Omi's Bed and Breakfast Farm, Vineyard and Pool, Winter Texans welcome always

This was the home of World Class Tri-Athlete Joanita Reed. She lived here for over 50 years, raising her dogs and chickens, and training for her next competition. She started NBJ School of Swimming in 1964, at this location, and passed the business on to her daughter Nancy Rathburn in 2004. Nancy and her husband Greg, have lived on the farm since 1977, Nancy manages NBJ and Greg is the cook at the Bed and Breakfast. Nancy is assisted by her daughter Jessica. We offer many activities throughout the year, many at no additional charge. In April you can bottle your own wine, we need 60 days advance reservation for this activity. There is always work to be done in the vineyard through out the summer, ie canopy management, weed control. We harvest grapes in August which means hand picking and stomping.The time frame for grape harvest changes with the summer weather, so for exact week you need to check ahead. If you are a hunter or have ever wanted to hunt, September through December are your months. We have deer (bow and rifle),, turkey and dove available, all for no additional cost. Nancy and Jessica are available for private swimming/stroke instruction June through August (call for fees}.

We enjoyed our short stay this weekend, close to everything we needed, but private enough to really relax! Our soccer tournament got cancelled, but that just gave us more time in the beautiful pool. We loved the warm welcome, fresh eggs, and comfy beds, and hope to return for a longer stay!

Greg and Nancy were amazing hosts! They were available if needed but respected our privacy. The pool was perfect after a day of shopping the outlets. They provided fresh eggs which was a nice bonus. We will be be back!

The pool was beautiful & well maintained. Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was well kept, shower had great water pressure & temperature. The chickens were great our granddaughter really enjoyed them.However the shining stars were the hosts Nancy & Greg. They were warm & friendly and showed interest in our family. We will definitely be staying again!

Our second stay at this awesome farmhouse. The chickens, the flowers, the pool, the outside lovable kitty Queen Bee, the friendly hosts—it’s a perfect dog-friendly paradise—very private yet close to shopping and all the Texas fun!

Beautiful place

Our family of 4 stayed for a long weekend. It was a great time, we all enjoyed the pool and chickens. The house is a cute, older home but well maintained. We would definitely stay again.

It was awesome! The owners went out of their way to insure everything was perfect! The privacy is beyond compare! We had a wonderful visit and will definitely be back! I would give it more than 5 stars if possible. Wonderful stay!

Always an amazing place!!

It is a pleasure to stay at a home where you have the comforts of home. It is secluded but within minutes of grocery store, restaurant and several other needs. Greg and Nancy are amazing hosts and have made their home a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your time there.

Quiet Girls Weekend

Omi's place was perfect. We were looking for a quiet weekend get away for 3 friends. Close enough to Gruene and San Marcos Outlets for shopping and nice, relaxing pool time as well. Hosts were helpful, friendly, accommodating and great with communication. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Getaway

Nothing but great things to say about our stay. Hosts were attentive but not overbearing. Beautiful property, home, pool and close enough to SA and NB to be convenient but far enough out to have true peace and privacy. We will return and hopefully stay longer.

You will enjoy reading about her international accomplishments. Both Nancy and I and our two children attended and graduated from Texas State University.

You will like it for it's Privacy. How ever, we are 5 minutes from Rolling Oaks Mall , most fast food restaurants, HEB, WalMart, not to mention the cities of San Antonio and New Braunfels and everything they have to offer.
