Located only 10 minutes (by foot!) from downtown Clayton is your private wooded retreat. A charming 2 bedroom home with large front porch with space to relax and recharge. All the amenities and an amazing location make this the perfect spot for a quick getaway or a leisurely vacation.
Living room, dining room and kitchen are an open floor plan with comfortable spaces for relaxing, dining and cooking up a great meal. Large screen TV with netflix, amazon and hulu as well as DVDs galore - plus a record player with plenty of vintage vinyl. Lots of puzzles, books and games are in the dining room and of course fast Wifi.
Kitchen is equipped with new appliances and all the plates, cookware and accessories you could need including Nespresso machine for lattes and espressos. Plenty of pantry space if you plan a long vacation. No dishwasher, but double sink makes dishwashing easy, not to mention the great view of the private back yard from the sink.
Rear bedroom has two comfortable twin beds with memory foam mattresses. Front bedroom has new king bed with memory foam. Both bedrooms have dressers and large closets.
Bathroom has shower tub combo, single vanity and new commode.
Front porch is screened with space for dining or relaxing. Views of front yard filled with azaleas and greenery. Rear yard is accessible from dining room. Lots of space to explore, watch for deer or listen to woodpeckers. Set up your hammock and find the perfect resting place.
Dogs are welcome with prior approval and payment of pet fee.

Paradise

An adorable cottage that is private. Deer visits are so special and it’s in walking distance to the quaint downtown. I couldn’t have been more relaxed in this charming cottage. The owners are great and respect your privacy .

Private and quaint Oasis

I had the pleasure of staying here for a few months while my home was being renovated right down the street. It was perfection!! It’s an adorable cottage that is nestled in the woods with visits from deer that of course bring peace. It was great to open the door and bring the fresh air in from the screened porch. Even the rock driveway running through the trees had the most beautiful soft green moss . It’s was fabulous!! The host is exceptional and very kind.

Nice area, very peaceful

Not much of a yard,mainly leaves and vines. Tv in main room would never work by directions, bedroom tv work good, washer was very noisy.house was very clean and furnished well. The screened front porch was amazing, very relaxing. Thanks for the stay.

Winter Break @ Rabun Retreat

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was everything we needed for our two week stay. Being close to downtown Clayton was great for easy access to Main Street activities. Would stay again!

Awesome getaway

We had a relaxing, time in this beautiful home nestled in the woods, but a short walk to Main Street. Great hiking. Very clean too.

Close to everything but private

Fantastic bungalow in a great location!

We loved the house…the decor, the front porch, the privacy, and the location. Internet was great, and we loved walking to town. We’d go back! Plus Clayton was a fantastic small town with amazing food everywhere we went. Great all around experience!

Retreat in the city

What a great spot! The house is in a somewhat community setting, but set off the road in the woods, so feels very secluded. We were easily within walking distance to mainstreet. A great way to have a quiet place to relax and sleep with access to the city of Clayton, and all the near by parks and national forest areas. The space itself was comfortable for 2 people and 2 smaller pups. I look forward to coming back again!

Perfect for Clayton

My husband and I loved spending our anniversary weekend at the cabin. It was near Clayton but in a pocket of trees so that it feels like you are all by yourself. We want to stay here again :)

April 19-21

This is our 4th stay at this rental and as always, it is just what we need. Close to everything but peaceful and quiet. It also has everything you need to prep for meals, make coffee and sit out under the trees and listen to nature. It is clean and perfect for our weekend stays. Will rent again for our next trip to Clayton.

Great place with a great location!

Stayed in Clayton for the week and this was the perfect private getaway. Everything was clean and king bed was very comfortable. Heather responded to any questions quickly. Was so close to town with lots of great restaurants and shopping. Front porch was so relaxing. Lots to do nearby with a short drive. . Will definitely be back.

I loved this little house. It had everything we needed for a cozy snow day! The decor was cute and modern and the furnishings were comfy. We cooked in the kitchen and had all the tools we needed and the pans were decent and the Cutco knives were a happy surprise.

Location Location

This place is quiet, quaint and close to all that Clayton has to offer. Close to Dillard and Franklin as well. The house is extremely clean and well kept. Master bed was very comfortable. Will definitely stay here the next time we’re in Clayton. Even had 4 deer in back yard one evening. Pretty cool.

Wonderful stay in Clayton

Heather was very easy to communicate with. House is very cute, she thought of all the little extras. A record player, books, magazines, dvd’s were all provided for us to use. Our trip was too short to enjoy all of these. Location feels private but a quick walk to downtown (if you are so inclined). Would definitely stay again if property is available.

Thanksgiving Family Getaway

This home was great for our family of 4. We were very close to Clayton and other areas. We went to visit my mother who lives in Mountain City. My siblings all brought their families to visit as well, so we needed somewhere close, to not have to drive too far to visit, but that was also accommodating for a family with small kids(age 1 and 6). It had everything we needed. If for any reason you need to buy any groceries or need to shop for anything there are options near by. The owner answers any questions you have very fast and is very helpful. Its a nice home away from home. If we ever need a place to stay when visiting Georgia, this is a place I would definitely stay again.

Lovely!

We enjoyed our stay here immensely! The house was just as described but even better in real life! Everything was clean, beautiful, and cozy. We got rained out of a hike and there were plenty of little accomodations to keep us busy - ring toss on the screened in patio, fire pit out back, board and card games, the record player was a real treat! Anything we could have ever needed was provided. The master bed was very comfortable. The house is just far off the road to feel like you're really in the middle of solidarity but also a hop skip away from the Downtown area which I highly recommend visiting. We hope to stay here again one day. Thank you Heather!

Nice Place

Stayed for 3 weeks to get away from heat in Florida. Secluded area yet with neighbors around. Quiet. Friendly neighbors. Met several. We cooked a lot at the house because we eat plant based. Would have liked a little more in way of kitchen utensils but did fine with what was there. There were 3 restaurants in the historic downtown area that had a vegan dish and they were all good - Fortify Pi, Universal Joint, and Hush. Many areas to hike and falls are everywhere it seems. There is a very active indoor pickleball club there. People play everyday of the week and it is free. The group is very welcoming to visitors. We had a very nice time.

Great Location!

We enjoyed our stay, until the day before departure. A man knocked loudly on the front door. It scared us because we were not expecting anyone. He was w/ the management property and wanted to do yard work. We unfortunately agreed, and got to hear a leaf blower for the rest of the afternoon. We would of given a 5 star review if that had not occurred. W/ that said, we want to end on a positive note. The bed was ahhhhhmazing! So comfortable, especially after our long hikes. We enjoyed playing games and listening to the record player. The kitchen was adequate w/ regards to appliances. It was also well stocked. We were able to prepare most of our meals. The cabin is secluded, BUT w/ i walking distance to the town. Again, great location. We also really loved the decor of the cabin. We believe most people will enjoy their stay! We hope this review helps everyone!

Even better than expected

The home had everything you could need. The property manager was very responsive. 11am check-out was nice surprise. Beds very comfortable. Firepit and grill were great. Just a great little town nearby, while still feeling like you're in a very remote area.

Our home in North Georgia is where we go to relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings and slower pace of life. It took us many years to find just the right home in this area. Rabun Retreat is perfect to us for its simple floorplan, private location and close proximity to everything.

We love that when staying at the cottage, it feels like we are a million miles away from it all. But, we can just as easily take a quick 10 minute walk into town for coffee, dinner or cocktails. It is truly the best of both worlds and our favorite place to relax.
