Thank you for your stay Stan. Sorry, about the Air Conditioner system dying during your stay. Unfortunately, it was a big job, that would have required at least couple of days with the HVAC company in and out of your space. We thought purchasing window units was a better option, since we were booked solid until September and to get us through the remainder of the season. We've addressed the additional items you mentioned, and took an inventory of both kitchens in the unit, to make sure everything was accounted for and in it's proper place, and replaced any cooking utensils that were missing. We've only owned the units for 3 seasons, and each winter we make additional upgrades and improvements. This winter, we will be refinishing the wood floors and removing some carpet and linoleum to expose and finish the original floors underneath. We will also be adding some additional cabinetry and counter space in the kitchens. We also hope to extend the rear deck and wrap it around the house, which will give more outdoor living space. We hope you will check on our listing from time to time and consider staying with us again. Thank you again for your stay, and your input.

Hi Stephanie, I just came over to take a look and see what we can do about some of the issues you mentioned. It seems that since we have two adjoining units, guests are bringing dishes and utensils into the front unit from the rear to use the dishwasher, and eat at the larger table, and not returning them to where they belong. Unfortunately, the cleaners don’t have time to reorganize every week. Due to yours and other guests comments, we are planning an interior remodel over the winter which should solve the issue of such as tight spaces to gather, and the organization. We are even looking to see the township will allow an in ground pool like they have next door. It’s going to be nice! Keep in touch via text if you’d like updates!

Guest contacted us upon checking in, letting us know the toaster wasn’t working, and we brought a new toaster immediately and told her to contact us if there were any other issues. The next time we heard from the guest was Sunday evening, the night before check out, saying she wanted her money back, and we would be hearing from her “in a legal capacity.” We were not afforded the opportunity to observe or correct any issues during their stay. The 2 cable TV’s mentioned in our listing were working properly. The house was thoroughly cleaned prior to their stay, and has been cleaned weekly all summer. We always get high marks for cleanliness. The shower curtain was the same length it has been for all guests, with no complaints. The house was built in 1876, there are no closets. They used a storage cabinet where we keep spare pillows and blankets to hang clothes. We provided 10 chairs, for their party of 7, three of the chairs had one strap broken under the cushion. This was the end of our season, which was completely booked with back to back reservations. We do extensive maintenance over the winter prior to each season. Regarding, the box of condoms and a “used” one in the nightstand: based on the minor nature of this guests other complaints, not informing us until the end of her stay, requesting a refund and threatening legal action, we can’t help but wonder if the guest placed those items in the drawer. We can’t know that for sure, as the cleaners do not open every drawer.

The cleaners immediately informed us that the house was left in a filthy condition, with an excessive amount of trash and bottles left inside the apartment, and the sofa was torn. The seasonal renters upstairs informed us that they were a young, partying group, which we were not aware of until after they left. We most definitely did ask Andrew about the sofa before charging him. He checked with his friends and no one in his group claimed responsibility. Prior to charging him, we confirmed again with the cleaners that the sofa was not torn the previous week when they cleaned. We have been using these cleaners for over ten years for all our rentals, and our personal home, they are VERY thorough and we have not had one complaint that I can recall. We have specific instructions to close the umbrellas during a storm, which he and the other tenant did not do. The umbrellas are securely attached to the glass high top tables, that is why they fell over and smashed when we had very strong thunderstorms that evening. As a courtesy, neither tenant was charged for the tables. David stopped responding to Andrew when he became rude, aggressive and his texts bordered on harassment. Andrew was charged $100. As Andrew alluded to, we have rentals in Costa Rica, Lake Wallenpaupack, LBI and Florida, and we have attained Premier Partner status based on our good reviews, our response time and overall customer service. Our record speaks for itself.
