Cabaña Los Tucanes - Paradise for Couples!

Amazing paradise in the middle of the rain forest, more than 64000 square feet to explore, enjoy and relax. You will find the peace that you are looking for with a little creek next to with pristine waters, lots of flowers, birds, frogs and our comfortable cabin. Mainly recommended for couples all ages or families that would like to be just outside town but close enough to explore all Arenal Volcano attractions. We just add a bigger balcony with a comfortable hot tub up to 4 people.

The cabin is fully equipped with bed linen, towels, kitchen area, private bathroom with hot water, safety deposit box, a king sized bed and two single beds in the second floor special for young kids, it is a mezzanine using a ladder to go up.

**We just add a private hot tub where our guests can relax and enjoy the nature sounds of the rainforest**

The property is just for you, there is nobody else so you will have privacy in this secluded and magical property, all house has screens so you do no have to worry about bugs, going outside and anyplace is better get bug spray with you.

The cabin is located 3 miles away from downtown La Fortuna (10 minutes drive), very private location, good neighborhood and accessible road for any type of car; we will recommend have a car for this location, there is a good taxi/Uber service available but is better have your own car to go around.

Hi my name is Sergio Brenes I’m a chef with over 15 years of experience. I fell in love with cooking thanks to my grandma. I started Nativo Chef 2 years ago so you can enjoy local quality food from your Airbnb.

Breakfast includes coffee, orange juice and fresh fruit from $35. Lunch and dinner are both 3 courses with a cocktail included from $80. We have kids, veggie and gluten free options.

We also have a bartender service, cocktail classes and cooking classes. We’re happy to work on special menus for you.

We’d love you to experience and enjoy Costa Rican food and it would be a pleasure to serve you.

The cabin was very clean and we absolutely loved the stream behind the house. It was very private and we seen lots of wildlife while here. Loved the town that was close by and found many places to eat and shop.

We enjoyed staying here it was nice and cozy and well kept. The location was good as well! It's a bit outside of La fortuna but close enough to be convenient.

A very cool spot!

We loved the little cabin in the jungle, especially the screened in porch. The convection stove top was a bit difficult to master, and the mattress could use an upgrade, but it was a great value. Lots of privacy! Also, kudos to Allen and the folks at House of Travel for giving us lots of great advice and showing us around!

Amazing place!

The property came with a beautiful canopy of trees, as well as it's own creek. The screened-in porch was perfect in the evenings to enjoy the atmosphere of the property and all of the animals surrounding it. The cabin was just far enough out of town to feel secluded but close enough to enjoy every amenity of La Fortuna/Arenal area. We loved it!

Lovely property

Love the property. All kinds of birds. There was a running creek and a pond which allowed us to be serenaded by frogs at night. Everything was well kept up. Neighborhood felt safe at night. Found a little café in La Fortuna that specialized in chocolate, Absolutely delicious there.

This place is amazing!!

It was the most relaxing place I’ve ever been I think. The cabin itself stayed very cool. The views were amazing and there was always something to explore and see on the property. I would stay longer if it wasn’t already booked. If we come back to the area, I would be booking again. Perfect for a couple. We didn’t use the loft upstairs but I can imagine that it would be ideal for kids.

Incredible property!

We absolutely loved this property. The grounds are so beautiful, and included stone walking paths, a bamboo grove, flowering shrubs, and a bubbling stream in the back. The best part, though, was the number of birds that would gather on the property. Every day we saw toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, and other exotic birds. The house itself was very clean and not an insect inside (something I worried about in Costa Rica). I highly recommend this rental!

Beautiful

Cute cabin. Felt very secluded but close to town. We had a car. Beautiful property. Small item was the hot plate display doesn’t work well and so had to do a lot of button pushing to figure out how to make it work. We saw two toucans as well! Excellent and would recommend.

Family Adventure

Great place for our family to stay for 6 days on our adventures through Costa Rica. Not to far from La Fortuna and it was a very relaxing place with an amazing yard and nd the cabin had everything we needed. We even saw toucans the first day we were walking around the backyard. The only advice i have is to be careful with little kiddos in the upstairs loft when getting up and down the ladder. We did it with or 5 and 11 year old and they were just fine but it can be a chore for the little ones. All in all we really loved this place. Oh and we were able to use the pool next door at the hotel which was really nice.

Very relaxing & peaceful

The house was exactly as advertised. It had a few maintenance issues that the owner is taking care of. Initially, we had a couple of major problems but the manager & the owner came out and immediately called workers out and corrected the problems. The covered porch was wonderful. Sitting out at night listening to the birds and other animals was great!The property manager was extremely helpful. My cell phone died close to the house but it's not easy to find. A store owner called the manager and he came to our aid and we followed him to the house.My wife left her Kindle at the house when we moved to another town. The manager facilitated it's return through our car rental company. Communication with the manager was fantastic. Thank you!

