Cyclin-Up Inn 3 br home overlooking Whalan and the Root River Trail, Pet Welcome

The house sleeps 8 in 3 queen sized beds and one full size futon. It has 2 bathrooms and an awesome view. In the front yard there is a softball park, complete with teeter-totters, slide, swings and fire pit. The house has hardwood floors and is pet friendly. The small town of Whalan is located just 4 miles east of Lanesboro. You can walk, drive, swim, kayak, bike, or canoe between the two towns. The property is located just one block off the Root River State Bicycle Trail and about 3 blocks from the World Famous Pie Shop.
This 100+ year old house has been moved, from its original location across from the pie shop, and is now overlooking Gator Greens Mini Golf. The house has been gutted to the studs and totally redone. Great location for the cycling enthusiasts of all ages. Whalan is located just 4 miles from Lanesboro, and 8 miles from Peterson. It is some of the flattest parts of the trail, offering great views of the bluffs as well as the river.
Absolutely no ATVs on property. Dogs are allowed, however we do ask that you clip your pets nails as the hardwood floors have been resurfaced in March 2022. Dogs are an additional cost per night ask for details.

Property was pretty much as described. Very quiet setting and just up the hill from the bike trail. Plenty of space but do need to be able to handle stairs.

Very clean property located near the bike trail and ice cream shop in charming Whalen. A good size deck overlooking a beautiful wooded setting. A/C worked great. Very comfortable size for six people, as long as they don’t need handicap accessibility.

I would have given 5 stars, but the water pressure in the kitchen and first-floor shower was almost nonexistent; the basement shower was good. Although a washing machine was provided, laundry detergent was not, so we had to drive into Rushford to buy some. Other than those two issues, everything else was up to par, and the location for exploring the Driftless Area by bike was perfect.

The house and setting was perfect for our family. The owners have done an amazing job restoring the house. It is beautiful - very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed being out in nature, just off a park in Whalen. Our daughter is already talking about coming back next year. Thanks for the great weekend get-away!

Quiet setting away from the street noises. Property was as described. The steps leading to the bedrooms both up and downstairs are pretty steep. There is no bathroom on the 2nd floor by the bedrooms both, so needed to traverse steps in the middle of the night. Plenty of room for two couples and conveniently located to the bike trails. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The house was exactly as described. Every accessory needed was there; charcoal grill, bonfire pit for samores, shed to store bikes, everything needed in the kitchen for utensils, spices etc. There is AC, it was hot weather and we were comfortable. The 2 bedrooms upstairs and the one downstairs had a staircase that could be a challenge if you have mobility issues. We 4 are in our seventies and stairs were not a problem at all. I didn't actually see the owner (Tammy) but I knew her from previous rentals with her. Check-in and check-out were easy and smooth, keys were in a lock box as she told us in e-mail. We rode the trail to Lanesboro for a dinner and breakfast, perfect distance. Also rode to Peterson round trip. The house location is perfect for access to the trail and the Whalen pie shop. Would highly recommend this house especially if you plan to bike the trail.

Great location! This place was a great place to reconnect with family. Clean and comfortable. Grilled out and enjoyed dinner on the deck after a day of biking the nearby trails.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this property. Great location, with the park across the yard and privacy. Plenty of room for 6 adults, 2 active toddlers and infant. Very clean, loved the deck for coffee in the morning and deer watching. Neighbors were so friendly and sweet!Our family had a fabulous stay and will use Cyclin-Up again. Thank you so much!!!

I own and operate this house. I am originally from Duluth, and has migrated south. I runs the Gator Greens Mini Golf course and keeps the guests happy.

This house was 'Free to a good home', but we had to move it 4 blocks and completely remodel it. We put it on a walk out basement, and placed a large 10x20 deck overlooking the mini golf course, bike trail and the river. The inside offers 3 bedrooms all with great views. Lots of wild life to experience, deer, squirrels, birds and the like. Private setting.

This house has a great view, wonderful deck and exceptional city park in your front yard, which includes a baseball diamond, fire pit, swings teeter totters, slides and monkey bars that is one of Whalan's best kept secrets. Located near the end of Bench Street, it offers you a private, wooded adventure. Nestled along side the original homestead of John Whalahann. John deeded the property to the city of Whalan and thus created Whalan. The house is currently being remodeled too. The house is located just one block off the Root River State Bicycle trail, allowing for Cycling enthusiasts great access to the trail.
