Beautiful Victorian Home Close to beaches-Close To Downtown/Shops/Restaurants

1896 Victorian home, completely remodeled for today's comfort, but the historic charm remains. For your peace of mind, we take our cleaning seriously. Nice front lawn for the kids to play or to spend relaxing evenings with a glass of wine. Central location within a few blocks walking or biking distance to West Bay beaches, Downtown Traverse City, TART Trail, the dog park, and the Historic State Hospital grounds. Conveniently located near West Side Beverage, known for their vast selection, Slab Town Burgers, and a brew pub opening across the street in the summer of 2022.

The two story house features a great kitchen, stocked with any tools you may need, including a gas grill on the deck. The three bedrooms all have wall-mounted flat screen TVs with comfortable beds (queen, queen, bunk bed with a full below, twin on top plus a pull-out twin trundle). The living room couch is a super comfy sectional. There is a beautiful full bath with a double vanity, rainfall shower, soaking tub, plus a half-bath upstairs. Other amenities include cable, WiFi, full-size washer and dryer, central air conditioning, a full-basement with a work-out area, and private parking. Great for families! Great food, great shopping, and fun entertainment. We do have a three night minimum stay, except in our high-demand month of July which requires a six night minimum stay.

We do welcome one dog with an additional fee of $25 per night. You must check the pet box when booking. We are on-sight owners and if you bring a dog without checking the box, the price doubles. We understand the desire to have all of your family members with you on vacation, but there is additional wear and tear, extra cleaning, and yard maintenance required.

Please know that we have added two additional rental properties right next door that can be found at VRBO 2204221 and 3954989. These beautiful condos are each 1300 square feet with spacious two-bedroom, two-bath open concept floor plans. They both have a large, 12'x12' covered balcony for enjoying a cocktail or two:)

Holiday Time

Perfect Family Property with Great Walkability.

Loved the cozy atmosphere of the home! Big kitchen, big dining table, cozy living room where we hung out during a snow storm. The hosts were great! Close to Slab Town Burgers which has easy and quick good food to go and became a go-to. Lots of walkability down to Front Street to TC and through the pretty neighborhoods. Close to coffee shops, wine, fantastic restaurants and shopping. Appreciated the easy and ample parking for our three SUVs. We loved this cute and restored home and are looking forward in returning!

Awesome little spot

We were very happy with our stay here over a long weekend. Family friendly and my daughter loved all the games, puzzles, and bunk beds provided by the house. Great location, clean, comfortable beds, and had all the amenities we needed. Only wish there was a space in the backyard for kids to play but they enjoyed playing in the leaves out front. We would love to stay here again!

Great stay

The property was perfect for us. I wouldn't have considered the bed in the basement an option because it's a dark, cement basement & treadmill & elliptical didnt work. Otherwise, it was wonderful!!elliptical didn't work.

Family wedding

Our family of 6 were in town for a family wedding. The house was very comfortable and there was plenty of room for all of us. The neighborhood was quiet and we were able to walk to dinner and Front Street. Would definitely rent again if we are ever back in Traverse City!

We had a wonderful time! The house was clean, comfortable and well equipped for our family vacation. Our hosts were kind and responsive. The house’s location was superb, with easy access to town and the lake. We recommend this home absolutely and hope to stay there again, ourselves, sometime.

Great House and Location

We had a great experience at this house in Traverse City. Very clean, nicely updated kitchen and main floor bathroom and plenty of space for the 5 of us. Kids liked the bunk bed upstairs. It is technically walking distance to the beach but still about 1/2 a mile so keep this in mind if you have young kids. But, it was nice because there was very little parking available at the beach itself so we were happy we walked. Lots of good restaurants around the area. While it does share an alley with a liquor store and two small condo buildings, it was always very quiet and the rest of the neighborhood is made of other very nice single family historic homes.

Slabtown Retreat

It's a beautifully restored Victorian house. Loved the way the woodwork was saved. The tile/stone entryways were impressive. They did a wonderful job of modernizing and yet keeping the authentic appearance. There are several inviting outdoor areas to enjoy. The location is perfect for walking or biking. They provided all the amenities needed. Would definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.

Family Vacation - 2024

This was our very first experience staying at a VRBO property and it was wonderful. From the minute we walked into the house, we felt right at home. Our hosts provided us with everything we could possibly want. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, including spices!! The beds were very comfortable. My grandsons especially liked the bunk beds. The bathrooms had recently been remodeled and were lovely. There were plenty of towels and washcloths for eight people. Our hosts provided beach towels, camp chairs, and beach toys for the children - that was a special surprise!! The location was perfect -- just a short walk to downtown Traverse City and the beach. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great rental property in Traverse City.

Charming

There were six women here and we had a fantastic time! Its a few blocks from downtown, and easy to get everywhere. The house was charming, We were a bit concerned with only one full bath, but we worked it out without any issues.

Girls weekend

Had a great stay. Easy access to downtown. Seven women for a girls weekend and even though there is only one shower we made it work. Having a large living room and dining room table made this a great choice for our group. Hosts were terrific.

Excellent Stay

Hosts were fantastic and quick to reply to questions. House was clean and as described. Really nice/beautiful home. Great location close to downtown, and also not far from other areas like Suttons Bay or Old Mission. Living room great for hanging out together as a family in the evenings!

This house was built in 1896. It originally faced West Front Street. However, when Oleson's grocery store wanted to expand their offerings across the street, West Side Beverage (established in 1945) was asked to vacate their building. They moved across the street where this house used to sit. A "modern" block basement was built and the cranes drew the neighborhood kids to watch as they lifted the house, spun it, and placed it in its new location. We purchased the property in 2013, took it down to its studs, lovingly stripped its original woodwork, uncovered pine and maple floors, and restored its charm. The yard was next where perennials were chosen with care and the old chimney bricks were repurposed as a patio. We love sitting outside on summer nights with the kids playing in the yard, waving at the neighbors, and talking about the favorite parts of our day. Location, Location, Location! Great neighborhood for walking the dog to the nearby dog park. Friendly neighborhood atmosphere. West Side Beverage is right out your back door and now serves amazingly delicious pizzas and sandwiches on top of their huge selection of libations.
