Great Location - Needs a small amount of work

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, thoroughly enjoyed the stay - this is a really good value. Just a few things that need to be repaired. Needs some better patching and painting, and the appliances are a bit frustrating. That said, with a couple of tweaks, this is a great place to stay. BTW, the management company was awesome!

Beautiful house with great ammenities

We loved that we were able to bring our dogs. It is a short walk to the beach, and the kids were able to go back and forth on their own. The heated pool was also a big plus!

Wonderful Experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We brought our two adult children and their families. 4 grandchildren and our DIL and SIL so 10 people in total. The house was a perfect layout for our family. We had enough room to gather as a family and enough room to separate for down time. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the accessories needed in order to prepare meals at home. The pool and the hot tub were, of course, the biggest hit. We spent a lot of time in the pool. The walk to the beach was short. The pathway was intentional and secluded. Overall a wonderful experience.

Great Family House

The house is exactly as advertised and we had a great time there. It is an easy walk to the beach from the adjoining paved beach path. Pool was nice too.

Great Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Eastwind was the perfect home for our extended family during our second stay on Hilton Head Island\. We enjoyed our first visit so much that returning felt like coming back to a place we already loved, and this stay was just as wonderful\. The home accommodated our family comfortably, with plenty of space for everyone to relax and spend time together\. The two separate living rooms were especially ideal because they allowed different groups to watch different television programs without disturbing one another\. We also loved that the kitchen is open to the main living area, making cooking and preparing meals feel inclusive and allowing everyone to remain involved in conversations and family activities\. The two primary suites were another major benefit and worked perfectly for our family’s needs\. The ranch\-style layout was also very convenient for our older family members because there were no stairs to navigate\. The home was comfortable, practical, and thoughtfully suited to a multigenerational vacation\. The pool area was very nice, with enough chairs for everyone to relax comfortably\. We are still trying to figure out the dining room table—it is so large that we did not end up using it—but the rest of the home’s layout worked beautifully for us\. The short, convenient walk to the beach was perfect, and we always enjoy the amenities at Palmetto Dunes\. The location made it easy to enjoy the beach, pool, and everything else the resort has to offer without spending much time in the car\. Our pups also had a great time, which made the stay even better\. The management company was easy to work with, responsive, and helpful throughout our visit\. Overall, Eastwind provided everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable family vacation\. We would definitely consider staying at One Eastwind again and look forward to returning to Hilton Head in the future\.

Palmetto Dunes vacation

We loved this property! The location is perfect- close to the beach and a short bike ride to general store. The pool was a nice size, house has 2 living areas and kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. I definitely recommend this beautiful vacation home. Barb

Great rental property!

This house fit our needs perfectly! The open floor plan was great for our family. We spent a lot of time by the pool which had a lot of seating and the proximity to the beach was closer than we expected. The property management company was great to deal with too. We will be back to PD and would rent this house again.

Great Summer Home!

The house has its own private path to the beach, and the pool was nice if you didn’t feel like going to the beach. Being in Palmetto Dunes is a privilege as well- great location to several restaurants and shopping! This was our second time renting this house- we love it!

East Wind

The house offered plenty of space with bedrooms on opposite ends of the house, and the open living area was a great place for our group to gather. The pool was a great beach alternative for our smaller kids, and it was very easy getting to the beach and back through the short walk between the yards to the beach path. Would certainly return here with our family.

Having only a few entry steps to climb helped our less mobile members happy. This house was great for our needs. Great home for our family

Everything was amazing. Pool was the best and plenty of room for the kids. Couple little suggestions... For a 5 bedroom home there should be much more laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, trash bags and dish soap. I understand buying more paper towels and toilet paper. Thank you for considering the next large family. We had a wonderful vacation. Thank you.

NO SPACE FOR WORKING AT HOME. Two at home worker had to improvise. Facility not ready at check in. Had to sit in the rain for 45 minutes. Went into the house even though the cleaners were not finished. Ice maker does not function properly...had to buy ice the entire time.

Amazing Stay

The house is beautiful and very spacious. Besides the expected linens and bath towels, they also provided us with beach towels and beach chairs. The house has multiple flat screen TVs which the kids loved. The pool is beautiful and was very warm when we were there. The house is super close to the beach which was the biggest selling point for our group. But one of the best things about this house was the property manager. We had a wonderful, seamless experience dealing with them. There was a hurricane when we were there and the manager promptly sent a crew to help clean the pool. They also sent timely reminders about arrival and departures. It was just great to work with them.

Amazing Family Gathering Place

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home was the absolute perfect gathering place for our spread across the country family of thirteen! We had ages spanning from 9 months to 64 years. The layout of the house with its large bedrooms and bathrooms made unpacking and getting comfortable easy. The extra half bath was a plus! The multiple large living spaces allowed plenty of room to do lots of activities when we were inside (game cabinet was great). We spent tons of time in the refreshing pool and hot tub, and loved the beautiful, lush, and easy walk to the uncrowded beach, with its clean sand and lovely tide pools. We also appreciated the laundry, the lovely neighborhood setting, and the proximity to the ocean, as well as the tennis and pickleball courts. We would love to visit again, and would most definitely recommend 1 East Wind!

summer 2018

The house was nice for the 13 of us especially since it rained most of the week. There are 2 areas for hanging out which was nice. The dining room table is large enough to seat 10 easily. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and the beds comfortable.the house is nicely decorated.The pool out back was a plus as we had children of various ages. Perhaps there could be additional seating out there. A few suggestions there is no vent in the kitchen over the stove also a large colander.Parking was tight as we had 4 cars that really didn't fit as you could not park on street.The neighborhood was really nice to bike or just walk around in. I would recommend this property for sure

Thanks so much for your nice review, Cathy! So happy that your family of thirteen was able to enjoy the home! We appreciate your feedback and we purchased a large colander and delivered it to the home based on your suggestion. In regards to the parking, we are looking for a permanent solution to fit more than three vehicles. For now, we’ve reduced the max amount of cars permitted to three because of this. We are working the homeowner and Palmetto Dunes Security to add an additional parking spot this off season. So hopefully by 2019 the driveways will be able to comfortably fit four vehicles.
