Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, Fort Michaels sits on 1.5 acres of wooded, creek-side property located conveniently between the East Entrance of Yellowstone and historic Cody, WY. This cabin offers immaculate yet rustic indoor accommodations that include a fully equipped kitchen and laundry appliances to make you feel at home. There are indoor and outdoor dining areas and a hybrid propane/charcoal grill so you can enjoy the mountains as you cook a well deserved meal after a long day of exploring. This property is perfect for small groups (max 4) and couples who want a private place to return to in the evenings; however, it's so beautiful that you might consider spending a day by the creek reading a book and listening to the birds.

Relaxing getaway

A lovely cabin for a relaxing getaway! The patios were great, and the house was cozy. A beautiful area, with easy access to fishing, horseback riding, hiking, Cody, and Yellowstone. Would recommend and would love to return!

Beautiful cabin outside of Cody

Nice sized cabin with a great view. We had everything we needed to be comfortable. The drive into Cody was 27 minutes and the view was amazing. Nice place to stay.

Sweet and comforting

The fresh flowers were a nice surprise. The place was very sweet and comfortable. We would definitely stay again. I wish we had time to enjoy the back patio.

The cabin is clean and perfectly decorated to feel right at home. We used the air mattress, and it slept great! Above everything else, the views are stunning!!!

26 miles to East Yellowstone Entrance - Beautiful Drive

Enjoyed in the Cozy Cabin. Great bed with nice accommodations. It met all our needs. Nice quiet location right off highway. 30 minutes to Cody or 30 minutes to East Yellowstone. Would stay again if going this way.

The cabin on Green Creek was really nice, even on the warmest parts of the day. You could open the windows and get a nice breeze. And at night, it was exceptionally nice

We enjoyed our stay at the relaxing cozy cabin. Listening to the creek while sitting out back was relaxing whether starting or ending your day. It was very clean and had the basic essentials you needed. The area has beautiful scenery and nicely placed for where we had planned on going. (Cody, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons).

A quiet and serene reprieve from populated NP setting

Perfect place to rest and rejuvenate for continued travel. Loved being able to look at the beautiful mountains out the front window and sit on the back deck and listen to the creek. Also loved hearing the creek at night from bedroom window. Bed was very comfortable and kitchen and bathrooms were equipped nicely. We had a great experience!

Cozy, peaceful, perfect

Our stay at this property was absolutely lovely! The owners were very communicative with us during the check-in process and are clearly invested in their property. There is great attention to detail inside the cabin that made our stay all the better. The location alone was enough to impress us with quiet countryside surrounding the property and the stream cutting right through the back yard. Easily one of the best places I’ve stayed, I highly recommend.

Peaceful Cabin

My husband and I stayed here for a week. The cabin was the perfect size for us. The cabin was very clean, had a comfortable bed, everything we needed, was easy to find, and check-in was easy. It was nice to be able to grill outside. Communication was excellent. Upon our arrival, the weather was cool, MacKenzie brought over two space heaters before we arrived which worked out great. There also were some warm days which we opened the windows. You always heard the creek in the back flowing. Late one afternoon it rained and afterwards we seen a beautiful rainbow right outside the window!! Very quiet and peaceful area located about 35 minutes from the east entrance of Yellowstone and about 20 minutes for Cody. There was a gas station at the corner of the road which was very convenient. Thank you Scott and MacKenzie for making our stay comfortable.

Our Host let us check in Early after an Awesome Horse Back Ride at Rand Grand Ranch. The Cabin was secluded and Private with Mountain Views on all sides. Very cozy. Thank you so munch- Kevin And Lola Andre

Anniversary trip to the mountains

Property very clean and neat. Loved the small details like fresh flowers and chips and salsa waiting to greet us. I absolutely appreciated having laundry detergent and the opportunity to wash our hiking clothes. Bed was super comfortable, esp after a long day in the car or hiking. ! Location was convenient, as we found we were good distances either from the east gate of Yellowstone, or Cody. We had a GREAT meal at the Best Western in Cody. My only suggestion for the cabin would have been for tv and/or Wi-Fi. While the mountains and landscape invite and beckon you to unplug, it was frustrating to not be able to share our day’s adventures with the family back home due to very limited cell service. The biggest advantage for us and tv would simply be for weather or unwinding at night - but that’s just us. Overall - it would be a place I’d highly recommend and one day hope to return to. (I do wish I’d have had time to nap in the hammock on the back porch. The soft gurgling stream would’ve made for a relaxing afternoon. )

Nice place, but didn't realize there was no AC. Fortunately, there were many fans and the place cooled off pretty fast. The air mattress was reported to be somewhat uncomfortable, but the bedroom bed was comfortable. Bath is pretty small. Plenty of linens and kitchen was furnished well. Great to have a washer and dryer, too.

To me I liked the location for its close proximity to Yellowstone National Park. I enjoyed morning coffee on the porch taking in the Mountain View of the picturesque Absaroka Range.Very Clean and all the convinces of home.

We moved to Cody, WY from Boston, MA in 2013 after a lifetime of desire for a quieter and more adventurous lifestyle. Wanting to live somewhere where every weekend was what we described as our dream vacation, we came upon the listing for Fort Michaels and it was love at first sight. We purchased the home and lived there happily for 3 years, slowly renovating the old hunting camp into the beautiful country cabin it is today. Now we have moved back to Cody proper and want to share our dream home in the mountains with guests traveling to this beautiful northwest corner of Wyoming for the same reasons we did.
