Our group of four unanimously agreed everything was perfect. This year (2026) was our second stay there so, obviously, it met our expectations. Kathy is a gracious host, immediately and helpfully replying to our inquiry.

This cottage is close to the Hoover Auditorium where you can see various concerts etc. It is close to shopping and the mini golf. It is very clean. It has plenty of kitchen utensils, cookware, and place settings for meals. Pretty decor and inviting porch. We enjoyed staying here again, and plan to stay in the future.

We went for a girls' weekend in late September and this house was perfect for us - everyone had their own bed and even in spite of some rainy weather the covered front porch allowed us to be cozy as we sipped our coffee in our PJs in the morning and our wine in the evenings! The location could not be better - as we were able to walk/stroll to everything that is charming about Lakeside. From the moment we booked, Kathy was so accessible and shared so much wonderful info (i.e. restaurants, activities, etc) to help make our stay lovely. The only thing I would encourage guests to be aware of is that linens were not included, which, while different from my VRBO experiences, I am told is fairly common for rentals in this area. Plus, Kathy made sure to ensure that we were aware in advance so it wasn't an issue. There is also a service in the area you could use if you didn't want to lug your linens with you - so don't let that be a deal-breaker for this place, as it's sweet and charming as can be.

We just loved this house so much! It was the perfect size for our family and everyone slept well in the comfy beds. Having a nice kitchen and bathroom are a big deal for us and that can make or break a trip for us. This house really made the trip SO easy because it was clean (very!) and had thoughtful details. The home was cozy, comfortable, and spacious for us. It felt very special from the first night and I will never forget sitting on the porch taking it all in being at Lakeside!

Staying at a historic lakeside cottage was a pleasure ! No bunk beds so all adults had a bed of choice to sleep in which I loved! Mattresses were super comfortable!! Clean bathrooms - clean kitchen stocked with everything you would need! Air conditioning was a dream for our 95 degree week!! Location was wonderful with a short walk to the water, basketball courts and downtown and we have always love sitting on the front porch listening to the music of the Hoover !! Hope to stay here again !!

Cozy cottage close to everything!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Kathy’s cottage! The front porch was great, and the location made everything very walkable, even for little toddler legs!

This is such a cute little cottage super close to all the action! Just a short walk one block over to the center of Lakeside; shops, restaurants, shuffle board, pier, etc. The beds were all comfy and the house was super clean!!!

Our stay was wonderful! Kathy is a great host and the house accommodates families so well! The location is steps away from all that Lakeside has to offer!!

Fantastic stay with extended family…..literally steps to downtown, Hoover auditorium, shuffleboard, mini golf, park and pier. Had a golf cart but didn’t really need it other than joy rides. Loved the place…..can fit a lot of people despite the smaller square footage. Would stay there again for sure. Fantastic place!

Great spot!

Very quaint cottage in a great location. We could walk to the pool in one direction and to the lake in the other. Room air conditioners worked well as it was very hot! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.

Cozy Cottage

This cottage was extremely clean and fit our family perfectly. We also enjoyed the convenient location across from Hoover which added to the Lakeside experience. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location by Hoover!

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. Very well maintained and perfect location across from Hoover Auditorium and steps away from downtown shopping and the lake. Gracious hospitality and communication from the host.

Great location!

We had a wonderful time at 317 Central! Such a convenient location with little ones to get to the park!! It was very clean and everything was taken care of so we didn’t have to worry about anything during our stay!
