Charming European style house with Yurt and direct National Forest access

Your little mountain house is located on a quiet street and backs the National Forest! It is a very cozy, small one bedroom, one bathroom house with a European style kitchen, queen size bed in the bedroom, washer/dryer combo, Jerome claw-foot bathtub, and a sofabed in the livingroom for additional sleeping space. We have a large Yurt in backyard which is a fantastic place to relax after a full day of activities! There is direct access to miles of hiking trails right out of our back yard gate. Our property is located 10 minutes from downtown Flagstaff, 1.5 hours from the Grand Canyon and 45 minutes from Sedona. The Snowbowl Ski Resort and the Nordic Center for cross country skiing are about 30 minutes away.

Family of four, with two littles

This adorable little house is perfect for a short stay. My kids really enjoyed the back yard, yurt, and the Forrest trails in the back yard. Little details really made the stay convenient, including all necessary supplies in the kitchen to cook meals while we were there, and Bathroom essentials were all available as well.

Quiet Getaway

Great place for a getaway

My wife and I loved our time there. The cozy home was the perfect place to rest after very busy and active days. We are already talking about coming back! Having the national forest out side the back fence was such a great benefit to the house.

Winter Wonderland

My wife and I really enjoyed our time in this cozy home in the woods. We love the location how close it was to Flagstaff and Sedona. Also the hiking trails right outside the home are a plus. The hosts are first class and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Definitely coming back!!

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic weekend staying in this tiny, beautiful cozy home! I’ve lived in AZ since April & it was my first time coming to Flagstaff, it felt like I was back home in WA. Definitely want to come back!!

Charming Cottage

My husband and I had the best week staying in this quaint and charming home. The yurt and hammocks were a relaxing place to decompress. The walking trails out the back gate are well maintained. The neighborhood was quiet with easy access to the freeway to get into downtown flagstaff. The shower was challenging but we would happily stay here again!

Nestled in nature

We had a perfect experience at this property! The hosts were kind and communicative from booking to departure. We so enjoyed the property that our time was spent hiking the trails which back up to it, doing yoga and reading in the yurt and swinging in the hammock. Also, we loved the kitchen for cooking and that there were so many hummingbirds to enjoy. We would love to stay again!

Great cottage close to Flagstaff!

Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Great location to visit Flagstaff. We really loved the property and the forest as a backyard! We did not do any cooking at the property, so I don't have any comments about the cooking equipment on site. Although some would love not having a t.v. on their get away, I did miss not having one onsite. Overall great place to stay and we will consider staying in the future!

Lovely getaway

Had a wonderful time at the cottage, cozy and perfect for my husband and I. Explored the hiking trails behind the house and saw a herd of Elk while hiking. Short drive into downtown Flagstaff, perfect for all our sightseeing adventures. Yurt was very cute and serene. Cottage had everything we needed for our 5 day getaway. House is located in little mountain town, very friendly people, dollar general close by for some necessities. Very quiet and peaceful area, nice sitting area outside. Bed was super comfy. Didn't encounter any problems at all, would definitely return.

My wife and I loved this place.

The location was great, the house was really comfortable and had everything we needed to relax…and the Yurt! Who doesn’t love a Yurt? Would definitely stay here again, it’s a real hidden gem, and the hosts were amazing with communication. 10 of 10, and we’ve stayed in many VRBO homes across the country. Thanks again!

Quaint & cute!

Renting is so stressful when you haven’t been to the area before, but the house was exactly as advertised. The neighborhood safe and quiet. Hosts left a cute basket of goodies! It was very clean. We have shared and recommended to friends! They really thought of everything. This was our best rental yet!

Short Distance from Wedding Venue

My wife and I were in Arizona for a wedding at Aldea Wedding in the Woods. This property is ideally situated just a short, 3-minute drive from the venue. The house was ideally sized for the two of us. The yurt in the yard is novel, but we didn't really use it. We found everything was as advertised. Communication with the owner, Marty, was easy and friendly.

Woodsy suburb 20m from Flagstaff

Apartment is spacious, and in a central location to flagstaff (20min), the Grand Canyon (1.5hr) and Sedona (45m). Hard to tell from the photos, but the house actually sits right between two houses. It’s in a small, but densely populated woodsy neighborhood. There’s no yard, though the back borders on woods and walking trails. The only thing we struggled with was the shower. There’s no controlling the showerhead, so be warned!

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. It was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. We appreciated the basket of goodies that were there upon our arrival and communication with the owner was great. A few things to mention are that there is no TV and the beautiful claw foot bathtub is great for baths but showers proved challenging!

Definitely recommend this home

This home is very pretty home. Has everything you could ask for (except a TV). Lol The owners responded immediately back after I sent a text/email. For the price WOOOOW JUST WOOOOW. It is close to things without being too close. It was cold and very windy while we were there so we didn't get to spend time in the yurt. But, the yurt is very nice and looks very cozy. Muuuuch better than a hotel.

Charming!

This is an absolutely adorable cottage! Inviting and well appointed with little extras to make you feel at home. Loved the welcome basket with tea, snacks and a couple of local brews. We had a indoor picnic in the yurt (too cute!) and loved relaxing in the backyard overlooking the National Forest. It was an excellent location to get us to all of our adventures. Highly recommend!

Berghutte Cottage is the best!

We love this sweet cottage! These owners got it ALL right. Everything was as said and pictures too, and more. The Yurt was amazing, especially with a little fireplace that kept us warm while we drank wine. I loved bringing my 2 girls and since they are tween/teen, we brought an air mattress too. It worked perfectly! We visited the Grand Canyon and hiked the trails behind the cottage. Thanks for making our trip the best! But next time, we are definitely making the next trip a romantic one and staying in this cottage. Thank you Marty!

Our 5th stay.

We really enjoy this lovely little home. The house is very clean and the location is perfect for our family. There are beautiful trails right outside the back gate!
