Quaint home with large yard, pet friendly, bike storage right off the trailhead
Enjoy our newly remodeled historic home in the heart of downtown Lanesboro, with the Root-River Trail head at your doorstep, across the street. Mainstreet is a block over, just a few strides away from all the events, activities, shopping and eateries.
There is bike storage with charging for E-Bikes next to the home. We have a large beautiful front yard, a patio with chairs and table, with a BBQ & firepit to wind down your evenings. The three season porch welcomes you as you walk in the front of the house, with seating to enjoy the views year-round. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare and enjoy meals. The living room is a comfy place to relax, with a wrap-around sectional couch. There are 3 bedrooms with a total of 4 beds upstairs. 1 full bathroom on the main level and 1 full bathroom upstairs with the bedrooms.
This home boasts a pleasant treat for a short or long term stays! Steps are in the front of the home to enter and in the home to get up to the bedrooms.
We are pet friendly with a fee. For security purposes of our guests & home, an exterior security camera is located at the main entrance front door porch and monitors the exterior entrance only. No interior areas are monitored.

This place was so clean and comfortable. The house is basically right in town and walkable to everything. The beds were great and the big couch in the living room was our favorite place to have coffee and talk.

Great location for our girl's bicycling trip. Nice space to chill and relax. Great showers and beds were comfortable after our long days of adventures. Would highly recommend this house to others.

LOVED this house! So nice and clean, super cute, spacious, perfect location. My friend and I go to Lanesboro every year for a girls weekend, and this was the best place we’ve stayed so far! Very nice, responsive host.

The house was very clean and cozy. Work very well for our group and the patio set out front was above and beyond comfortable. Very convenient location to the bike trails and downtown activities

The place was great, easy to get into and good communication with owner. One suggestion would be, possibly put a pad that lights up when you step on, for the step going into the master bed room.

Perfectly located property within walking distance to everything in downtown Lanesboro. Food, shops, trails, tubing, kayaking, etc. Place was perfect for a family of 5 with 3 teens. Nicely updated and well thought out with smart tv’s in all rooms and charging ports everywhere you turn. Great stay and hosts!

Loved this house right in the bike trail and close to the theater, bike shop, tube rentals and all kinds of fun restaurants! Lovely updated house inside with perfect amount of room for our family weekend! We will stay again!

Off street parking not ideal. Confusing directions re: whether we could park behind house. Postal service employees said absolutely no parking for us there. Not easy to find street parking close by. Most spots taken.

Hello and Welcome to Beautiful Lanesboro and The Root River Trail House! I am Austin and I live with my wife Miranda and 3 children in Albert Lea, MN. Both my wife and I have been exploring Lanesboro since we were young. Camping, bicycling, kayaking, and eventually bringing our own family down here. We Love the driftless area and the community here so much and hope you share in all the joy it offers as well!

We chose our home because of it's history, it was built in the 1800's and had a lot of character. We also enjoy it being just a block away from the river, the downtown, and right off the bike trail.

We feel our home is unique, because when we remodeled, we were able to keep the original architecture of the old walls-modernizing it, but also keeping the natural feel with bringing in wood and natural textures into it.
