Rose’s Cottage was perfect for our family group of eight. The location, views, and environs were what we could hope for. Four of us had been to Acadia Natl Park before. Four had not been to Maine. Southwest Harbor is an easy and quiet place to stay and it has restaurants, coffee, and, yes, lobsters aplenty.

The house and location are better than advertised. The sunrise is spectacular. The house is comfortable and lovely - the perfect post-hike/post-bike luxury retreat. The kitchen is beautifully appointed - I had everything I needed to bake a Boston Cream Pie. Hope to return!!

Great stay!

Loved our week with the family at Roses cottage! Plenty of room for all! The kitchen was well equipped and the house was very clean!

Rose's Cottage

We loved Rose's Cottage for a week's stay in late August. The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed the dining area, the screened porch and the deck overlooking Southwest Harbor. The bedrooms were large with lovely views.

Great stay

We had a large group of adults. Four couples. Plenty of space and bathrooms. Clean and great location. Wonderful kitchen to cook our meals in and excellent porch areas (both enclosed and outside). Comfortable all week. Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous week visiting MDI

Thank you for providing such a perfect home for our week long vacation with the family. Every detail was thought of. All communication was prompt and effective. The location was perfect for visiting Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor and all area villages and islands! I definitely recommend Rose’s Cottage and will stay here on our next visit!

We could not have been more pleased with the house, location and amenities. The view off of the multiple balconies were spectacular and really enjoyed the quiet side of the island and the vibe of the community from nearby lobster pounds to a great downtown with coffee, ice cream and dining options. The kitchen was well equipped and all new appliances including washer and dryer were perfect. Bedrooms and bathrooms werall large and then house was very comfortable. Location was also perfect with many hikes in Acadia nearby.We will be back and stay here again,

Absolutely Gorgeous

Our family absolutely loved Rose’s Cottage. The home is very beautiful and accommodated our family of 9 wonderfully. You could see the water from the deck and it was very peaceful. A really great home and decorated very nice. Loved working with Debby at MDI Real Estate and Rental Agency. Thank you for your quick responses to a couple of questions, while staying there. Also, for some great suggestions and where to go. We would definitely go back. Southwest Harbor, Maine is beautiful and quaint. Thank you!

More than I Imagined

Rose Cottage is a light, bright, comfortable home with everything for a large family. Everyone had a comfortable room to sleep in. The bathrooms are beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked. We sat out on the screened in porch at night and played games at the large table. In between outings we’d sit on the deck, which had plenty of comfortable seating, and take in the view of the harbor. The house was very clean and decorated so beautifully. We couldn’t have asked for more!

We are a family group of Grandparents - 9 people overall. We gathered together this summer to celebrate the simple fact that we were able to spend a quality week together in God’s Country as well as acknowledge special milestones. Rose’s cottage is a spectacular property located in Southwest Harbor (SWH) Maine. Our hats are off to the family that shares Rose’s Cottage with others for family gatherings to create memories and celebrate milestones. We chose Rose’s Cottage for the location in a more quiet part of MDI yet close to Acadia and all of the park highlights. We also chose it for allof the amenities they offer. The home was well furnished and artistically appointed. A welcome basket included a NP map, bottle of wine, popover mix and wild blueberry jam. The map was invaluable and the popovers were delicious! Thank you for providing a true popover pan. All 9 of us had lovely sleeping quarters. (Our 17 & 20 yr grands who are 6’3 and 6’4 had their own comfortable beds.). We so enjoyed morning coffee in the 3 season room off the kitchen. A beautiful doe and her twin fawns visited each morning. The bullfrogs serenaded constantly day and night. SWH is a short walk away to the downtown area. We enjoyed ice cream cones in the evening. Highly recommend Buds Burritos for dinner. The homemade salsa and chips are equal that of top tier Latino restaurants. We also highly recommend Vacationland Cafe and Coffee roasting.

Absolutely wonderful stay at Rose’s Cottage!

My husband and I were lucky enough to spend a week in Rose’s Cottage and our only regret about the home is that we didn’t book at least one (or a few!) more weeks. The home is extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly well-stocked (complete with every kitchen tool/gadget you could desire, umbrellas, and more!). In addition, Rose’s Cottage was impeccably clean and well-maintained—everything seemed brand new! In other words, 5 stars all around (and if there were more stars, I would give them!). We loved reading or having a glass of wine on the screened in porch, enjoying the view of Southwest Harbor from the deck, and even watching the Fourth of July fireworks from the community’s dock! The location of Rose’s Cottage was stellar. While not right on the water, the home had a lovely water view and was a short walk from Southwest Harbor. Rose’s Cottage is about 25-30 minutes from Bar Harbor, but once we arrived and oriented ourselves, we realized that we were VERY pleased to be on the “quiet side” of Mount Desert Island and in Southwest Harbor, specifically, which offers a number of delicious restaurants (must try Hearth & Harbor, Beal’s, and Little Fern) and charming shops but without the crowds! We absolutely loved Acadia- and went for many of the hikes recommended by the owners in their thoughtful welcome guide/guidebook. Depending on the hike, you were 5-30+ minutes away by car. Further highlighting the thoughtful hosts, we even arrived to a lovely bag with delightful Maine treats inside! Last but not least, Debby was awesome as a property manager! Extremely responsive and kind. I would rent another property with her without hesitation!

Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay-grandparents, son and family and dauighter and family. Everything comfortable, convenient, with great views and as advertised. Really great house and grounds.

Rose’s Cottage

What a beautiful property and location! We had two families stay at the cottage for a week and everybody thought that it was a great find. It is walking distance into Southwest Harbor and Bar Harbor is a short drive. The check in process was very easy. Debby from MDI Real Estate was very helpful and had great suggestions for activities. I would absolutely recommend this property for anybody looking for a house near Acadia National Park.