Beautiful home & property, located just 10 min drive from town

We loved our stay here! 10/10 would recommend if you're looking for a non-hotel option to call home at the end of a day of adventures. It's just the right amount of secluded and off the beaten path, while still feeling safe and incredibly homey. It has everything you need inside, we loved the screened in porch to relax on at the end of the night too. It gets quite toasty inside while you're gone without the AC on but luckily there are two ACs to really pump out the cold air and cool things off. There were only two of us so we did not need the additional beds, but just note the other beds are upstairs in a loft that requires climbing up a wall attached (and very hardy) ladder to get to. Probably not great (safe) for young kids but perfectly suitable for teens+. Just something to keep in mind. We hope to stay here again in the future, should we come back to La Fortuna. Thank you for sharing your home and for wonderful time!

I paid for a property with a pool as advertised, NO POOL, the people I walked in with expected a pool, NO POOL, my dad saw several roaches, very little water flow, you can barely shower. . The stove is a joke, seriously save some money and buy a proper stove, that weird thing doesn't work. I was supposed to check in at 3pm. m., I was not given entry until almost five in the afternoon. The gay couple in charge of communication and logistics has very bad customer service. The property is quite beautiful, surrounded by nature, perfect beds and nice decoration. There is a small stream next to the property and a pond where you can see all kinds of frogs. I'm sure I can get a refund for false advertising. I will try to contact the owner directly and tell him what is going on. I and all vacation property owners will be pleased with a feedback like this.

Bird watchers haven

Upon arrival, we initially received incorrect directions, but the property management promptly dispatched someone to our location. They arrived within 5-10 minutes, and we were able to follow them directly to the home.The property is situated approximately 10 minutes from La Fortuna, down a well-maintained paved rural road. The beautifully landscaped yard, complete with charming paths, backs directly onto a river, with the jungle just beyond. Each afternoon, we thoroughly enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife from the deck and yard. Both evenings, we were captivated by Macaws, Toucans, Parrots, Parakeets, and other exotic birds, using our binoculars to observe them in the treetops. While we heard howler monkeys, we didn't spot them – the sounds of the jungle were a delightful soundtrack to our stay.The deck itself was incredibly spacious. Although the exterior lighting was somewhat limited, it didn't detract from our experience. On our first night, we encountered an issue with the air conditioning above the bed; however, we discovered the next morning that a breaker had simply tripped, and it worked perfectly after that. Plenty of towels were provided, though guests might consider bringing their own shampoo as only body wash is supplied.We initially thought the jetted pool wasn't heating, but realized we needed to run the jets. It actually heated up quite a lot, becoming wonderfully warm. Sitting in it and listening to the jungle sounds was a truly relaxing experience.

Lovely

We very much enjoyed our stay. The outdoor space is amazing; very private and beautiful grounds. The driveway is hard to find and the name on the gate is not the same as the home listing name. My teens loved the loft and the hot tub. Grill was a great amenity. Location was great for all the activities.

Great stay!

Cabin was beautiful and bigger than expected. The property is breathtaking. We saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed walks in the yard. The patio/deck is large and perfect for morning coffee. We found the beds comfortable, and the kitchen well appointed. I didn’t have any issues with the electric stove (as clear directions were sent). We didn’t feel cramped at all one adult (another still wouldn’t feel cramped), and two teen boys.

A Hidden Gem Near La Fortuna

We loved our stay at Cabana Los Tucanes! The yard is absolutely beautiful—lush with tropical plants and frequently visited by stunning birds, including yellow-throated and keel-billed toucans. We spent peaceful mornings and evenings on the patio soaking in the natural surroundings. Just a 10-minute drive from La Fortuna, it's the perfect spot: close enough for easy access, but far enough to feel like a private retreat. A true hidden gem!

Family stay in La Fortuna

Conveniently located. Arriving at this location during the daylight is advised. Lighting inside is awful. I asked if we could get another lamp, but never got one, nor a follow up response. Kitchen is stocked, but pans for cooking need replacing and the stovetop is glitchy. AC worked great after being turned on for a bit. A bit dirty on the storage shelves by the safe. Outside area is great! Sleeping area upstairs is hard to access. NOT for small children or older people. King bed is a plus, but mattress needs a new mattress and the fitted sheet came loose every night. Hotel next door serves breakfast, which is a nice plus. I highly recommend having a car if at this location.

Beautiful stay

Very peaceful, private property with beautiful landscaping. Enjoyed the back porch with the grill, jacuzzi, and outdoor seating to eat and relax. Nice path around house to look at flowers and creek.

I hired a local company to manage my cabin, their name is Home Vacations La Fortuna, they will help you to arrange Check In process and they have a lot of services that might be useful for your trip to La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area.
