Sunny, Main Street, creekside home in the heart of the Victorian Village
Francis Creek Retreat, built in 1881, is one of the earliest homes in the Historic Victorian Village of Ferndale. Besides being comfortable, clean, and well appointed, our sunny, two bedroom home is steps from Main Street. It is a minute's walk to the town's fantastic restaurants, bars, shops, the park, and even bocce courts! Beautiful and wild Centerville Beach is a scenic five mile drive away. We love this house and are confident you will enjoy your stay in Ferndale.
The space
Francis Creek House is a comfortable and cute two bedroom, one bathroom (shower only) home with a large kitchen, living room, and dining room. The bistro table and propane barbecue on the large back deck are great for enjoying a sunny day and the quiet ambiance of Francis Creek, which runs behind the house. This home is one of the oldest in our town, and we love how you can see the original hand-hewn cedar beams in the kitchen.
The house has wifi throughout and cable television in the living room. The beds and carpet are brand new and the interior of the home is all freshly painted. We have on-demand hot water and forced-air heating. There's a laundry room with a washer and dryer for your use. Enjoy coffee from the Keurig in the morning. The kitchen has pots and pans and a grocery store one block away for breakfast at home, or head out to the local cafes down the street for a hearty Ferndale breakfast.
Francis Creek Retreat is just a few doors down from the largest living lighted Christmas tree, and a cozy place to watch the Ferndale Lighted Tractor Parade, which passes by the front door of the house each December!

Very fun classic house walking distance to everything. Cute, quiet and nice hosts. Stayed in March and heat was great at night. Parking on street if staying in the main house. Back unit uses the drive.ThanksWe would stay again

The location was excellent and the house very comfortable. We appreciated having plenty of blankets, linen and towels readily available. We also really appreciated the host’s attention to other comfort details such as having coffee available, brochures and information about the town and activities in the area. Having a laundry room on site was also greatly appreciated. It’s a cozy, nicely decorated home and we really enjoyed our stay there!

This house exceeded our expectations in every way! It was stocked with everything you would need from coffee, tea, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, laundry soap, etc. the owner had lots of info for restaurants and attractions and even a hiking book. The house itself was very super homey and on a quiet street in beautiful Ferndale. It truly made our visit more enjoyable!

Perfect stay
I grew up in Ferndale, and this place is nicely sized and perfectly located to explore the town with a small family. The house was comfortable and had great amenities. We will be staying again.

Wonderful time in a Fun town
We enjoyed our visit to the town of Ferndale. The house felt like home and was in walking distance to everything. I would recommend this house for anyone looking to stay in a fun Victorian town.

Relaxing retreat
We loved this little house. It was perfect for our book trip weekend. Loved the charm and history. We parked and walked all over. Location is great. Hope to come back and stay here again. Definitely recommend

Cute place, very comfortable and thoughtfully set-up, loved it.
The property is very attractive and very thoughtfully set-up with everything necessary to make for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Beds were very comfortable. Communication was easy and pleasant. We would definitely stay here again.

Ferndale weekend
Cozy and charming cottage in Ferndale. Comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchen. Very convenient to Ferndale shops and restaurants. Easy access to other towns in Humboldt County.

Excellent home away from home
We enjoyed our stay in this nicely appointed home! Very clean and comfortable, and our hosts provided everything needed for a great stay! Would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Ferndale. Only slight negative is bath could use more lighting but that would not prevent us from staying here again. Highly recommended!!!

Nice little Cottage
Extremely clean. Lots of coffee. Only one bathroom with a very small shower. Great location. Have stayed there before and will again, I'm sure

Ferndale Francis creek
This charming farmhouse in Ferndale California was perfect for our visit with family living nearby. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Only a couple miles away from the ocean. We were able to barbecue on the back deck and the kitchen is well appointed.

Loved this cozy home!
We had such a wonderful stay here! The house looks small on the outside but is actually quite roomy and very comfortable. It was impeccably clean, with thoughtful details throughout, comfortable beds, a very well appointed kitchen, and even some toys, which our preschooler loved playing with! We also really appreciated the washer and dryer onsite, which came in handy after getting soaked and muddy on rainy forest hikes. All in all, a great place to stay. Thank you Kathleen!

Perfect Ferndale Getaway
We loved our stay here. The house is in a great location, just a block or two away from the center of Ferndale. We were able to walk less than 5 minutes to all the shopping and dining options in town and return to this homey retreat afterward. The owner was extremely responsive when I had a question, too. We also really appreciated how clean everything was. The owner clearly put a lot of care and upkeep into maintaining the property. It was a real pleasure to stay here.

Kathleen is a retired elementary school teacher and Dennis is a third generation dairy farmer. We live on our organic dairy farm in Ferndale, in Northern California. We love our dogs, being involved in our community, and bringing new life to historic homes in our area. We have put a lot of love into making Ferndale's Francis Creek Retreat a beautiful and special place to stay. We hope you love visiting Ferndale and enjoy it as much as we do.
