Skippers—Fully air conditioned, Private Location, Near Gorgeous Beach--TVNC4190

I’m so glad that Beth and her delightful family had a nice stay at Skipper’s—that is always my goal. I think one of the hardest things for our mainland guests to understand is how long any services take to get done on Kauai. The A/C in the two back bedrooms had been out for two months, but I had been in constant contact with the company the entire time. The company had a hard time getting the parts they needed, and actually two days before Beth’s trip, they were out to fix it, but they needed yet another part. I came out a month later, and they spent all day fixing the units, and STILL, they did not work. So I made the hard decision to replace both units (even though these $20,000 units were less than five years old) with new units of a different brand that will, hopefully, be more durable. The funny thing was that even after they were installed, a month after Beth left, the weather was still cool enough in March and early April that we didn’t even need A/C in the bedrooms for the mid to high 60s temperatures.
