Sandy Crack - A 'side-road' surf cottage. EV-ready.

A well appointed single level, 1,300 sqft cottage, a little over 100 yards from quiet beach access. This open, 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath home is on a quaint and quiet side street lined by old oak trees. The wooded surroundings of the home provides great opportunities to see foxes, frogs, raccoons and deer many months of the year. You are far enough away from the road to not hear cars traveling up and down the island. Most times you'll only hear the sound of waves hitting the beach. Very little ambient light from other houses or street lights, so lots of great star viewing.
Bring your EV! A 240VAC/50A, NEMA 14-50 outlet is available in the parking area for you to use for charging your vehicle. A charger is not supplied so bring your preferred travel charger with you.

The beach area in front of the access point is not crowded because of the lack of nearby 'house density' or public Access. It is a quiet area with lots of families. Only 1.5 miles from downtown Surf City and the pier.
The Kitchen is fully appointed with lots of flatware for serving great meals. Includes a coffee maker, food processor, toaster oven, crock pot, blender and a myriad of pots of pans for cooking a wonderful meal. There is bar seating at the kitchen counter for 4 and a custom farmhouse dining table that will seat 6.

Another year in the books! Our family had a great time at Ian’s home. My husband and I loved the patio. My children enjoyed the well stacked closet full of board games. We all loved being so close to the beach!

We were looking for a quiet beach vacation and got exactly that! The home is beautiful and the neighbors were friendly. Your close to all the restaurants and shops, but the location makes you feel like you’re far from the hustle and bustle of vacationers. Our host was helpful and quick to respond!

We had the best time at Sandy Crack. It was very relaxing, just a short walk to the beach. The house had everything that we could have needed or wanted. Our dogs were comfortable and we got to have them there with us so that made our stay even better. We will definitely be back!

A very nice place close to the beach. There are some small details we would have changed if it were our place (with regard to the linens and other miscellaneous stuff) but all in all we enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is very quiet and mellow.

We loved staying here! The host was very kind and communicated perfectly throughout the reservation and rental process. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. Our dog enjoyed being there with us too. It was a very short walk to the beach and we had plenty of space. We would love to stay here again!

Never have I stayed at a beach house before that felt so much like home! This house was so comfortable for us and also for being pet friendly was extremely clean! No pet smells or a stray dog hair in sight. We brought our family dog with us but also have high standards of cleanliness and this house exceeded our expectations!

Thank you very much! Part of what makes this place special is when it it is not rented, we use it ourselves. We also want someplace that clean, comfortable and homey for long days at the beach and nice meals with friends and family. This is what makes it feel homey. We had a great time. The house was perfect for our stay, very comfortable and clean. The beach was very nice, loved being so close! Wish we could have stayed longer and can't wait to visit again.

Great place to stay
We enjoyed our stay at Sandy Crack. Perfect location, great decor, very roomy, very nice partially covered and lighted deck. We will definitely stay here again.

Beach house was very clean. Plenty of dishes and cookware. The area is very nice and house was conveniently close to a private beach access. Would consider this property in the future.

This property was amazing. It had everything that we looked for. The kitchen had so many frying pans and pots. Every gadget that you could imagine. Very close to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very responsive and helpful
We enjoyed our stay here very much. The private beach access was convenient and the host was very responsive and helpful despite a hiccup we had during our stay.

Great place for a weekend getaway!
Loved this property. Everything was as listed. Great location, just a short walk to the beach with private beach access. Very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

Another Great Stay
There is so much to love about the Sandy Crack! It's the perfect size and location for our family of 5. Close to the beach and on a quiet street. We enjoyed our second stay here and are glad to have found the Sandy Crack.

Great house and location!
The house was very clean and the kitchen well-stocked with everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. Close to the beach with easy access. We would definitely recommend it to others and plan to return in the future.

We are a family of outdoor enthusiasts that love being outside and active, whenever possible. Surf City/Topsail has been a favorite of ours since we moved to NC in 2004. We love the low-key, family-oriented nature of the island and really like the lack of commercialization. We are also a family of surfers and really like the miles of uncrowded beach breaks, right out front.

Off the beaten path on an oak tree lined street. Quiet and tranquil. Topsail Island and Surf City are one of a handful of remaining NC beach towns that commercialization has not caught up to. You won't find miles of neon signs, fast food restaurants, arcades, loud bars or nightclubs. Wilmington has all of those things and more and is under 30 mins away.

Only 100 yards from deeded beach access. Because of the lack of building density at and around the house, the beach never gets crowded. The back deck of the house looks out onto a wooded buffer between neighboring street. The sound is only 100 yards away as well. You could easily launch a kayak from there. Beach/Sound. Has it all!
A sidewalk parallel to Route 50 is 100 yards away. If you don't want to run on the beach, you can run south on a sidewalk all the way into the town of Topsail Beach, 5 miles away. A bike path on the road shoulder starts about 3/4 miles from the house and runs 10 miles north, to the town of North Topsail. Really nice for a great, fast road ride spin.
