KipDee Cottage has been selected as one of Door County's premier showcase homes for the 59th annual House and Garden walk! Situated amidst the beauty of Door County, Wisconsin, this cozy retreat is steps away from the Bay. If you are looking for the quintessential DoorCounty experience---KipDee Cottage is it!
Located on the north end of Sister Bay your family will fall in love with all that is Door County in our vacation retreat. A truly beautiful home surrounded by gorgeous perennial gardens and loaded with all the amenities. An amazing spot for families. ***Maximum group we rent to is 10. (Additional guests charged $200 per person) This historic cottage is the perfect family destination. (Not a spot for bachelor or bachelorette parties…)You are within walking distance of eateries, coffee shops, ice cream factory and beach! Truly a place for all seasons, KipDee Cottage provides all the comfort and amenities families seek in a vacation home. Peninsula State Park hiking and biking and Lake Michigan fishing, Door County beaches, golf courses, amazing cross-country skiing, unparalleled shopping, kayaking, wineries, cherry orchards, and sightseeing are just a few options close by. Book your summer/fall week early to ensure availability!

Great spot / lovely home

We really enjoyed our stay. Close to town, loved the property / house and enjoyed all the amenities (bikes, kayaks, etc). Will definitely stay again. Nice get away for the family

A place for memories!

We stayed here for a second time. It is a very pleasant home-away-from home place to stay. We were able to enjoy many activities in Door County, including ice cream, the beach and Wild Tomato pizza in Sister Bay.

Great for families!

Lovely home very close to downtown sister bay. We had a lot of young children with us and it was a perfect spot for them. They especially loved playing in the loft and in the beautiful yard.

Family trip 2021

The location was great - quick bike ride to the beach, eating & shopping. The property was laid out well and felt secluded. We loved being able to walk down the street to get ice cream and watch the sun set.

Family Weekend

The house was absolutely perfect for our family get together. The bonus loft space was perfect for my teenage nephews and nieces to all stay in together. We are looking forward to our next visit to Door County and staying in this beautiful home.

Sister Bay

Great spot for a family vacation. The loft above the garage is great if extra room is needed. We enjoyed being close to Door County Ice Cream Factory and were able to take advantage of the shuttle from the ice cream shop to downtown Sister Bay.

Amazing stay!

This is a beautiful property with an amazing location in Sister Bay. 3 minute drive to the downtown area. We loved the decor, sitting on the porch and in the sunroom with morning coffee, and getting ice cream down the street. The owners were very easy to communicate with and the check in process was very easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet Sister Bay Location

Quiet birthday weekend

Celebrated a quiet birthday weekend with the family. Great location, close to everything we wanted to do in the area. Owner was responsive with information in advance and for any questions. Would stay again and look forward to making a family tradition with such great memories!

Great Girls Weekend Retreat

Great spot for us to celebrate turning 50! Comfortable and well equipped house. Gracious and informative hosts. Door County was just beginning its summer season, but there was plenty to do and see. I hope we get the chance to visit again and we will definitely seek to stay at KipDee Cottage.

Fantastic house and location!

This is such a charming, cozy cottage. We were very pleased with all of the amenities, charm, and location. It was lovely to see the photos on the wall and read stories about the former owners. Can't wait to try this home again in the summer. Location was perfect and really gave you the Door County vibe. Don't forget to check out the holiday store across the street!

Quiet little getaway

We LOVED the location of this property and all the amenities. It's very doable to have two families stay on property with the loft above the garage. The house is styled beautifully, very warm and cozy which just adds to the appeal. We will definitely be repeat customers! Thank you Jon and Lucy!

Can't wait to come back

This place was amazing! It had everything we were looking for. Location was perfect close to everything but still far enough way to have peace and quiet. The owners were available for any questions we had and the binder of info was super helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you to the Murphy's for opening up your home to my family and my sisters family.

5 night Family Getaway

This place was perfect for our group of 7! 2 adults and kids ranging from 15-20. The loft above the garage was perfect for all of the kids to stay. Both the house and the loft were clean, fully stocked and decorated so cute! We used the bikes, kayaks and firepit that were provided. There’s a lovely lookout point and ice cream shop just steps from the house and downtown Sister Bay is just a few minute drive. We loved just about everything from our stay and will likely be booking here again!

KipDee Cottage-Sister Bay, WI

Fantastic property super close to beach, downtown Sister Bay and other communities on the Bay. We didn't utilize the loft above the garage but it would be fantastic for a second family or younger members of a group to have privacy. Hosts were prompt, courteous, informative and allowed us to check in earlier in the day. Bonus for our stay. We would definitely like to stay again.

We had a great experience at KipDee cottage! The house has everything you need, including a full kitchen and a ping pong table.We brought a group of 6 adults and had enough room for everyone. You can definitely fit more people in the house, but it might be tough to gather around a table all together. There are lots of seating and lounging options all around the house for group of 2-4.We would definitely stay again! Thanks for a great experience.

Girls wine weekend trip

Thanks to our wonderful hosts, this annual girls trip was the best one yet! We felt so at home in this lovely cottage. The property is close to town but far enough away to feel private and peaceful. Just a gorgeous place to spend some time relaxing. Fun was definitely had by all…can’t wait to return. Thanks so much, Jon and Lucy!!

My wife Lucy and are retired educators from the Green Bay Area. I have been a teacher and boys varsity basketball coach in Seymour Wisconsin for the past 34 years. Lucy is a school social worker in the Green Bay School system. We both fell in love with Door County in our youth.
Our mantra now is "Life begins at Waters End!" We have been VRBO hosts since 2017. This winter we have added 1000 square feet and totally renovated this 1898 farmhouse. We are excited to share our beautiful 6 bedroom Sister Bay Cottage with your family!
