We had a wonderful stay at Neal Creek Retreat! The house was comfortable, clean, spacious, and had everything we needed to feel right at home.The location was fantastic for exploring Hood River and the surrounding area. It was a great home base for all of our family adventures! Favorite part of the house was listening to the creek and the window views!

There were catastrophic wildfires surrounding the area during our reservation, with hazardous smoke conditions and major highway closures. Despite circumstances that were completely outside of our control, the owner would not allow us to cancel or even reschedule our stay.I sent multiple articles, screenshots, air-quality reports, road-closure information, and updates regarding the fire risk. At the time, an active wildfire was approximately 8 miles from the property, yet we were still expected to travel there and stay as planned. As a parent, I was not willing to put my family’s health and safety at risk.We ultimately chose not to stay at the property and clearly notified the owner of that decision. Despite this, we continued receiving automated messages asking, “How is your stay?” which only added to the frustration and felt extremely unprofessional given everything we had already communicated.I understand that cancellation policies exist, but these were extraordinary circumstances involving active wildfires, hazardous smoke, and significant travel disruptions. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of flexibility, communication, and concern for our family’s safety.

This was our second stay. Fabulous house in beautiful surroundings! Our host was welcoming and easy to connect with, and along with all necessities, there was a wonderful collection of books to read, games to play, and a wonderfully colorful woods to contemplate from every window.

Great secluded stay!

My son and I were in town for a long weekend for a family reunion in Parkdale. This house was in a great location in between Hood River and Parkdale so it was the perfect place for us. A very cool house with a nice layout great porch and babbling Brook. Everything about the stay was excellent.

Girls trip

We had a wonderful time in this house. It is in a beautiful location and we loved everything about it. The library and puzzles kept us entertained for hours.

Clean, beautiful home

The home was very well located to enjoy Hood River and was immaculate. Would reccommend a few nights to relax and recharge.

Cool place. Great location. Were here for our kids ski race at mt hood. We had a blast and appreciated how nice the place is, the great books and no TV (just a DVD player to watch movies)

Hood River

Cool House about 15 mins from town. Neat property on a quiet street with a creek in the back that you can hear when the windows are open. Nice outdoor dining space as well.

Fantastic setting for a weekend getaway with friends

We loved this place! Great location...close to Hood River & White Salmon for shopping & dining yet also close to some beautiful trails in Mount Hood National Forest. Best of both worlds! The house is modern & comfortable, with everything you need, in a beautiful wooded setting. Loved the feeling of being nestled in the trees as we enjoyed our morning coffee. Will definitely stay again!

Architecturally interesting and beautifully functional… like living in a tree house surrounded by woods while being treated to bookshelves full of a great variety of reads!

Loved every minute

We stayed here for a family wedding- such a great little find!! Love the ease of the layout and the efficiency of the place. The under cabin nook was awesome for morning yoga and coffee. Could use some shelves in the bedrooms but nothing else to say negative about this cool little place!!

Nice weekend getaway

We spent a recent weekend here. It was very relaxing with nice views and the sound of the creek behind the home. The home was clean and had everything we needed. When we ended up with a change of plans (ski day canceled), we were grateful for the books, games, and movies available to keep us entertained.

Fun girls weekend

My co-workers and I celebrated a retirement with a lovely little retreat at this property. It was perfect for 4 of us to just hang out, read books, play games, and eat food together. We were planning on doing some shopping in Hood River but we ended up just wanting to stay in and relax. Such a lovely space. It felt like a treehouse! It had everything we needed for a getaway together.

What a COOL place!

Thank you for allowing us to stay with you! My wife and I with our three kids stayed two nights while skiing Mt Hood. Such a cute place and a great location. We loved the lifelong book collection that the owners were so willing to share with us. My want-to-read list is now a lot longer. Perfectly located between all the things we wanted to see. We are already talking about a summer trip to be back in the area. We will be picking our dates around this place being available. Thanks again!

Beautiful property

We enjoyed our stay in this modern home! Our code didn’t work when we arrived, but thankfully we got help immediately over the phone and a new code was assigned so we appreciated that. The home is a little scuffed up along the walls and the bed frames and the bedroom mattresses are very hard and uncomfortable. But the location and the uniqueness of the home is worth checking it out!

Quiet retreat

If you love nature and want a quiet place to relax, consider this home. A creek runs behind the home, and the home itself is located a bit off the beaten path (about 15 minutes away from Parkdale or Hood River). You can sit under the home on a new deck, and watch deer eat clover in the back yard. You can pet a friendly neighborhood cat that likes to visit. Upstairs, the view is relaxing and the living room is inviting for a quiet evening relaxing.
