Three Birds Cottage-Level Skaneateles Lake

This property is hosted by Skaneateles Cottages PM LLC which requires a signed lease with all bookings. Reach out if you are in need of additional property options if your dates are unavailable. We may be able to assist.



Three Birds Cottage is a level waterfront property with a 10-12 steps to the main dock and is ideally located four miles from the Village of Skaneateles on the east side of the lake. The sunsets are spectacular. It is ideal for 4 adults and 3-4 children. The bed configurations consist of two queen beds, a set of bunks, and two trundles (one is in a queen room and the other in the bunk room). The property has 3bd/1bd, a deck, dock, patio, gas fireplace, central air, grill and kayaks. We provide all linens and beach towels as well. Let us host your visit to the Finger Lakes at one of the best village/lake offerings in the region.



We require a lease to be signed, rules followed and quality guests that are good neighbors, respectful, and mindful people.

Beautiful 2 night stay in the off-season, early November. Came for peace and quiet, relaxation and good food. The house and little village delivered in all. The gas fireplace added a great vibe and warmth.

Great spot on the lake! Enjoyed our fall outing! Brian is a great host answering all our questions quickly.The house is well equipped with anything you need. The outdoor space is also great with plenty of seating in different spots around the yard.Would highly recommend a stay here.

Great trip

The property is perfect for families with toddlers/young kids and I’m sure would be fine for teens too. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and the space felt just right but I would not have more than that. Everything was clean, nice deck and yard space for games. The lake is so beautiful and this place had great options to enjoy it!

Thanksgiving Stay

Perfect little cottage right on the lake close to family for Thanksgiving. Would love to go back in the warmer weather to appreciate the lakefront!!! Brian was excellent on communicating .. any questions we had .. and check in process was seamless.

Fabulous lake house

We loved our weekend on Skaneateles Lake at the 3 Birds Cottage. The location was perfect for easy trips into town and the property itself was just lovely overlooking the lake. We made use of the wood fire pit and there are ample chairs to use around the fire. We also enjoyed the indoor fireplace which kept the cottage cozy.

Girls weekend away!!

This lakefront cottage was wonderful. Very clean and very much matched the pictures we had seen. Brian was really great. Communication couldn’t have been better. Our weather was amazing till Saturday but we were heading home so no worries there. Thank you and will stay again if the timing works out!

Wonderful place to stay!

This property is perfect for a family getaway. It’s in a great location with a nice view of the lake and lake access and has everything there to make you feel at home. And Brian couldn’t have been more attentive and accommodating- we had a wonderful time and will be back!

Relaxing weekend

This was a great place to spend a relaxing fall weekend with our daughter on her fall break from college. Very peaceful and a great location. Would love to visit when it is warmer to take full advantage of the lake!

What a Gem!

What a wonderful stay for a week! Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking and grilling. Brian, the manager was very easy to communicate with. The property is very clean and great up keep. Bonfires every night overlooking the sunset. Great dock for fishing, tying up a boat, kayaks and the Waterfront furniture was excellent, cushions in storage bins for your use. Lot of yard toys and lifejackets for everyone. Will definitely stay again. Already looking forward to next Summer! 5 Stars all the way!

Perfect relaxing getaway

The Three Birds Cottage was amazing. From all of the amenities the owner provided to the dock and lake, it truly was perfect! Brian checked in every once in a while just to make sure everything was ok which was much appreciated. His communication was great before, during, and after. The provided bed linens and beach towels were such a great touch! The home was cozy, clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We loved the large deck attached to the dock. There was ample seating and 3 patio umbrellas which we used daily! The sunsets were spectacular and the perfect weather we had was just the icing on the cake. I have a good feeling this won’t be our last visit!

Great property, too many rules

This is a beautiful lakefront property with spectacular views. We get that the owner is concerned that his property be cared for by guests, but the list of chores is way too long and particular(clean all counters in kitchen and bathroom with Windex Multisurface Cleaner and Swiffer all the floors!?). Being texted the night before with a reminder while you are trying to enjoy the vacation space you paid for is irritating. Meanwhile, the host specifically does not provide any shampoo or other toiletries. The balance between consideration for guests and host is off, in my opinion. But it is a very nice place!

Perfect stay

Very welcoming and accommodating host! Cozy cabin with beautiful lake property and private access to the lake. Location is also less than 10 min drive from the picturesque town of Skaneateles. Would definitely stay here again.

Lakeside Cottage Retreat

We’ll appointed property right on one of the cleanest lakes in the country. Our stay was in the fall, so we enjoyed the beautiful color change and the charming nearby town with plenty of restaurants and shops. Summertime would offer lots of activities on the lake. Also while there, took a day trip to Cooperstown, NY to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame. The host was most accommodating and made sure that we were happy with the property. We plan to return again someday for sure. Love Skaneateles!

Perfect cottage, perfect location!

We had a spectacular time at the cottage. It’s right on the lake with million dollar views. Everything was spotless and even nicer than the pictures convey. Close to Skaneateles and other Finger Lake towns.

Just Breathe….

After having a stressful past 2 years, this property was the perfect “escape”. As a prior lakeside property owner, we grew up on the lake. Returning to visit each summer brings back heartfelt, fun memories and this cottage can be added to them. Complete open communication and organized guidelines made our stay simple and listing is exactly as presented. Highly recommend.

Shannon and Brian Routhouska. We are high school sweethearts who grew-up in Skaneateles and Auburn. We currently live in Pittsford NY with our 3 children and have purchased Three Birds Cottage to give our children the lake memories we grew-up with.

We love Three Birds Cottage because it is a simple cottage, easy to maintain on the sunset side of the lake. It is easy access right off of East Lake Rd and can be accessed all season. There is no cliff, unlike many properties on the Finger Lakes, so we have safe and easy access to the water. We have a nice location and can quickly get to the village by car or boat.
