Root River Valley Cabin ~ Lanesboro, MN

The log cabin, built in 2012 by the Amish, is located on the Root River Trail. The trail is great for biking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, rollerblading, and walking. The cabin is 2.25 miles from Lanesboro via the trail. To access the trail, you just need to hop on your bike and ride down the road around the farmhouse.

The cabin is located on Hwy 250 3.75 miles by car north of Lanesboro with scenic bluff views. It is fully-furnished including two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a queen bed. There also is a futon and bunk beds.

This is a complete house with everything you need, except food. Enjoy the scenic bluff views while sitting out on the covered porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. There is plenty of room to bring family or friends or just a loved one to enjoy a romantic get away.

We loved this stay. Beautiful house in the woods. Loved sitting out on the porch in the swinging basket chairs. A great location to explore the surrounding area. The home was very clean and well stocked. A great place to reconnect with long time friends.

The property is very quiet in a secluded location but yet only minutes from Lanesboro. I had a couple questions for the owner after we arrived, which were promptly answered. I was with 3 other women so it was nice to each have our own bed and 2 of us in each bathroom worked out really well. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The property was in a beautiful setting and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and we loved the homemade quilts. Kitchen was well equipped. The house is right off the biking walking trail. Lots of opportunities for walking.

Cabin was comfortable and as described. Recycling was left in the kitchen upon check-in and some minor deep cleaning issues (like interior cob webs and fridge crumbs), but it didn’t prevent us from enjoying our stay.

The recycling in the kitchen was cardboard to help start a fire in the fire pit. My granddaughter is cleaning and is young and new to this but I will speak to her about the other issues. Thanks! Renee

Log Cabin was in excellent condition and clean. Went into both Preston and Lanesboro close by to enjoy the quaint shops there. The five of us had a great time the two days we were there!

We owned the land for 20 years and always wanted to build a log cabin on it. The quiet of the country and the beautiful scenic bluff views make a relaxing atmosphere. Having coffee in the swings or love seat on the covered porch or a glass a wine is a great way to start and end the day!
