wasn't great for us. The pictures are very old. The deck and the lake shore do not look like the pictures. Deck looks pretty fresh in the pictures however it's pretty rough to where we were afraid to walk barefoot. Paint was non existent where it rained and the boards pretty rough. The shore was pretty overgrown. We did not get the nice rock to water edge like in the pictures. One tree in the pictures was fairly small, upon seeing it in person it was a full blown giant tree. How many years ago was that pic taken? We brought our own kayaks and didn't even try to launch them because it didn't seem possible there. Grass had not been mowed for a while. At least a couple weeks. Now the inside.... needs some TLC. Upon walking in, it stunk of a musky smell. Don't know what it was but we bought some candles and opened the windows and that helped. The walls have many cracks, small holes, and marks. Big hole in the carpet right in the living room. Shower door was off so you can't close it all the way and it leaked by the toilet. There's a track for blinds on the sliding glass but guess what, no blinds there. Last straw for us was the grill. We planned on grilling and was forced to go out for dinner because the grill grate was so rusted that it was unusable. After that we left a full day early. The best part is a day after we got home I messaged the owner and brought up these issues. Zero response, zero apologies, couldn't even lie to me and say "I'll get on this immediately." Nothing.

Thank You for you feedback Joseph, while I'm disappointed to read this, I do want to provide some context for future guest. First, I apologize that certain aspects of the property did not meet your expectations. I take the condition and upkeep very seriously, and the maintenance concerns mentioned in this review will be addressed accordingly. Our listing has received many 5 star reviews, and I remain committed to providing the experience reflected in those reviews. I would also like to clarify the statement that your message received "zero response." At the time I was in an area without cell service and did not receive it in a timely manner. The lack of immediate response was not an attempt to ignore your concerns. After your stay, I also personally went out of my way to make sure belongings that were left were returned to you. I mention this only because it is important for future guest to understand I DO make every reasonable effort to take care of my guest, including after the stay. Some of the concerns raised here are fair maintenance items that deserve attention, and they will be dealt with, but I do not believe this review accurately reflects the overall condition or the experience the majority of guest have had. I appreciate the feedback and will use the constructive portions of it to make improvements for future guest. Thank you and take care!

This was a lovely little (2 bedroom) cottage…perfect for fishing and relaxing! Love the rocking chairs on the deck overlooking the lake. We didn’t have time to fish or kayak as we were there to see the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. The VRBO was very comfy…great sofas inside. Had a visit daily from Roxy the dog. Sweet. Will return.

Perfect little weekend getaway. House is in a beautiful little spot. Plenty to do in the area and close. Great view and kayaks were fun should have brought some fishing poles but I will next time

Great place!

It may seem like you aren't at the right place, or that youre driving thru someone's yard, but once we got to the house, we had the best time. The directions were perfect, and the house was clean, and had everything we needed to have a great trip!

I enjoy being a host because I am also a fellow traveler, avid outdoorsman, kayaker, and long distance backpacker who Loves small sleepy off the beaten path places.
