Centrally located to all attractions, this home is a great retreat at the end of a long day. The large deck is perfect for visiting with friends and family. Moose Haven has 6 bedrooms with room for the whole family. Satellite TV and WIFI are available.
The lower level has one bedroom with 2 queen beds, and one bedroom with two twin beds. It also features a full bathroom and living room.
The main level features a kitchen, dining area, living room, and a full bathroom. It also has one bedroom with a king bed and one bedroom with one king and two twin beds.
The upper level has a full bathroom and one bedroom with a king bed, a set of bunk beds and a trundle bed. The other bedroom has a king bed and a single bed.
Lake Pactola is just five miles away, and great ATV trails are just out the front door.
If you’re coming for the Sturgis Rally, there is a three-mile stretch of gravel to get to this property. Parking for an 8-foot trailer is available onsite. All other trailers must be parked at the office area. The fee is $10.00 per trailer per night.

It was perfect & it was the perfect location for all the things we wanted to do. Very quiet & the home was stocked very well. The process of checking in & out was so easy, communication with host was unbelievablely fast. Cell reception was not great but @ Moose Haven Home it was awesome once you hooked up. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. First time in South Dakota. What a beautiful state! Thank you so very much.

We enjoyed our stay here. Nothing fancy, but beds were comfortable. They also had a good supply of trash bags, soaps and TP. Kitchen is small, but well stocked. There are a lot of steps, so if anyone has issues with steps, this is not the place for you. The kitchen and main living room are a full flight up. They also had lots of extra blankets and pillows!!

We loved our stay. Great location in the woods. Quiet and picturesque. Great house. Well stocked kitchen. Bedrooms were comfortable. Large, clean bathrooms with good showers! We would definitely stay again.

I didn't realize there were so many steps. One in our group had a bad knee and had a difficult time managing them. Plus, the factor of hauling luggage and food coolers up all the steps was a real pain. We had issues getting the lights and fans to work properly. There wasn't enough toilet paper so we had to buy some. The listing said there would be two extra rolls per bathroom and only one of them did. The Kuerig coffee maker wouldn't work as it needed to be descaled, so having one for our large group, given the fact that it was slow to brew, was an inconvenience. The deck was in need of maintenance and painting/staining. We won't be staying here again.

Thank you for staying. The pictures clearly show the 3 levels of stairs and thank you for letting me know about the coffee pot Glad there was an extra one there. We don't get to use the coffee pots when we clean so good to know. The toilet paper was under the bathroom sinks and in the drawers of the bathroom We did find that odd they were all unused but probably you just missed them The switch turns on in the bedrooms and then there is a remote for the fans You just needed to call me if you were having problems. We can not fix them or help you if we do not know about issues. The homeowner is aware of the deck but can not get a new one on until later this fall.

Great Family Vacation

The location was interesting to get to, but everything in the Black Hills is interesting to get to. The house was very roomie and our family had a super time visiting the area. It was somewhat centrally located for everything that we wanted to do.

Nice Place

we stayed with Family and friends, Nice house, it works well for large groups, We brought out SXS and ATV's, I was a little concerned about trailers not allowed in the driveway due to size, Trailer were parked at the office a couple miles away, but the host was very nice and in the end it was no big deal. We would defiantly consider staying there again.

It’s a great piece of property for a large family. It has five bedrooms with multiple beds in each room from bunkbeds to single queen and king. The Kitchen was well equipped, which is always very important to me as I’m the one cooking there are games to entertain all ages in the management communicated quickly when I had a question.

Living on a mountain top

Beautiful watching the deer moving among the trees. The weather was cooler in the mountains. Everyone enjoyed the property with plenty of room for all.

Rustic relaxation

My extended family from various states met for a week in the Black Hills and we enjoyed our stay at Moose Haven. The owners were kind and helpful when we needed them. Loved being in the middle of the woods and the cabin accommodated our large family well. Thanks for being the place where so many wonderful family memories were made.

Side by Side Trip

House is in a great location. We had a great time. The house needs some maintenance. Deck needs attention and few things in the house. But overall, it's a great place.

Amazing week

We came with 5 couples for a week of riding trails with our side x sides. The house worked perfectly with every couple having their own bedroom. Plenty of space to be able to sit around the table at the end of the day for some card games and enough space to be able to spread out if you need some space😉. There are plenty of steps but wasn’t an issue for us. Check in and out was super easy. I would definitely recommend this house. We really enjoyed our week here!

Beautiful area

We enjoyed our short stay. Julie was very responsive to any inquiries. This being my first VRBO experience, was not sure what to expect. The need to have dishes washed and placed back into the cupboard is challenging. A dirty plate was found. Suggest that dishes be washed in dishwasher to be sure are cleaned,(left in dishwasher if necessary) rather than hand wash and put away dirty.

We use to do the dishes but after all the dishes used and people had them stacked up all over the kitchen we just ask that you do the dishes you use. Thank you though for the input. Have a great day!

Moose Haven

Overall the stay was very nice. The place is a little more dated than what the pictures show. The remotes didn’t have any batteries. The house was close to trails for riding which was a big plus. Some of the information in the listing did not match what we were told. The listing stated there was room for trailers and that we could have 6 vehicles at the house, however we got to keep one truck and 14ft trailer there and two other vehicles. We had to park the other truck and trailer almost 4 miles away from the cabin. Overall the stay was nice and great memories were made. Julie was great for checking in and out.

The host was great for communicating and check in was very easy. lots of stairs in the home. The cabin was pretty clean. We did end up leaving after the first night due to finding more than one mouse inside the property. The host was gracious enough to give us a refund as we had little children with us for our stay we would have loved to stay the whole trip if it weren't for the mice.

Very unfortunate that you left. We did catch 1 mouse in the 4 days. It is very tough not to sometimes have a mouse being in the woods and guests leaving the doors open. Glad you found something else that met your needs.

Moose Haven

Loved that there were king size beds in 4 rooms! Perfect for 4 couples! That house is dated- stuck in the 80's - but overall it was fine. The beds weren't great but we slept fine. Great location for riding trails!
