Quaint, air-conditioned, and full of natural light, this home is part of the charming Barefoot Cottages that sit three miles north of downtown Port St. Joe. You'll find nearby access to white sand and the Gulf of Mexico by driving one mile northwest to the public WindMark Beach.

This home is also a haven for anglers, divers, snorkelers, and boating enthusiasts, who will find a gorgeous route across Saint Joseph Bay to T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. As for Port St. Joe, the serene and walkable downtown is home to a variety of seafood bistros, antique shops, and a marina for setting sail on the gulf.

Great experience

Loved how close it was to the pool. Enjoyed the fitness center. Great little cottage that had everything we needed. Clean, nicely decorated, furniture was updated, kitchen well stocked.

This cottage was absolutely beautiful. The location to the pool, beach and local shopping was perfect. The place was very clean when we arrived. We were only left 4 towels however they quickly brought us additional ones the very next morning. Our only suggestion is that they need to have a few folding chairs in one of the closets so you can have more than 4 people sit at the dining room table. We will definitely be back!

Hidden gem

We loved being able to walk out our door and be pool side! Quiet and friendly owners/guest. We will be back. Not a huge fan that cleaning staff brought their family members and children to swim while they worked. Seems a little unfair to pay for paradise when others just walked in free but over all it was a great stay!!!

Quiet & Relaxing

We had a lovely stay. The house was clean and had a perfect location for our family to use the pool. The neighbors (the few that were around!) were friendly and helpful. The house was supplied with everything we needed. They only supplied us with two bath towels (for family of 5) so that was a challenge. Also, the washing machine did not work for our entire stay. Vacasa wasn’t the most efficient with communicating (it seemed like I was chatting with AI) and finally sent a repair person out after multiple points of communication. At the end of the day, we were told the problem was fixed and it never was.

We had a great stay. I only have one suggestion. The code to get in the house was soooooooooo long. Everytime we entered i had to fumble through my email to find it. It was impossible to remeber.

We had a great stay

We had a great time on our vacation. We loved the home and more importantly our kids had a great time. I would suggest the owner replacing the carpet up stairs it is horrible and has an dirty smell to it and the king mattress being replaced. Other than that we truly enjoyed our time there.

Neighbors were quiet. Loved the layout of the inside. Bedrooms were large. Loved the fact the pool was right outside the screened porch.

Unit needs help

After it was cleaned (check in at 4 and unit had not been cleaned until 6 pm) we enjoyed the stay. Close to pool and restaurants. Repairs are needed in the unit as floor in living room was lifting and soft. Faucet in master bedroom was leaking and screen door was ready to fall off snd holes in screen

Nice Place

We enjoyed our stay and it was relaxing. The rental definitely needs some fixing up like paint and the floors upstairs creaked a lot. (Which made me nervous). The only problem we had was we didn’t get any parking passes. I was told there was some on the counter and when I called into the 1-800 # I was told the property manager would leave us some…. Which we never did receive.

Bathrooms were not clean and carpet needs to be changed. Faucet Leaks in master bathroom and kitchen. Other than those things, I enjoyed my vacation.

We loved the house was right by the pool and an easy drive to where ever we wanted to go. We were very frustrated with the lack of cable (we were down when they weren't sure if hurricane Ian was about to hit) which we called about multiple times and didn't get resolved at all. The house is VERY sparsely furnished as far as kitchen utensils. There was ONE dish towel, no pot holders or bowls larger than cereal bowls. The master bedroom is on the highway 98 side and you can hear the traffic. We have rented from Vacasa previously and as long as there's no problems you will have a great stay. We love Barefoot Cottages because it's quiet

Good for the price

Overall, a good place to stay for the price. We’ve stayed at other units in Barefoot Cottages that had some advantages over this one. Just needs some investment in upgrades. The floor on the first level is some kind of rollout laminate I think, there were huge areas of bubbles and sudden drops, I’m sure from all the humidity affecting the glue. But if anyone less sturdy on their feet walks on it, there’s an accident waiting to happen. Seems like the heating element in the dryer is going out. We weren’t able to dry anything for more than 10 mins at a time. Glad we read the reviews about the unit not having a smart tv so we could bring our Roku! And please…don’t use a 10-digit code to get into the unit. That meant I had to have my phone in my hand every time I came to the door. A simple 4 digit that we could remember would have been nice. Bed was comfy, place was clean, plenty of dishes for cooking. Again, good unit for the price, but it’s time to investment in upgrades.

Don't Rent This

Beds are awful, a board under the king mattress even! Furniture is old and very uncomfortable. Carpets upstairs are old and filthy!! I'll bet the owners never even stay in this place! Keep looking!

Our stay was great. We love the area. The cottage needs some work. The beds were terrible, we had to buy foam toppers to sleep The mattress were very old. The closet doors were off and didn't work. The upstairs carpet was so dirty. The furniture was very old and uncomfortable.

Good vacation, but some concerns

Great location. Loved the pool area/community and close to both Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe. The rental company was responsive with all of our concerns, but much of our issues were out of their immediate control. This particular home is in need of updating. The carpet upstairs needs to be replaced immediately, very worn and quite frankly very dirty. The beds/mattresses, bedding, and couch are not comfortable. Old and worn. These items need attention and updating. Also, the cleanliness of the home was less than desired. Some bedding had stains, carpet upstairs was not vacuumed before our arrival(my husband tried to vacuum, but that was broken), and the downstairs floor needs a thorough mopping. We love this area for vacation but will not be renting this specific home again.
