Newly updated! You'll love the privacy and cozy feel of this 3 bedroom, 1 bath home tucked away in a private area right in downtown. In just a few short minutes walk to coffee, restaurants, pubs, shops and the waterfront from the convenient location; about 100 yards from Big Winds! The kitchen is designed for entertaining. The deck is HUGE. The bedrooms are comfy. And there is a nice large finished walk out basement with access to the driveway to store your bikes and gear. Please note, no access to the detached garage (owner's storage). No central A/C, there is a window unit in the living room and two of the bedrooms. Lic #: 493 Sorry no AMEX.

Left after the first night

Disappointing property. Location is good, but the house had quite a few issues: windows painted shut, cobwebs in the ceiling in the basement, only a trickle of water pressure in the tiny single bathroom. We left first thing in the morning after arriving quite late the night before even though we had 2 more nights booked there. To her credit, Amy, the property manager, did offer us another place for our remaining two nights but we had already made other arrangements. Alas, Amy's "credit" does not appear to have gone so far as to reimburse any of the 3 night fee.....which is what I was/am hoping for.

Nice stay

House is a bit older with some quirks, but still charming. We had everything we need and our stay was great. The location is fantastic.

Wonderful House!

Rating Details: The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Fall escape to Hood River

We had a great stay here. The house was very clean and location was excellent. It was walking distance to downtown and the river. We would definitely stay here again.

Great stay for family of four!

We stayed for a full week with our 3.5 and 1 year old, and the house was the perfect setup and great location for our crew! Well equipped kitchen, bathroom, and laundry, great AC units, AMAZING deck. Short and easy walk to one of our favorite coffee shops, close to Indian Creek Trail. Would definitely stay again.

Hidden Gem a walk from town

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Great place and location

My family stayed here for a week and had a great time! It is a nice house, very clean. Nice little yard for our dog. Easy walking distance to downtown and the river. Owner purchased 2 new portable air conditioners to be ready for a heat wave. Much appreciated!

Comfy little place

It was a good place for what we would could get last minute. We didn’t know until after our stay that you could request an AC unit if needed. It was pretty hot and that would have been nice to have. The only other thing was one of the beds was covered in (pet?) hair upon arrival. It was only on one side of the bed but not fun to check in and see that. Otherwise it worked great for what we needed for the group! Beautiful spacious deck and convenient to HR event site.

Wonderful, comfortable home

We had a great stay in Hood River at this home! Easily walkable to everything we wanted to do in town and a quick drive out to the Fruit Loop/Wine Country/Mount Hood. The house was very clean, very comfortable, and the porch was amazing. Wish we could have stayed for longer.

Good value for price

Our group of 4 reiterates all of the previously stated pros & critiques. Overall the rental was worth the price. If you’re on a working vacation and require WiFi, then it is absolutely necessary to have your own hotspot. Plan as if there is no WiFi, tether from phone & have a good data plan. That said, all 4 of us were able to carve good workspaces in the house - including the cool basement! The master BR is obviously the best & an open deck door & ceiling fan were all we needed to stay cool. Our friends were hot in the other rooms, even when temps were unseasonably cool (70s). There is an AC unit in the living room but we didn’t run it at night. Also: You’re super close to the best fish vendor in town, Wild Columbia Salmon. Highly recommend for whole fish on the BBQ.

Wonderful Stay

This house was nice and clean. It was in a fantastic location - easy to walk to the town and drive to Mount Hood. The road was quiet and peaceful.

Secluded and close to downtown.

Quiet neighborhood, the house offers privacy and is still an easy walk to downtown.

Awesome & in middle of town

This space was perfect for us and our group. It’s clean, comfortable, and quaint. Loved this location with its short walk to the middle of the downtown shops and pubs. Would stay her again. Thanks Amy!

Great house, great location.

This was my second time staying in this house. It is great. It has the seclusion of a quiet neighborhood but is just a few blocks from downtown hood river. The porch is large and has a view of the river. I would gladly stay here again.

Cozy Home in Hood River

Stayed at Cameron's Chalet for New Years skiing at Mt Hood Meadows. Very convenient location, nice layout for all of us & our dogs. We enjoyed the views from the porch & the walkout basement worked great for all of our skis & snowboards. The home was all ready for our arrival & great service from Amy. We will be back !

Great location and good layout.

The house is located a few short steps from downtown Hood River. Very convenient. The place is well equipped and the deck is great: big and with sun or shade and a good table to sit out at. It's not a huge house, but the three bedroom layout works well and the kitchen is well equipped. You hear the trains at night but that's consistent with all the homes in this area and the "price" one pays for being close to town. During our week, the owner was on the same site in his loft. He's very easy-going and sociable. In summary: not the biggest or the newest rental in Hood River, but very functional and the location is excellent. The deck was a highlight.

The perfect Hood River vacation

Our first trip to Hood River was made extra special with a great stay at this awesome house! It was super clean and was well represented with accurate information on layout, location and photos. The location was ideal and we walked the three blocks to downtown everyday for meals and shopping. We gathered each morning in a spacious kitchen with lots of windows and each night on a huge porch. A grill was supplied but was not used. Two full size beds and one queen offered even more comfort than what I remember reading, and the living room was cozy and perfect. We were in Hood River for a paddle festival on the river and staying at this house made the week one of our favorite vacations. The owner lives next door and has a friendly dog named Finn which was a bonus for those missing pets at home. We will be back! Greg, Oshkosh Wisconsin

Great views, okay rental

We are regular Hood River visitors who normally stay at a lodging closer to the river. We decided, since we were going to Hood River with more family and the two dogs, we would get a house rental. We had plenty of space. Loved the house as it was super cute. Had no complaints upon initial arrival. It was warm and cozy and great for four adults step kids. However, upon going to bed the first night, we realized the front room on the north side of the house gets little to none of the heat from the central heatin system. It is freezing. But if you turn up the heat the rest of the house, especially the bathroom is waaaaay too hot. That was our biggest blunder, trying to heat that room without over heating the rest of the house. No hair dryer, which we thought there would be. But that doesn't makes break anything for us- we should've brought our own anyways. And a few ants in the kitchen. Not swarms but enough to be an annoyance- they attacked my daughter's infant Tylenol syringe that had been rinsed out and put on the counter overnight. Owners were great and responsive to all of our inquiries and questions. One of the only rental houses that allowed for a two night stay instead of a mandatory 3 night stay. The house was in a good place just east of downtown. No big complaints. Would definitely consider renting again with the cheap price now knowing what we know if ever in a large group again. But if just us, we may keep it easier and even cheaper going to our normal lodging spot. Glad we tried something new though.
